  1. Back to TM. First time in many years. It's one thing I'd like to be able to count on.

  2. Also childless here. However, my periods were regular like clockwork until going gluten-free. Then I missed three in a row and now back on schedule. I think I've had this for so long, it would be impossible to know what "normal" is regarding PMS and menstrual symptoms. Being a rookie at Celiac, the longest I've made it is 35 days without being glutened...
  3. Your best is YOUR BEST regardless of what anyone else does! It is a difficult lesson to learn but an important one. Trust me, I've spent a lot of time wondering why I seemed to struggle more than my colleagues until this was uncovered. You might read The Four Agreements. It's a short, simple read but such wise life information. Be sure to check your...
  4. If it makes you feel better, I've noticed a strange comfort zone that sets in about a month after being glutened. I now consider it a time of extreme vulnerability. Those pesky neurological symptoms. Sometimes, I just wake up out of it and continue losing things/forgetting things until the more obvious symptoms rear their heads. Last weekend I went...
  5. That is so true! Thank you. I'm going to incorporate TM back into my life. Even if I were dying, it could only help.
  6. There are still more and more petechiae appearing all over my body. I just found a medical journal article that identified petechaie as Dermititis Herpetiformis so that's the box I'm putting it in and will carry on without worry. The medical professionals at the hospital would be better able to help patients if they took a co-active dialogue workshop. ...
  7. Congratulations, Peg! Eaing beforehand is something I'm going to adopt.
  8. Excellent post! Thank you for passing on your doctor's advice. He sounds like a knowledgeable doctor. Waiting to confirm the unknowns until after healing is wise and I'm going to heed his advice. It seems very sound. Cali *corrected misspelling
  9. No I actually escaped out the back door. They ran so many unnecessary tests. Now I understand my Dad's agitation in those places. However, I am relieved to know. It cost a lot but at least I know my heart and lungs are in good working order too, Really, I'd rather be safe than sorry and appreciate your support. That being said, I will probably not...
  10. Thanks folks. I checked out okay. Apparently there's nothing too big going on, except for a bill coming in the mail soon.
  11. Thanks, Diana. It's difficult to get a clear perspective on whether or not I was just acclimated to feeling sick before or if my symptoms have become worse. I have been ill for a long time. It's overwhelming & foggy. Hoping this is nothing but a gluten flare and that I'm wasting everyone's time.
  12. Thank you, Gemini. I will.
  13. It does feel like scorched earth policy going on inside. Doctor said not to second guess petechiae rash so I'm sitting in the emergency room on a Friday afternoon. That's what I get for waiting. Thanks guys.
  14. Wow. i'm so sorry. The lab technician did comment on the amount of blood that ran out of my arm when I neglected to apply pressure... I'll call the doctor. My hematologist is off on Friday. The doc will probably tell me to go to the hospital if I feel that sick. How does a person make that decision when unable to be objective? The last thing I want...
  15. Wow Adelaide. The last glutening lasted about 10 days and less symptoms. Guess I'd like it to remain on a predictable schedule :-( Sorry folks. This is the pits.
  16. I'm seeing the hematologist on Wednesday. Add that my hair & eyelashes just started shedding. I am having a difficult time getting ready for the day and it's almost 1pm, not to mention, I look contagious. Guess I thought I'd be rounding the bend at this point... Really don't know what to say to people to whom I have commitments.
  17. I made it 35 days gluten-free and noticed many changes: skin looked better, eyes looked better. My lab results continually got better where Ferritin & hemoglobin were concerned. The last blood test showed high lymphs and low neutrophils but didn't concern me since my body seemed to be going through quite an ordeal once going gluten-free in October...
  18. Ate glutened chicken both days last weekend (accidentally!) and still very sick. Arms so weak and petechaie all over.

  19. It's great to know you are now skiing, Lisa. I'm only 4.5 months in and GET what you mean about it being harder at first after diagnosis. I'm in it. I CAN'TWAIT TO SKI! Also, am with you Gemini on the AMA killing us. In Italy, every citizen is pre-screened and know within TWO WEEKS if they have Celiac! This ignorance here in the states is outrageous...
  20. Thank you, Irish. That's a good idea on keeping a symptoms list. Since you are the third person in a week who has spoken to me about expectations, I think I'll listen. I messed up last weekend because I went somewhere famished and am currently paying the price. I only wish I was in the place to have high expectations right now! The bargaining stage isn...
  21. Is there anyone out there who goes through their first year of this and say it's not daunting?? I'm so sorry. Stress exasperates this as well (as it probably does everything). I screwed up Saturday and ate a piece of chicken at Whole Foods without questioning that it could have broth in it or something not listed on the label (or CC). Then did it again...
  22. I don't know how anyone lives with this!

Illness, road to recovery, illness, road to recovery, illness... I messed up and am suffering the consequences. Just in pain & it affects my outlook.

  23. Major arm weakness & fatigue today & not from gluten. Would really like to move on from this.

  24. Welcome Adela! I'm glad you have an answer. It's difficult not knowing the answer to "why" and the constant second-guessing (feeling like a wuss). I once sat on the couch in a stupor for five hours. I thought it was either dissociative identity disorder or the worst case of ADD/OCD ever! It sounds like your boss really understands. I'm into this...
