  1. about a year ago my symptoms started getting pretty unbearable, I had no idea what was wrong. I would get dizzy/nausea out of the blue, and it was interfering with my life as you can imagine. I saw several doctors and 2 GI docs. many tests were run, including a biopsy for celiac. everything came back negative, and was constantly told there was nothing wrong...
  2. the symptoms I got were nausea and dizziness mostly, and an overall sick feeling in my gut. I glutened myself last week by baking with my granddaughter, I was elbow deep in flour. (I am new to this and didn't realize that this would be bad, I had assumed not eating the cookies would be a given and I should be safe, but working with the flour was a huge mistake...

  4. I wouldn't skip the parties. I would eat first so you aren't hungry, then get something in your hand like a drink of water, or whatever you like, and enjoy the party. it shouldn't be about the food, you are there to enjoy yourself. if you want to bring something, that is a good idea, so you know there will be somethere to munch on if you want it.
  5. I totally agree here. I recently started gluten-free last month and am noticing a huge improvement in my life. I aso just found this board, it is such a great resource. I will bring my own food when going places, and won't apologize for it. it's my health and if I don't take charge, I will suffer. there is no choice
