  1. debmidge - to address your question. i went to the canadian celiac conference this weekend and was speaking with the coordinator for next year. togehter, we have devised an idea of having a program for those in that age group. i understand the whole 21+ ordeal (well, 18/19+ here...), but you cannot segregate a group for all. anything, highschool and college...
  2. if you are getting the soymilk because you are dairy/casein free, the basic frapp mix has casein in it.
  3. these are fantastic! thank you. let's keep going! (smunkee - if you want to vent about the bad day, hit me with a pm). gfAL - that's just you. tell the bugger to get a life.
  4. awesome - thanks so far! keep 'em coming!
  5. Hey everyone... From this age group. If you went to a celiac conference, and there were things dedicated towards your age group in particular, what would you want to see?
  6. Last summer I was diagnosed with celiac disease. I was a runner, but not a marathoner... a "i love to run so i run daily" runner. As I got sicker and sicker, my runs got shabby. Then, I lost a million pounds and had the bod of a nine year old and had to move home and needed a cane and was really, really ill. Then, doctors said when I hit said weight...
  7. Barq's, Mug, A&W, Stewart's are all gluten-free varieties of root beer.
  8. There are two: Follow Your Heart, and Galaxy Nutritionals. Or, buy the Uncheese Cookbook.
  9. dude, i'm feeling you on the chem. BUT... if you come, i'll help you out! (just help me out, too.)
  10. Just wanted to wish all of you heading to the conference a safe drive/flight.
  11. Every night I make a mixture of Panda Puffs and fruit sweetened (not honey) Corn Flakes (both Nature's Path), as well as Quinoa Puffs (Go Go QUinoa). Gorilla Munch, I hear, tastes like Cap'n Crunch (never had Cap'n Crunch, so I don;'t know).
  12. Sorry - all my brands are Canadian. Wish I could help
  13. It's gluten-free, if that's your question. I (obviously my opinion) would not advocate it as 'safe'.
  14. jnclelland - hehe, ironically (me answering you here)... I just answered you on the south beach forum.
  15. i live in canada, but i get it at the local grocer. it's an imported, japanese brand, though.... there are about ten different varieties in the store, though. the ingredients (off the top of my head) are ginger, rice vinegar, seaweed, and i think something else, i don't remember. anyway, i am really sensitive too, and didn't react to it. if you really can...
  16. the pickled ginger that i buy (for home) is with rice vinegar.
  17. out of the four you listed, the only one i keep in the freezer is the rice (the others in the pantry). i also keep soy, amaranth, flax in the freezer.
  18. Galaxy Nutritional's Vegan line is great for this. Also, I highly recommmend investing in the Uncheese Cookbook by Stepaniak.
  19. you use so little it goes a long way. i have had mine since christmas and i'm not even half done... and i bake about six different baked goods a week with it.
  20. perhaps your drugs are cross contaminated.
  21. Lister - you have mentioned that you had worms in your stools... Perhaps there is a larger problem at hand here. Have you spoken to your GI about issues other than potential celiac? In addition, keep in mind it might take awhile to heal. For nine months or so, all I could consume was veggies and nut butter, basically. Sometimes you need to simplify it as...
  22. I felt like that for a long time (continuously) and now off and on. I have been gluten-free since August, but totally gluten-free (I was making a brutal mistake for months with one product) since January. I still get it sometimes. I don't know if I can for sure chalk it up to celiac, but I feel quite 'flu-y'. Sometimes I get a light fever with it too. It...
  23. I know a lot of people (and by that, maybe about four) who eat wheat -free (not gluten-free) because they simply feel better. In addition, a lot of people know that spelt, kamut, quinoa, amaranth are all better for you nutritionally, than wheat.
