  1. Whether diagnosed with Celiac or gluten sensitivity, the diet is the same. You are correct, with Celiac if you ingest gluten you will have intestinal damage, with a sensitivity you can have the very same symptoms without intestinal damage. It is often confusing to learn or explain.
  2. Hey Lynne: If I don't talk to you before tomorrow...MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. COOL
  4. I would wait until Monday. The forum is usually quite on the weekend, let alone Mothers Day Weekend. Baking is not one of my activities. But, there are many of our members do. I am sure they will post.
  5. This topic was started several years ago. We have so many new people on the forum and I thought that it would show some insight. I remember, it did for me. We had homemakers, scientist, engineers, medical techs, therapists, lawyers, teachers, nurses, MD's, professors, stay at home moms who home school. It is so interesting that we all have a common...
  6. I would rather see your beautiful face than a hockey player.
  7. THREE YEARS, NO WAY! (yelling), man I gotta get a life. Looking for a project, any suggestions? I am a little depressed this week. I went to Roses to get a shower curtain liner and they gave me the Senior Discount and didn't even ask my age - I don't qualify. So have fun now, it gets a little pitsy in about 30 years. Guess this whole thread is off...
  8. Congratulations on you anniversary! It truely a monumental task. THREE CHEERS FOR YOU.!!!
  9. Wow, how time flies. Laura, tell that handsome hubby of yours that a nice diamond studded anniversary ring would be quite appropriate, a necessity when you go to all those black tie event in the city. Gotta keep up girl! (You get the good stuff in the early years and as the years pass you get the weed-eaters and leaf blowers). If the date slips...
  10. Jo.R, I am so sorry, we just missed you birthday. Happy Belated Birthday!! To sit down and have a big piece of homemade birthday cake is a gift in itself.
  11. Close to 30 years to a part-time husband for 26 (he traveled three to four days a week overseas) now he is retired full time. I have twice as much husband and half as much money.
  12. Don't know if this is much help, but for me (recently discovered dairy/cass issues) it take a few consumptions to react, or a more generous serving. As in today's lunch: I had salad with my own gluten free blue cheese dressing, mimosa (could be Tropicana, gluten related) and creme brule. As we speak, I am about half the size of the Hindenburg.
  13. Ya'll are grossing me out!!! shivers - been married way too long.
  14. Lister: You sell yourself short and it is too easy to cop out. So you have had a crappy upbringing, so your on your own, so you don't have any support that may be just the way it is. Does that mean that you have to carry that burden on your back for the rest of your life...NO!. Quit living under a blanket of crap and grab your life again...
  15. Welcome Some of our member are asymptomatic regarding the intestinal issue. And many more are self-diagnosed. The Gold Standard was considered the endoscopy and biopsy to confirm celiac, but now the research is indicating the true diagnosis is positive dietary response, as testing can be inconclusive. I was confirmed by biopsy, having no knowledge...
  16. Pedro: When I first started the diet V-8 Juice bothered me and I presumed that it was just a little bit too much acid for me. Now, I have no problem with it and drink one daily. I have never used Amy's so can't advise on that. All of Classico sauces, both white and red are gluten free. Maybe you can try those after some time.
  17. Sarah: You need to talk to your doctor and get some defined answers. What test has he done? What are the results? What is your doctors opinion? Negative for Celiac, but have a wheat allergy is not saying anything much. You need to define this a little bit from your doctor. After you get those answers there are some things that will be helpful...
  18. Please - recheck the pringles chips. Lays Staxx are produced on a dedicate line.
  19. And where is... I presume it is the mail MAN.
  20. LLB: Congratulation! You are now in control of your own health without the needs of a mirage of drugs. What's not good about this. Yes, there may be an adjustment, but it is very doable. Perhaps you can find that hidden creativity in culinary arts. Eating out can be done, just with careful attention. I certainly can understand you being overwhelmed...
  21. I don't know whether this is celiac related, but it is high pollen season where I live. In the early evening, I have to take out my contacts especially when the wind is blowing. My eyes get very irritated. I have learned that all road don't necessarily leads to Celiac.
  22. I have to give you all my sympathies and all the kudos that I know. Being a teacher has got to be the hardest and least acknowledge profession in the world. I have had my little one-two with a few teachers, but never without respect. (well, yes a few who verbally demeaned my children) You deserve a wonderful summer respite. I hope it's a wonderful one...
  23. Jessica: You had a blood test that was positive for Class II Wheat allergy. I am not familiar with Class II. Maybe someone else knows what that means. Do you know the type of test that you doctor ran?
  24. Sounds good. Just a reminder, slowly.
  25. We have a history of getting a little bit goofy during the full moon.
