  1. I've not heard/read that but it's an interesting question. I had some symptoms when I was a salad-eating healthnut and even in childhood. When I became a gluten-raving maniac, my health really started circling the drain. I've been sick and not working for 10 years. I stopped eating gluten 11/2012. I'm extremely sensitive to it. The bad symptoms last...
  2. I think you're a peach and your story inspires and supports me. Thank you for telling it.

  3. I suffered that debilitating fatigue. People begin to think you're a life-long hypochondriac but you're right, it doesn't make sense to complain for that long every day. It's eye-opening when you get down the road of healing. We've also experienced familial healing though it's just the two of us. It hurts to read about families/loved ones being unsupportive...
  4. I'm on adrenal support. It's helping. I'm told it will take a few years to correct. That's because I needed to be on it a long time ago. My husband is on it too but only for a few months. It's helping him as well. It's truly better to catch things early on. Keep on keeping on and REST a lot!
  5. No doubt anymore about the relevance of gluten-free shampoo.

  6. I just realized that I got so busy planning, shopping & cooking that I ran out of gluten-free shampoo. I reverted to shampoo with gluten right around the time I started feeling bad. Argh! Onward through the fog.
  7. Thanks guys. You've been helpful. I can see the value in it, I'm just not sure how to get back on top of it. My hope is to plan out 16 days once I'm feeling better. In the meantime, I'm hunting & pecking the items on my "safe foods" list. Right now I'm in the valley of despair. I never realize the nature of my health until I make commitments. ...
  8. Thanks for the reminder about stress. I am under a lot of stress.
  9. I stay away from it: "For example, if a farmer allows some of the grasses to begin producing seeds prior to harvest, then that particular crop will contain gluten." Open Original Shared Link
  10. Thank you. I'm not sure why I feel so wretched. I'm taking the pressure off and just eating the safe foods "whenever" until I get back on my feet. Cali
  11. My doctor has recently put me on several therapies such as adrenal support, vitamin support, bioidentical hormones, chelation for mercury and the rotation diet for leaky gut. She practices functional medicine so I assume these are all gentle therapies seeing as how I'm doing them all at once. The first week of the rotation diet was super challenging but...
  12. Always Learning - Thank you for that. I had stopped taking my vitamins before having some testing done and then put that off due to being glutened. Your response got me back on track. I submitted the tests and began taking vitamins again which helped. The tests revealed leaky gut (low sIgA?), adrenal fatigue, high mercury levels, ferritin, Vit D &...
  13. My health started sputtering 10 years ago. The last eight years, my health really suffered. Every year, there was some health issue to overcome. I went through a lot like many of you here. I am eight months down the road being gluten-free and many things have improved. Last weekend, I started a sailing class in honor of my dad's birthday and my husband...
  14. Everytime I recover from a glutening, I feel a little better than before.

  15. @Kareng :-) & thanks for steering me here. @psawyer thank you. Is there anything in particular that I need to do to publish them in the future?
  16. I wonder who else is fascinated by another person's weight loss journey whether it be a friend, somebody on TV or writing in a blog. The psychological journey these people go on in order to lose weight impresses me. There are many demons to fight. I loved the show "Ruby". Well, even though I am coming from the opposite end of the spectrum (needing...
  17. I'm frustrated beyond belief with myself. How long does it take to change behavior brought with me from childhood? I'm a people pleaser. I love to keep the peace. I will do anything for peace. Now, the thing that worked for so many years, people pleasing, is contributing to my illness. "Yes, sure, I can have watermelon." Forget about washing my...
  18. I don't have the energy for nine stitches so I'd better damn well get to it while it's only one.
  19. I am blown away by these kids with disabilities; their challenges and their resilience. How inspiring is this documentary on HBO. Very touching and uplifting.

    I'm Sorry

I must apologize, in advance, for making such bluesy feelings public. Maybe it's a generational thing but I learned as a child that publicizing anything that looked close to "sour puss" just won't cut it. So I'm sorry for that. Maybe this is the start of becoming a genuine human being. I'm sorry for being apathetic today. I was so active yesterday...
  21. I'm not sure I understand the correlation. What would a bug in the system have to do with someone having had a blog before?
  22. I've had blogs before. When I edit a post, the only option is "submit changes". In new entries, it says "post new entry". There doesn't seem to be an option to post a draft. All of my blog posts are in "draft" mode here. I have more than one blog and more than one post. All posts show up as a draft. Thank you! Cali
  23. I believe I was glutened while glutened. This experience has not been fun. I'm going to eat alone for a while. This is insane.

  24. Hello, Whenever I make posts in the blog section, it lists the post as a draft. How do I change this? Thank you, Cali
  25. Why do all my blog posts say "Draft" after I press publish?
