  1. Yum... now that's a heck of a lot better than a pop-tart
  2. Welcome to the board Blackwolf I just sent you a PM.
  3. Select the Recipe Forum, type your recipe and it will make it's way through the current posts and then it will find it's way to the Recipe Forum. Edit: I'm sorry, I misunderstood your question. What newssletter are you refering to?
  4. Never leave home without it and...uh, could you buy three more?
  5. And what time is dinner? or breakfast?
  6. Ah huh! Sometimes there are just not substitutes. But, at least my brain now works in progressive order. I still want one of those darn things. But the satisfaction is momentary and weigh the risk.
  7. Pop-tarts, still uggg. I guess that I am among the lucky ones. I never liked bread, pasta nor beer. Pasta tasted like glue. As a child in the 60's, you could not get a pop-tart passed my lips. It was hard, crusty, dry with little fruit flavor. I do think that something like Toaster Streudel (sp) is more appealing. Similar the the first TV dinner that...
  8. I'm sorry. but once the autoimune reactions kicks in there is nothing much you can do. Immodium can help with the bathroom issues and water can help flush out the system. I have found that it just needs to run it's course. Please don't fee bad. It's a long learning process and it is inevitable that things will happen, especially with children who are...
  9. Cheating on Croutons Hmm... I'd go for the fried chicken at Chicken Kitchen, where everything is deep, dunked and fried, and of course, the long missed McD's Fish Sandwich with cheese. ( I'll go away now.)
  10. Thanks for the drool all over my keyboard Sounds wonderful.
  11. I am sorry that you are not feeling better, but 10 days is a relatively short period of time. After I was diagnosed, it took about 2 months so feel significant improvements. Early into the diet, many people have a problem with dairy and it is suggested to limit or eliminate it from your diet for a while. Double check everything you are doing. Keep...
  12. Wow...with your family history, I would certainly suspect Celiac. Many people here are self-diagnoed and feel very comfortable with that decision. If you have insurance concerns, simple go gluten free without an official diagnosis. If you are unsure if you can be diligent about the diet, I'll go get JerryK and he can talk to you. (JerryK was...

    ARCHIVED Looking For Help

Welcome to the Board If it were me, I would take her off gluten entirely and see if she has a positive dietary response. No doctor needed for that. Although, if you choose to pursue testing, in order for the test to be accurate (as they are not always reliable) she must continue to eat gluten. Many people here are self-diagnosed and feel very comfortable...
  14. Angie, I am sorry that you are feeling bad. I think that you just have to ride it out babe. Hopefully, it won't be a long run.. Hope you feel better soon. Hugs to you, Lisa
  15. Well, I guess you have been found! And no longer lost. How about chicken, beef, pork, seafood, rice, potatoes, fresh veggies, ftuit, peanuts, almonds. In the beginning, thing natural foods, as in non-processed. To spice up your meals, all Mrs. Dash's are gluten free and most McCormicks Grinders are gluten free. So spice up your life and enjoy food...
  16. Ash, this might be something that you might need to see a doctor about that. Maybe it could be a blood pressure thing. Call your doctor anyways.
  17. T-Bird, I hope that you husband is feeling better. I just had a recent glutening and I usually do not get the sharp pain associated with gluten, but I did this time. I took Pepsid Maximun Strength. I wrote the company and found that Pepsid-Reguar Tablets and Pepsid-Regular Complete Tablets are gluten free.....No mention of Pepsid Max Strength. Just...
  18. Jason, I would just stick to the gluten free diet for now. That's hard enough to figure out by itself.
  19. Sorry you're feeling bad. My thought might be Annie Balsamic Dressing. Some of Annies are gluten free, but many are not. I don't have it in may house and I love Balsamic Dressing, which makes me think that it may not be gluten free. Can you list the ingrediences?
  20. Amanda: I have to admit that I did not read your entire post. Can't do it. I have a 19 year old friend (cat) sleeping in my laundry basket as we speak. If she survives the night.......
  21. Don't know much about it. But a couple of peeps here have tried it.
  22. Thanks for posting that Sarah. I'm sure that it will help lots of people.
  23. Carrie: I'll try ---- B & M Baked Beans Bushes Baked Beans Underwood Deviled Ham Spread Hormel Chilli Hormel Canned Corn Beef Dinty Moore Beef Stew Dole Fruit Cups Some Thai Instants Soups - add water and zap Dorrito's - White Cheddar Lay's Staxx Jif Peanut Butter w/bananas.. yum Smucker's Jellies Jello Most Canned Fruit Hormel Pepperoni...
  24. Unfortunately you nor I live in Canada. I know of no free medical care unless you are a welfare recipient. I would contact your local health department and ask them what options you have. Regarding testing. Request a full Celiac Panel and what they used to call an "executive panel". It is a blood test to check for deficiencies or irregularities.
  25. This is actually a good questions. Sometimes we do, but we don't ask why. gfp....this is a good one for you to answer. That is if you can "dumb it down at bit", at least for me....
