ARCHIVED Bone Density Results: 2 good, 1 bad.
Opa3 replied to Opa3's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I read strontium can can give a false increase the density results. I'm not happy with doctors either. For both dates,I used the same radiology service on a Hologic QDR 4500C bone denisitometer. My PCP ignored the results. I haven't hired a specialist yet.- 6 replies

Treatment: Alendronate, 70 mg/week between April 25, 2013 to May 3, 2014. Ended due to stomach pain. Project Healthy Bones Class: Feb. 24, 2014 to April 20, 20...

Finally, got a bone scan. I was Dx'ed with osteoporous of the lumbar spine (T-2.7), osteopenia of the left hip (T-1.7) and Femoral Neck (T-2.3). Vit D was normal at 41.0 (range:30.0-100.0). The other bone nutrients calcium (serum=9.7) and albumin (serum=4.5) were normal. However, I still need to determine if an imbalance of phosphorous and PTH exist... -

Opa3 replied to IrishHeart's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Just to follow up. To date, my PCP (of 14 months) won't read this book. He said it's not his job, has no interest or time in reading books on specific diseases and tells me to direct my questions regarding celiac/gluten issues to my GI Doctor. -

1) Needles (Belonephobia): I use LabCorp for bloodwork and never see the same person twice. Went today and it was more than a misquito bite pain. I used deep diaphragmatic breathing to beat this phobia. 2) Doctor's Office ( Iatrophobia): Called white coat syndrome. Especially with a new doctor. Higher blood pressure than normal? You get 140/70 and...

I've been eating these bars for about a year and concerning gluten, been fine with them. Depends on your sensitivity to gluten. GI Doc says I'm OK with 0 to 19 ppm as labeled gluten free. I drink a glass of water with each bar and it helps with digestion.
