  1. Would the Cardiologists Office have an off hour contact number? I have called our Emergency Room with critical questions regarding meds. Perhaps they can advise you.

  3. The sodium coceth sulfonate - wheat can be added as in Sodium Wheat Protein Sulfonate. do a google search... ttp://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/ingredient.php?ingred06=706030&refurl=/product.php?prod_id=26328&&nothanks=1ch. Look OK.
  4. "I had was that why was there say 6 differant kinds of Olive Oil and only one was gluten-free? same with rice?" I have never seen an olive oil that contained gluten and rice as well (except Rice-A-Roni - obviously) This quote jumped out at me. I am not sure where you are shopping, but if you look for foods that are labeled "gluten free", I am afraid...
  5. Remember that gluten can hide in the darnest places...chicken/beef/veggie broth, soy sauce, worchestershire sauce, lotions and shampoo. Gluten can hide in "natural flavoring" on ingredients listings. Here is a list of great companies who will clearly list all forms of gluten to include barley, malt and rye: Open Original Shared Link Happy cooking...
  6. Learning about Celiac can be quite confusing in the beginning. Here's the crash course: All beers and malt beverages are off limits. Most wines are gluten free as their source is grapes. Distilled alcohol is now considered safe, but few with high sensitivities can react. Any flavored liquor should be approached with caution. Shared toasters, cutting...
  7. You can always take the door off the hinges of their bedroom. That should do it
  8. Keep 'em commin!
  9. I thought that was a great article. Gluten free by choice or medical need, brings awareness and change. Change is good.
  10. Here are the test that your doctor should order for Celiac Disease: Anti-gliadin antibodies (AGA) both IgA and IgG Anti-endomysial antibodies (EMA) - IgA Anti-tissue transglutaminase antibodies (tTG) - IgA Total IgA level.
  11. Wheat and Soy are one of the top eight allergens which by law must be listed either in the ingredient listing or in an allergen statement. Barley, malt and rye do not have to be listed and may be hidden in "natural flavors". 12. Typical? I don't know. But, it sounds like this is an allergic reaction. Craisins are gluten free the last time I checked.

    ARCHIVED Vinegar

Distilled vinegar is now considered gluten free. Malt vinegar is of course not gluten free. Those who are super sensitive may react to the grain based products, but they are few among us. You can do a search here for more information.
  17. Your blood sugar may be off.
  18. I have not heard of Honeycombs discussed as gluten free in the many years I've been here. Nor have I heard of any support organizations declaring them gluten free. There is a hopeful chance that they have had a change in formulation and they are now gluten free. (we're talking the cereal, right?) Let's hope.
  19. My bet it that it's not gluten free. Can you post the ingredients?

  21. No problem at all. Take a friend with you though. The doctor or nurse will tell you what they saw and you will be too groggy to remember what they said. I had to ask my husband four times. I had a mild sour throat and I crawled in bed and sleeped the rest of the day and I was left alone...a good thing! Have no worries.

It took me several months before I knew the difference between having an unhealed gut and a gluten reaction. It would be wise to lay off the dairy for several weeks. In the mean time...
  23. Right! PS: Good to have you back.
