  1. Hi Cyclinglady, At age 70, I need lots of encouragement. Thanks.
  2. I read strontium can can give a false increase the density results. I'm not happy with doctors either. For both dates,I used the same radiology service on a Hologic QDR 4500C bone denisitometer. My PCP ignored the results. I haven't hired a specialist yet.
  3. Based on the information below, can anyone explain a 2.8% loss of bone density at the Fermoral Neck and 6.6% gain at the Lumber Spine after 2 years? I have Celiac and I'm stunned by the opposite! Treatment: Alendronate, 70 mg/week between April 25, 2013 to May 3, 2014. Ended due to stomach pain. Project Healthy Bones Class: Feb. 24, 2014 to April 20, 20...
  4. Finally, got a bone scan. I was Dx'ed with osteoporous of the lumbar spine (T-2.7), osteopenia of the left hip (T-1.7) and Femoral Neck (T-2.3). Vit D was normal at 41.0 (range:30.0-100.0). The other bone nutrients calcium (serum=9.7) and albumin (serum=4.5) were normal. However, I still need to determine if an imbalance of phosphorous and PTH exist...
  5. Just to follow up. To date, my PCP (of 14 months) won't read this book. He said it's not his job, has no interest or time in reading books on specific diseases and tells me to direct my questions regarding celiac/gluten issues to my GI Doctor.
  6. Cut back to 1/day with your heaviest meal.
  7. I don't have a nutritionist to date, so thanks for posting. I'll stay with my 50B brand for a while.
  8. 1) Needles (Belonephobia): I use LabCorp for bloodwork and never see the same person twice. Went today and it was more than a misquito bite pain. I used deep diaphragmatic breathing to beat this phobia. 2) Doctor's Office ( Iatrophobia): Called white coat syndrome. Especially with a new doctor. Higher blood pressure than normal? You get 140/70 and...

    ARCHIVED Weather

I think Ground Hog Day is stupid. My heating bill was $449 (Jan) and $250 (Dec), respectively for two months.
  12. I'm currently using MegaFlora Plus by MegaFood. It's certified gluten free with 14 strains of good stuff @ 50 billion CFU. Also dairy free, soy free, non GMO, tested free of pesticides and herbicides and vegetarian.
  13. My probiotic of one mouth contains some L. reuteri. Happy to become a one male mousekateer.
  14. Thanks for posting this Vit. E issue. I looked at my MultiVit. which listed Vit E(60 IU, 200%DV) as dL alpha T( the synthetic version). Need to find a new brand now.
  15. I've been eating these bars for about a year and concerning gluten, been fine with them. Depends on your sensitivity to gluten. GI Doc says I'm OK with 0 to 19 ppm as labeled gluten free. I drink a glass of water with each bar and it helps with digestion.
  16. I'll take the honors at 68. Ooops, can't remember anything else. Something you young'ns can look forward to.
  17. I like old country and classical.
  18. Well stated, Gemini. I won't buy or read it as previously posted.

    ARCHIVED Eye Floaters

My opthalmologist (of many years) never connected gluten to my floaters either.
  20. Thanks for the link, Mike. Good food (gluten free of course) for debate at my next appointment with PCP on Feb 28. He will be enlightened in the ways of a Celiac. We're new to each other (since jan, 2012) and want to give him a chance.
  21. Great link IH. With graditude.
  22. That's my goal. Will probiotics give me that 1?
  23. Sorry. Not weird math , just a weird presentation of the facts. Glade you figured it out. I give you an A+.
