Have your ever wonder how to give back to this forum that was created by Scott Adams? A Forum that has helped and aided so many of us in the road to recovery.
I have an idea.
How about all of these great recipes compiled in a book that Scott can market TO SUPPORT THIS FORUM? What a wonderful way to give back to someone who has created a soft spot for us and an endless source of truly valuable information and support.
Anyone game?
Scott, what do you think?

I think he is on Sabbatical. Steve will be back, when he is ready.

Nestle: Will list all gluten, but most are free. But they encourage all to read the lables.

Monica:
Bev said some really good things. If you don't want to be sick, you have to make some changes.
I would also like to add, that you can make your son lunch that is not gluten free, but wash your hands well and all the utensils that you use. That would make a big advancement in a gluten free environment for you.
You should also check your hair products, getting color, or shampoo and conditioner, at the hairdresser.
I have learned here on the forum that some people who have been gluten free for some time, often find their reaction to gluten more intense. If you remove gluten from your diet, your body recognizes the invasion of gluten more distinctly and responds as such.
I do hope that you feel better soon.

When my oldest was about 2-3 years old, her "t's" were "f's".....as in a tree, became "look at the free".
I guess you know where I'm going with this.
We were in the grocery store, and the little boy in front of us in line was holding a fire truck.
She said loadly.." Look momma, *uck."
One more..
My youngest was holding alot of dolls in her hands and she was asked to open the door....... she said,
"I can't, I'm full of hands". I can totally relate and we use this term often at home and every one knows what it means.
I am often "full of hands".

Not a problem if you use them in the conventional way.

Mal:
1. Not familiar with the tatooing process, but I believe others here have had tatoos.
2. Use the tampon of your choice - a non gluten issue.
3. Whey is dairy based, also a non gluten issue. If you have a dairy problem, yes, and issue.

Every one reacts differently. So you won't get one answer.
Gluten is every where and to me, it's almost impossible to not get glutened as best you try.
As careful as I am. I work in a gift store, gourmet store for fun. We have designer beer, scone mix and lots of gluten stuff. I ring it up, I lick my fingers to get out the pretty tissue for the pretty bags.....
It is soo easy to get zapped. We don't live in balloons, and for goodness sake, I hope that none of us do.
We just need to be as careful as we can be.

I think that it should be ok. Sodium (salt). I would eat it, as it did not list wheat. And I am not familiar with the brand. I would feel better if someone else would click in.

I haven´t , cos my mother did it all until I was 17 and knew better, then when I was ill for 20 odd years old the arrogance of youth set in eh??? So. I am the font of all knowledge(25 years later). What an idiot!! In additition to this, it was all free in the UK!! How Clever was I??????
But, <<<<<<i do not feel betrayed, let down or anything else, just extremely stupid!!!!!!!!
Every day is a new beginning.
Let me lay low from here. Maybe Steve will come out. After all, the post was about where he was.

Glucose is sugar. Some have a dairy sensitivity if they are new to the diet. Or some may react to the dairy itself.
Many suggest that you stop dairy while you are healing and gradually re-introduce it after you have been feeling better for a period of time.
I still have a problem with McD's Vanilla Milkshake, which is gluten free. I can handle a little bit of cheese though. And, I do not drink milk products.
Hope this helps.

You have been dealing with this all you life. You may have some questions. But, also, you have 41 years of knowledge. Someone out there needs the answers that you can share.
Please jump in here and join us again. You most likely, have more information in your little finger, than most of us can learn.
I for one, would welcome your input.

Ya know, I have found that after some time you get used to handling things on your own and some have just drifted away.
Steve was (is) a very informative part of this forum and has helped sooo many. His intellect and detail was well known.
Other, than that, he will have to answer that question.
I have always thought that this forum held a vast amount of highly intelligent people who were willing to donate their time here with the assistance of others. So many are still with us.
If you have question, please feel comfortable to ask.

I think that he accidentally hit ALL of his "ignore" buttons, instead of just one. Ooops, (looking around) who said that
FULL MOON TONIGHT.
Come back Steve, come back.

To the best of my knowledge, whey, is diary durived and it not connected to gluten.
If he is having a problem with dairy, yes that may be an issue for him.

There are a ton of gluten free recipies on this site. Carriefaith, posted a zillion. Goggle and see what you can find.
Tonight:
Small baking whole chicken ($2.65)
Red potatoes, cut up in 1/4's
Carrotts, cut up in 1" slices.
Place all in one large roasting pan, with chicken in the middle
Baste with olive oil, garlic salt, pepper and crushed rosemary.
Bake until juice from the chicken runs clear when poked with a knife.
And veggies are soft.
So easy and a one dish meal.

I am 50something and at home on a Friday night. I think all the 30somethings are out.
Honestly, on the weekend the board gets pretty quiet. I think alot post for work
So it leaves us old broads to man the post.
In your small town (as is mine) there must be organizations that you could get involved with. An art coucil, hospital, library, sports groups, youth clubs all need volunteers. Perhaps that may be an avenue for you.
Things will happen, some just take some time. Good luck, and I defer to the 30somethings.

There is no one answer to your questions as it varies widely from one to another. Some can react, say within minutes to a hour. I believe that it can be from the amount of damage done to your small intesting, as well some may be hyper-sensitive.
It take me about 24 hours to get a reaction and I have been gluten free for over a year now. I takes me several days to recover from brain fog, but the intestinal issues have moderated greatly.....every one is different.
