I can attest that at times,Ithought to my self that I should not have been driving. We live in a very small community of 6,000, but the county is 14,000. Stop lights are few and traffic is slow. Good for me. But, on the upside...it has improved with a good diet. Read, study, do mind games, exercise that head organ. Through malabsorption, it took...

Oh yes, I agree with Nancy and that is a very scary place to be in. But let me add, lack of short-term memory. I am not the same person that I was before I became Celiac, but after almost two year I am pleased to reclaim some of what was lost. I may not ever be 100%, but still working on the rest. That is why is is SO VERY important to be diligent on...

Driving down the road and forgetting where you are going. Starting a sentence and totally loosing your train of thought. Not being able to verbalize the correct word of a discription. Not being able to count money back, which you have done all you life and get a blank. Lack of concentration. Reading and not remembering what you have just read. A feeling...
  13. I know that this is a random question a Celiac Message Board. I know that there are a number of professionals out there. I need some help in preventing a bank from demolishing "contributing" properties within the historic district. There is some legal issues that prevents the demolition, with regarding to FDIC rules. Random, I know....but perhaps...
  14. Karen: Happy Birthday my dear friend. I hope you have a very wonderful day. Lisa
  15. I have looked in my dining guide and nothing other than what you have mentioned. I have found, in larger cities, alot of chiefs are aware of gluten free dining. Call a head, when times are not busy and talk to the manager of the chief. Restaurants such as Blue Water, I would assume would have the knowledge of gluten free. MOI has the best shrimp and...
  16. I would recommend that you contact the company directly and ask about their gluten free status, instead of relaying on others experience. That is always a wise option.
  17. Cindy: Glad that you experience was a good one. I too has scalloping as well as blunting of the villi, which confirmed by diognosis, Celiac. But, it's best to get you results and then you know what you are dealing with.
  18. Gluten is a protein found in wheat, barley, malt and rye. That protein, when ingested, will kick off an autoimmune reaction in which you body will attack itself. Celiac is forever. Whether you reacted to the bread or not, you are still causing damage to your intestines.
  19. What was the source of the hidden gluten?
  20. Positive blood work is adequate to diagnosis Celiac.
  21. A kindly welcome from alot of us. Learkers "creep" but they learn.
  22. Welcome WAKE: Yes, it absolutely beat the alternative. Welcome to the club. My first suggestion would be for you to read, read, read from this site. You will learn more about Celiac and it's side effect than from any doctor. Start off with some simple meats, seafood, rice, potatoes and fresh veggies. Limit or eliminate dairy for a while until...
