  2. Although villous atrophy is not exclusive of celiac disease, it is considered a crucial finding. Other causes of blunted villi include tropical sprue, malnutrition, intolerance to cow's milk, soy protein intolerance, and infectious gastroenteritis. However, most of these conditions can be readily excluded on the basis of clinical history and laboratory data...
  3. This is a great resource. The information is updated regularly and it is dated. It's always best to rely on your label reading skills, though Open Original Shared Link
  4. Thank you Sandy for posting this! It's good information, but nothing to get too excited about yet. This is the study that is currently being conducted. We have several members that are participants in this study. It is in the clinical stages. This "Cure" is not that at all. It MAY prevent some symptoms of accidental cross contamination. Open...
  5. As waves of nausea, reflux and sour stomach takes over me, I can trace it back to ingesting gluten. Also, with severe constipation, vomiting would not be unusual. Celiac Disease has over 200 symptoms and those with gluten intolerance they may vary. EVERYONE is different.
  6. Please make sure, when you read product information on this forum or others, to check the date of the post - as this one is over five years old. Many time product information is subject to change without notice. As well, it would not be safe to rely on information posted five years ago. ...just saying (as my kids say )
  7. All distilled alcohols are considered safe for people with Celiac to consume. Flavor added after this process may not be. /celiac-disease/gluten-free-alcoholic-beverages-r218/

  9. Hey Sparky! Welcome to the forum. You have found a great place. I would go over your diet, one product at a time and make sure that everything is gluten free. Kellogg Rice Krispies are not gluten free. And as mushroom mentioned, Rice Dream Soy Milk does have a low level of gluten, that some people with Celiac can be sensitive too. Keep a food diary...
  10. Open Original Shared Link I just heard about this recently! It sounds wonderful. This would be a super idea for anyone vacationing in Morehead City or Emerald Isle. I love the idea!
  11. This response from Sargento is misleading. I may fly to the moon someday, too. If the MFS contained wheat, it by law, must be listed as "Modified Food Starch - Wheat". If it is just listed as above, in the US it's derived from corn. This is Sargento's response on their FAQ - updated 1-2010 . Is there gluten in Sargento cheeses? We are...
  12. Open Original Shared Link There are several threads regarding blue cheese here. Most blues should not be a gluten issues. If it had a natural starter, the gluten remaining would be so minimal, it should not be an issue for those with Celiac. Most blues are started with synthetic starter and not a gluten issue. Read the label and choose for your self...

I think it was just a feature that came with the new format. It has meaning, only if you want it too.
  16. Wow is it time for your birthday AGAIN! My, how time flies when you're having fun. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVE! May all your wishes come true! And thank you for your good work within the Celiac Community Worldwide!
  17. Rye, malt or barley would unlikely be used as a thickener, and wheat would be listed.
  18. If that were the case, I would think that having Celiac Disease would be the least of your worries!
  19. Remember, not all people with Celiac have pain and discomfort when exposed to gluten.

  21. I apologize for the non-current list is provided. I generally try to be as accurate as possible. I do find it hard to believe that ConAgra has changed it's labeling policy, after so many years. We in the Celiac community have know that their labels were accurate in their full disclosure of any forms of gluten. I will write to them, requesting their...
  22. Latent celiac disease refers specifically to patients who have abnormal antibody blood tests for celiac disease but who have normal small intestines and no signs or symptoms of Celiac disease. You could have have latent Celiac and your trigger for full symptoms was your illness. It is more common than you think.
