  2. Alex,

Welcome to the Board. I am not the best one to comment, as I am sure that others will post. The board is sometimes quiet on the weekend. But soon you will get some educated responses.

Sometimes people without Celiac, do feel better on the diet. Nini (here on the board) has a beginners list of intital things that you should do, eat,....

This is a good place to be. Stay tuned. :)

  3. Mayflowers:

Upon waiting for your Endo-lab response, try reading alot of these posts. You can get so much information from the people that post here.

Also, my concern for you is that said that you are trying to eliminate Wheat. If you truly have Celiac Disease, you need to eliminate all GLUTEN, which includes wheat, but not limited to.

As you wait, please read all that you can. The cure to a good life with Celiac, is plain and simple "knowlege".

Hope this will be helpful to you, Lisa

my wife just started wheat-free and feels dreadful. flu-like symptoms, naseaus, shaky. is it from "coming off" wheat/gluten? thanks all.

Was you wife dx's with celiac. Are you going Wheat Free or Gluten Free? I am not an expert, but I don't think that there is any detox after going wheat free.

Please let us know a little more about your wifes situation.........and we can add more imput. Better, than most doctors, I might add. I am sorry that she is feeling so poorly. Hope she feels better soon.

A little more info would be helpful. :)

  4. Lisa:

I can truely relate. It will be a year in August in my attempt to be gluten free. I have not had the outcome that I wanted to achieve. It is a daunting task.

It has been a crazy year for me and now, life slows....It is now a point in re-evaluation for me.

I think every step of they way, you need to see where you are and make judgements as to where you are today and where you want to go tomorow.

Yeah, I get mad on the inside about what I have to do to eat. And, I get mad about the effort and the research, and the choice not to eat anything that I don't know is safe. I get mad that I can't go to a wondeful resaurant and order what sounds good. Can get really angry. And then what............

So I get pissed, or I can get over it. Those are the days long ago. They are over for me. So.. you adjust. You learn to be a better cook. Which I am. But I want those days, with a date night with my husband and a choice of a menue was not an issue or a hardship or an issue with the server.

sorry do be a downer tonight, just in that mood............what is the topic, by the way.??

Is this revelant to the post?????????? <_<

  5. I too have a big problem with gas in the late afternoon. Blouting and uncomfort is terrible as my body reacts to it, I often throw up with lots of air and lots of bubbles. I do have a large hiatal hernia, which I think is the culpret. Pepsid and Asephex doesn't do a thing.

It is getting to the point that I am going to seek information on surgery.

    Anyone else been there?

  6. SLS-Sodium Laurel Sulfate is a detergent that can be irritating to some people. I researched it a bit, and felt I'd be better off using products without it. I had what was diagnosed as eczema on my eyelid for years--used everything to treat it, even Rx creams. When I stopped using products with SLS, it cleared up, and has not come back. It's a little bit of a challenge, like I said, to find products without that, gluten or soy--they all seem to have one or the other. Did you get a chance to try the Kiss My Face Olive Oil Soap? That is very good.

    Patti:

Is that you, how pretty you are. Inside and out. :)

  7. Moongirl:

Some of my discomfort is from a hiatal hernia and will be looking into getting that fixed soon.

If you have been gluten free since 2005, perhaps so gluten is creeping in somewhere. Have you checked for lipsticks, shampoo, etc.

It is all very complicated and complex. To remove all gluten from your diet and lifestyle is quite a lofty task.

Keep being diligent, and perhaps, you will feel better soon.

  8. Well shoot.....The Viking Goddess can handle everything, if not she can behead them

Or better than that wrap them into a boat, send it off to sea, and take an arrow aflaimed and launch it into the boat.

Have a good night sleep up there, we are burning up down here. Sweat city. Global warming, yeah think???

    Sweet deams, Lisa :)

  9. How about just a plain old "bug" like most people get when stress depleated their immune system.

I am talking to myself here..." Sometimes, every time we get sick, we tend to think that every thing is related to celaic. We get sick from others, trees, pollen and coodies from everywhere. We are just like every one walking, just another diet concern"....

    Lisa

Hope your feel better soon B.

  10. Before and after my dx, I found myself walking almost side-ways. I had to watch myself walking down town on the bricks and stepping very carefully as to not stumble. My husband and I have been boaters for 30 years and I would easily jump from dock to boat with no problem. After Celiac, I need his help and his hand to get me on a boat and off. I remember that I froze on a small dock and was unable to move, without his help.

To ease your mind, it did get better with the gluten free diet. I have no more issues, unless glutened, which happens from time to time.

Celiac often shows it's ugly head during a trama, such as childbrith, an illness, stress and.....

Your pregnancy most likely kicked it of for you. Dormant for some time and prehaps intestinal damage when you had no symptoms. It is a very strange disease.

If there are any questions regarding your diet, PLEASE feel free to ask away. That's why we are here.
