  1. Emily E: It takes some time to heal, and you are extremely new to the diet. You need to be patient. In some adults it can take up to two years to completely heal. It would be wise to eliminate diary for a while and then reintroduce it after some healing time. Just stick to the gluten and the dairy for now and if after several months, you don't see...
  2. I buy Johnsonville Brats. You always need to check to lable though.
  3. BTW, wine in not gluten related.
  4. This is not bother, but this site is FULL of information at only the tap of you fingers. The site index on this page has countless information. We have all been where you are, and as I have said, the key is learning to read ingredients on products. They do change and what what was known to be gluten free a year ago, may not be currently. You have...
  5. Please go to the site index on the left side of this site and read, read, read. That site holds the answer to ALL of your questions.
  6. In the US, they are required by law to list wheat if it is an additive. Reading the labels is the only way to go. You can use this site for a reference, but the only true way to insure your safety regarding gluten free products is to learn to read labels.
  7. I have read a lot, I have heard a lot, but I seem not to know the answer. Lactose, you can have gluten symptoms. With casein, the protein found in dairy products, can you have the same reaction as you do with gluten, which effect the small intestines with distruction of the villi? Two year out, I am now reacting strongly to dairy, cheese and concerned...
  8. Walter, do you have any meds that they are giving you for your Crohns? Have you verified that they are gluten free? You have two things kickin here. Some how, you need to divide one from the other. Battling two things at one time I am sure is a challenge. Hope you feel better soon.
  9. I would assume that it would be a a health code regulation., ie. water heated to a certain degree and such. If not it should be. But, I don't know.
  10. The detergent and the hot water should loosen any gluten on the glass. Unless, stick to lipstick leftovers. A well washed beer glass should not cause a concern.
  11. The lemonade may be an issue. Some of the Tropicana juices are not gluten free. I would stick to the unflavored vodkas and coke or seven-up products. The more elements in a product, the more the risk since you cannot read the ingrediences at a pub or restaurant. Keep it simple. I am not an expert, but I think that glasses in a restaurant are required...
  12. We had to give a reception this weekend and needed blue cheese dressing. I looked at the lable of Marie's Blue Cheese and I put it back (can't remember, but it was wheat related). Check you labels carefully.
  13. Are you taking any B-12 suppliments? That might help with the fatigue and the dizziness.

  18. Clan Thompson has a program that you can purchase with mainstream gluten free product listing and down load it on your PC or say a Palm Pilot. I'm sure you could find information at www.Clan Thompson.com,
  19. Long past there was a 17 page thread debating the fact that toilet paper had gluten. After contacting many companies and their response it was concluded that the "glue" that is used is modified corn starch and not gluten related. The inside of the plastic bag containing the TP may be dusted with corn starch, also not gluten related.
  20. The Celiac Sprue Association has updated their recommendation. Gluten in removed during the distillation process. Any distilled liquor is considered gluten free. Some has added flavors and are not recommended. With that said, everyone is different and some do react. On this sites home page you can find a list of safe liquors.
  21. Please do a search here for "toilet"paper" and you will get some very extensive information.
  22. Toilet paper and paper towels are not issues regarding celiac.
