I often order steamed crab legs, with or without Old Bay (which is gluten-free)
Salad, bring your own dressing
Hamberger, hold the bun (clean place on the grill)
Steamed Shrimp
I am sorry, I forget that others don't know the specific eating establishments as I do. I know the "two" and they know me. It is easy and boring. I do forget that others have many other options.

I have called three times to different companies of manufactured vit and got an answer within minutes.
Go shopping, write down the 1-800 # and call. It takes minutes.
Not many of us can read the looooong words that they put in vit's, but it does not take long to find out.
Been around for over a year and I'm still learning.

Jess:
Advil gels are not listed on the new 2006 delfi list. But it very sparse as to date. Instead of advising you that they are ok, which I feel that they are, I would suggest that you call the number on the container and check.

The endoscopy exam is the easiest test I have every had. The worst part is being nervous about it. It is through your mouth into you small intestines. They clip some part of your intestings, and they should take 5-8 samples to test. Please request that.
They give you a shot, you fall asleep, wake up and most people have no memory of the testing. I had a sore throat after, but that was it.
But, please bring someone with you. I talked a bit of nonsense when I woke up and remember nothing about what the doctor said. I had to ask my husband several times, the next day, what the doctor told me.
They send off the biopsy, and the results will come back within a weeks time. But, the dr. will be able to tell you what he/she sees.
The prep, is to not eat in, I think 12-24 hrs., but I can't remember.
The Colinoscopy, is another story.
I hope that I have put you at ease.

Panda:
You can always ask away here. M&M's are gluten free. Our house rules are that you have to eat them by color.
On the original page on this site, there is safe and forbidden list. That could get you started. There you will find adult beverages that are gluten free, although, it is conservative.
There are several things for you to look into:
Shampoos, shaving cream, toothpaste, mouth wash, creams, lipstick (Panda is a generic name)
Vitimins, meds, or anything swallowed
Food (not very difficult when you know what to look for)
Nini (fellow board member), has compiled a "beginners lists", which I think you may find helpful. (search for here name and you will find here site)
I have know doubt that others will join in here to help you out.
If there are any other specifics, please post and we can answer asap.
Hope this was helpful.

I like southern accents, too. I lived in the south for several years, and to this day I pick up the accent very easily and very quickly, but when I get back up north, I pick up the lack of accent.
Hey...we don't have accents, y'all do

Again, I don't know where this information is comming from....
It's just that simple, read wheat, barley, rye, barley.
Yoplait , without the crumbs and such, is gluten-free.

Upset people here, oh noooooooo that's never happened.
The internet is sooo querky and you don't know inflections here. It is truely hard to let someone or others know how you "feel", as feelings do not convey with typed words.
Mango, my husband and I are trying to plan a road trip. Packing clothes is the least of my worries. I have to pack breakfast at inns or hotels, snacks, drinks, meds...and the list continues. It takes alot more time to plan than it used to.
Please let us view your travels. Tiffany crawled into the bowels of Mt. St. Helens and took us with her on her venture.

If I upset you in some manner, I appologize. But, yet I don't understand.
-
Well, you're there an we're not!
I truly understand your frustration. Traveling is always frustrating. I do want to comment on the flip side. We don't have to take a pill, we don't have to take chemo, we don't have to be on dialysis..................it's just about food.
As frustrating and consumming as it may seem, I would choose this.
Happy travels and please fill us in on your experiences. Many of us can't do this, so be our arm chair-world traveler.

I am so glad that you need us, because we need you as well and goodness gracious, no one is mad at you for expressing your thoughts. I think that we are all better people because of your post.
I can't help you with topical contamination, as I don't know about that. I hope that someone will post to you soon.
I hope you find a good safe answer so that you can pursue your carrier and maybe you can help us all out in the long run. Follow your dreams, babe.

Most likely few have gluten in them. Always check the ingrediences. ...wheat, malt, barley, rye.
I have always heard that Smuckers was gluten free, but often companies change what they put into their product to improve.

Thank God this thread has turned it's page!

As a true Southerner, I think you need to educate people about the difference between a Red-neck and a Good O'l Boy.

If I recall correctly, Maries Blue Cheese Dressing is gluten-free, and perhaps Newman's. But I would wait for other conformation.

Karen:
The cool thing about our accents is that it is dirived by a cross between "old-english" and early American.
I am not a native here, but I have picked up some, after being her for almost 30 years. And, it is very much like the Canadian Maritimers. As in "hoi-toid" (high tide). It still lives on the outer reaches of the outer banks.
On the other note:
I know there are others. Healing is all inclusive, whether is it physical, chemical, mental or emotional.
Sending the grits....

Hidden Gluten-----
Let me try and I am sure others will post.
When you buy shampoo, have you ever read the ingredences (they don't even sound like english), but many of those strange words do contain gluten. That is why it is always good to call the company. Write down the 1-800 number and call when you get home from the store, if you want to buy a new product.
Cosmetics, shampoo, lipstick, soap, toothpaste, vitamines, suppliments, BC pills., shaving cream.. anything that can be ingested. Call the company.
Natural flavors, Artificial ingredences are always a concern.
Manufactured on lines that may contain, peanuts, wheat, soy, etc., also a concern.... Cross Contamination issues to those that may be sensitive.
I hope that this was helpful.

Maybe you all can make sense of this, thyroid:
Free T4 - 0.85 (range 0.70 - 1.53)
TSH (high Sensitive test) - 0.89 (range0.49 - 4.87) ......sounds low to me??
Dr. had no concerns about this. So what do you all think.

To clarify, I may have confused people. Five years of loosing unexplained weight (size 12 pants to a size 4). A period of high stress kicked in my symptoms. I can even remember the date it began. After two months of being held up in the bathroom with "molten poop", went to my GP. He recommended a GI. Had endoscopy and colonoscopy. Endo, indicated flattened villi. Concluded Celiac Sprue. Went gluten free. Aggravated with my GP of years, and I went to an Osteopathic DR. He did the Celiac Panel (after two months gluten free), which was negative, duh
I have lost alot of padding on my bod. No butt, and wake up in the am with aching legs as no more padding on my feet. And I don't know how to get that back.
Ok, ok, enough about me. I don't feel comfortable being "out-there", but I sure did it to myself tonight.

Yup, and I'm the dumb **** that puts it out there for 10,000 people to see. BUT, I know that I'm not the only one in my boat.

I don't know about those two, but the 2004 Delfi List said that Lipton Onion Soup Mix is glutenfree - others are not.
