I have been sitting here on this support board for a half of a year and I have never heard anyone as hostile as you. I don't know what your trigger response to this to this man was, but it was not appropriate.

We are a support group, we help each other. If there is a fraud that posts, it will be shortly found through the information that is posted. It would take me a long while to determine that. This was his first post, he asked for help and was down on his luck. Who among us should just such a man.

If you could not add support, I would suggest that you not post. This is a highly intellegent group of people thoughout the world that post here. I would suggest reading more than posting.

  2. It's me again, other will add

Dove shampoo is gluten-free, as well a pantene. Burt Bee's lip colors, lubriderm lotion

Betty, ask some one to send you the Delfi-Forum Product List. It is about 90 pages of gluten free product, listed by product name. Down load it onto you computer on Word and read it once a day as I try to do so that I imprint my mind as to what to buy at the grocery store..

Many on the board will send it to you. This will help you more that anything. :)

  3. Betty:

When I now cook rice, I like to use brown rice because it add the fiber that I don't get from bread and I believe that it is much healthier. Cook the rice with Herb-ox chic. boul. which substitutes for salt put the drained black beans in a bowl, add a can of corn, add cooked rice and zap it in the micro, toss with real butter and it's a meal with a salad if you choose.

Emeril's is as spicy as the amount you use - a little is flavor, the more the flavor stronger.

Also, E-Z Marimade in the zip lock pre-prep merimade is wonderful with chicken. But I usually make my own.

    Merinade:

Newmans Own - Oil and Vinegar (or add your own 2-1 oil/vinegar)

La Choy Soy Sauce (is gluten free)

    Honey

    Ginger

Lawyer's Garlic Salt (have not check it out, but I have had no problems)

    Taste to your preference

Mix it it a zip lock bag and merimade pork, chicken, beef over night.

    Grill or broil.

  4. Betty:

There are a countless. Tiffany is the pro-chef on the board. She has posted a cazillion recipies on a thead here.

I posted this tonight on your other thread.

    Baked Chicken Wings:

    Frozen Chicken wings thawed

A little corn oil to brown

    Mrs. Dash Mesquite seasonings

    Emeril's Original

When browned - A little Texas Pete (if you wish)

Mix it all up in a stick free pan and bake until browned

When browned on both sides - take out and put on paper towel

Serve with a bowl of rice, black beans, and caned corn warmed with butter

(I season my rice with Herb-ox Chic. Boul.)

  5. Do you both have the Delfi Produce list of gluten free products, if not someone could sent it to you. I can't but others can.

For breakfast I eat left-overs or Amy's gluten free frozen meals (I don't like breakfast good)

For lunch, I eat fruit, a handful of peanuts or almonds, and a large V-8. or left overs

Dinner options are endless. Tonight we are having black beans and rice flavored with Herb-ox Chic. Boul.

and chicken wings with Emerel's Original and McCormicks Mesquit (Mrs. Dash) seasoning, cooked in the over with a little corn oil, until crispy. They smell soooo good cooking.

Check the threads with cooking recipies. They are so easy and so great.

I have lost my desire for red meat. Maybe it's too hard to digest. I'll probably end-up being a veg. in the long run. I even like tofu, before I wouldn't clean my bathroom with it.

Strangely enough, I am a firm believer that you body tells you what it need. (Thank God, I always hated beer, pasta, bread.......I am one of the lucky ones :) )

Hope this helps. We all have been where you are and not so long ago. Ya gotta be a quick learn.

  6. Kirsten:

Just wanted to let you know that I used to have terrible lower back pain and it felt warm to the touch as if it was inflamed. My back went out twice and spent a week not able to move without great pain. I couldn't bend over to put the dishes in the dishwasher.

BUT.....six months or so, my back only bothers me when I feel that I have been glutened. So, being gluten free, my bet is that you back problems will clear us as well.

    Hope this will be helpful.

    Lisa B.

  7. I think that you are on the right track. If you feel better being gluten free, just continue. Some people want a name to call things. I had never heard of celiac disease until I was dx'd. It was quite a surprize, but a welcome one since I thought I may have cancer.

Testing can be expensive. If you feel comfortable without being tested and you continue to improve on a gluten free diet. Do just that :)

If you have any other questions, please feel to ask and welcome here.

  8. Betty:

I have been gluten free for about 5 months now. (as best that I can). It has taken me this long to heal enough to figure out what it feels to be "glutened". It will take some time to feel better. You probably have several months ahead of you. This is the time to be very diligent about what you eat and lotions, soap, lipsticks, and shampoos, etc...

I still have a long way to go. I cook for my family often and I don't have any problems. Going out is always a problem and very frustrating. Dining out used to be a treat, not now. It is very frustrating to me to order something bland and boring and paying money for it.:blink:

It takes time, but it will happen. Hope that you will start feeling better soon.

  9. First of all I would SLOWLY get the belladonna (donnatal) out of your system. It can be very addictive. I was also perscribed belladonna for stomach problems, before dx'd. It also could be affecting your appetite, and it is most likely affecting your state of mind adding to your depression.

Second, you must east. The only way to get out of this rut is to do it yourself. So she took your house and car and job, don't let her take the rest of your life. :)

Third, please ask and we can send you specific products that are gluten free. The diet is much more healther than others. And it certainly will put you back on the road to recovery.

Good luck and please keep in touch.

  10. If you want to have dinner in one of the Taverns, they will accomodate you well when you present a gruten free card. They will come back to the table and let you know what is safe.

I am finding that most restaurants in larger cities are getting more familiar with the gluten free diet.

We always have a wonderful time walking the street of colonial village. There are also wonderful outlets to shop.

    Have a great weekend.

    Lisa B

oops.....just noticed the date. I hope you HAD a great weekend

  11. Tiffany:

I often get a "white tongue" and it comes when I feel that I have been glutened and associated with brain fog. I have dry mouth and my speech is not where it should be (ie. not fulfilling sentences, as normal).

There seems to be some sort of brain mis-connection.

I have heard about probiotics....if you take antibiotics.....this I don't understand. (if you respond, in lay-mans terms, would be wounderful)

I don't know how you have aquired to knowledge that you have???? I am so amazed, and wonderfully glad that you are a part of this message board.

    Thanks for helping every one.

    Lisa B.

  12. Tammy:

I don't believe, in my memory that this has ever been asked. But, I guess that it stands to reason that it should.

I may be wrong, but I feel that it should not be a problem unless you (how do I say this?? ) put any it in your mouth. I am WAY over this issue, but I would be concerned, as the latex should be powdered free and I would not know what is in the lubricant.

I don't feel that this is any issue to be concerned.

Hope this will answer you question...I'm blushing

Tammy, I think that my answer to you was inappropriate. I am sorry. You asked a serious question, and I in my 50's should have listened to a response. It would be helpful to me as well. This is another avenue of my life that I that I need to explore. Sometimes it's hard to multi-task issues. I do hope that you found some solutions to your questions.

    regretably, lisa B

  14. Yes, it does. I would like to suggest that you download the Delfi Product List and stick to those products that others have already researched already. That will be a monumental help for those just beginning. It was for me.

When I get accidently glutened, I always go back to the list that I know was safe and stay there for a while. It would be a good idea for you to stick to the list of products until you get the hang of shopping on your own at the grocery store.

Hope this will help and if you need to know about specific products, feel free to ask.
