Oh, how exciting!!! Cannes too??? She must be thrilled.
Remember what they say. There is NO SUCH THING as a bit part. She's there. She (and you) should enjoy every minute of it.
Keep us posted on all of this and let us know if it comes out on DVD. I'd love to see it.
Nancy
Thanks Nancy, it's fun. But to wait. Annie is the left of my avatar. She's a sweetie, but down with the flu, first wedding anniversary June 10 and calling momma. I like that.
-
Please don't get excited, just a mothers boast.
Two summer ago a movie crew here and did some shooting for a movie. It is called "Dog Days of Summer". We have not heard much so I googled it. The movie will make it's film debut in Cannes Film Festival in the Fall. The move stars Will Patton, and boy is he such a nice guy and very down to earth.
Annie plays the "girlfriend" of married Pastor Salem, played by R. Keith Harris (did a Spiderman stint), but his name is not on my celeb list. No improprieties as the girl friend, just walking in an out of his home. She was one to two "townies" that had a more significant role. Non speaking role, but not an extra either.
Oh, well. It's just a fun little experience in her young life.
Nothing redeeming in this post, but I think it's kinda cool.

Thanks Patti for the time to look this up. Don't know whether they were planters, but feel more comfortable now.
I am still a little bugged that they did not list the nuts on the salad menu. What if I had a peanut allergy. When I inquired about the nuts, the own ask if it was ok and I responded with "I'm not sure". She gave me that look like "Sorry, but not my problem". GRRRR
-
Today I order a salad with cranraisins, sliced apples and unseasoned grilled chicken. I brought my own Newmans Dressing. When it arrived, it has what I thought were pine nuts (thought, ok cool). Half way through my salad the nuts tasted seasoned. I asked and yes they were dry roasted peanuts, similar to Planter's.
I have not bought them since gluten free and I have no idea what brand they were, nor was able to read the restaurants ingredience on the nuts. (I have not reaction to peanuts, but concerned about the seasoning). I am not concerned about the grilled chicken.
Ball Park question, are they generally gluten free or should I break out the Imodium soon?

Good Grief...I have not heard of Junket in tens and tens of years. Didn't know it was still around.

Good advice. I'm currently taking 1/4 of a 10mg pill. Not much of a dose. It's hard to carve
that 1/4 pill down any lower with any accuracy. Did you experience anything else notable after
stopping? Jerry
This was several months after I was diagnosed and switched doctors. He ran a celiac panel on me when I was two months gluten free, so therefore negative. I know now that he was very skeptical of my diagnosis (confirmed by biopy) and pushed the Lexipro. I was on 10mg for a little over a year and stopped after my daughters wedding ( I know it was helpful with that!). I never thought that I needed it though.
I am convinced that he thought I was anxious and stressed. Fooled him and found another doctor. Now, if I get glutened my first sign IS a feeling being uptight and tense followed by the obvious.
Just another doctor with no answers other than "it's in her head".
-
Jerry GO SLOWLY!!!
When I got of lexipro I did it was to fast, like a week and a half. I started to get this strange electrical pulses all over my body, and other very strange things.
You should do it over a course of a month. Or at the recommendation of a doctor.

Great to see you face Lister!!! Handsome young man as well.
Well, I sure could tell a difference in your posting. Your words were spelled correctly, you wrote complete sentences and you made sense.
You might not see a big difference in not being high, but it is very evident. It's a wonderful change.
Hang in there. You have a new job and you'll be around a whole bunch of new people. It's a beginning.
Take care

To untie a large bouquet into several...I think is priceless. I just wished that we had thought about that in our daughters wedding last June. That is SOO cool.

Hey Geoff:
It would be nice to have some of your mother-in-law recipes ( I forgot the fond name you have for her or is it the grandmother?).
You are truely a lucky man.

Kimberly:
I have know people like that my entire life. At 52, I am less tolerant of it with new people that I talk too.
I do have a friend of almost 30 years and she is much like that. I mention something about me and the conversation immediatly returns to herself. She is currently dealing with a butt of a husband, a 25 year old son with addictive tendencies and living at home after parcial college, her parents need to be in a care center and she can't climb out of "it's all about me".
Sometimes it's good to talk to a friend who will just listen but sometimes we need just to listen. I guess that is why I spend so much time here.
I think you friend is looking for something that you can provide. If that responsibility bothers you, you can slowly back off. But, I commend you for your concern. Remember that copying your actions is a back door complement.
I do think that there is quite a bit of insecurity here, but yet, not your responsibility.

GOOD FOR YOU GEOFF!!!! We all need to see good things happening.

so how about phasyme or gas x... are either of those gluten free?
It's always good to post with confirmed product. No one wants to get any one sick.

Have you ever heard of Celiac Disease affecting women this way? I myself have been given instructions to not go gluten free diet until after biopsy on June 19, and am twiddling my thumbs waiting, and eating "badly",, and feeling crappy!
and am trying to get as much info as possible with symptoms etc.. thanks!
Your instruction are good. Continue eating gluten as difficult as it may be if you have a biopsy scheduled soon.
-
I like Gloria Vanderbilt...oh genes. Don't know mine, a biopsy sealed it for me.

are craisins gluten free?
OceanSpray Cranraisins are gluten free.

Does anyone know if mens one a day energy is gluten free (supplement pills)
No, but I bet there is a 1-800 number of a web site you could contact and ask.
-
I buy them all the time. But recently, I've tried to stay dairy light. To my knowledge, they are still gluten free but perhaps it's the cheese that you reacted to. Glad you feel better.
You could always trie Boars Head as all meats and cheeses are gluten free.

I have found through much research in this subject (haha) that red wine causes the same reaction in me as gluten. I wish not as it spoils my fun! Red wine has health benefits so I still try it once in a while, but I have had to stick with a white wine. Which I faithfully do! I unfortunately feel, with my body, it's the sulfites or the alcohol, or something with the red is to blame. I will probably test this theory again soon. But mostly with white where I end up feeling OK. Unless it's more than 4 glasses of that, then back to the "glutening"! haha Sounds like this is no help but what I really feel is that alcohol mimics glutening in my body.
You have to do whatever works for you. But, if it makes you feel better, my husband with a combination of red wine and beef, will do his morning newspaper reading in the bathroom. And, he is non-Celiac.
And, he would be so proud that I mentioned this.

Hello All!
Just wanted to say hi & get a little bit of feed back if I may. I was diagnosed this past Friday (yea!
) as having Celiac's Disease & also a severe allergy to Dust Mites (but that's another topic entirely). For YEARS i have gone to allergist after allergist who told me nothing was wrong with me & long story short, I made my way to an Internalist for a Thyroid panel & he sends my blood off for a complete work up & it comes back no thyroid problem but Celiac's Disease. I have been caught a little off guard by all of this. Does anyone have any helpful insight, tidbits, experiences, or sources for helpful info that you would like to share? I am kinda freaking out so anything @ this point would be super helpful! Thank you!
Welcome to the Club! You have just found yourself the best source for celiac information available.
First, start simple - meats, seafood, potatoes, rice, fresh veggies and fruit, nuts with simple seasonings. Dairy is often hard to digest until the villi heal.
You also need to check your toiletries to include lotions, makeup, lipstick, shampoos...in other words anything can can get into your mouth.
As we all say, the learning curve is steep but it is very doable. The key to success is to learn to read labels, call companies with products in question and diligence.
We have some great folks here who a dedicated to helping those that come behind them. So, please feel comfortable to join in and read as much as you can from these post and ask away.

Red wine is safe for Celiacs although some here react to the sulfites in the wine.
-
This morning she did a segment about the Bethesda, Maryland Gluten Free Cookoff. She mentioned Celiac Disease quite often with the need for gluten free cooking awareness.
She's the best thing since sliced Kinnikinnick!
