  1. Sami All Teflon pans that are scratched need to go. I threw out all my wooden spoons. A good watch in heat in the dish washer should do a satisfactory cleaning. A separate toaster is a must. Most bread you buy in the frozen section of stores. Kinnikinnick loaf bread is the best that I have found and they do have a website. Watch out for wheat...

Welcome Courtlynn It is often recommended that someone beginning the gluten free diet, that they eliminate dairy for a while. When there is some healing, then reintroduce it gradually. 11. BR: If modified food starch is listed, by US law, it is required to list wheat as an ingredient. Sounds like you are good for go, unless you see wheat in the allergins statement.
  12. I would concentrate on the gluten because that is the bad guy that does the damage. As you heal from the gluten damage, you may find that you become more sensitive to casein. To my understanding, gluten will cause damage, but casein causes symptoms and not intestinal damage. I am not 100% on that, though. Others are more informed.
  13. Angel: Sometimes, I seem to forget how disrupted my diet is for those around me. My husband is very supporting, especially because he doesn't have to pay for restaurants much any more. Give him time. Men, I have found, don't like disruption in their routine.
  14. Jules: Good to hear from you again. I think that most of us have celiac skeletons somewhere. My deceased father had stomach problems for as long as I can remember. He had terrible gas, which he always blamed on the dog. I don't know of anyone else in my family, but I suspect a few. It's nice to have some validations. Lisa. BTW, congrats on...
  15. Try going dairy lite or eliminating it for a week and see how you feel. Therein will be your answer.

  17. I was going to say the same thing Nikki said. Very often after you remove gluten from your diet, you find other sensitivities. I have found recently, after almost 2 years gluten free that dairy can bring on the big bloat. Also, the shampoo can be "as simple as that". Dove and Suave are gluten free (there are several others). My bet is on...
  18. I am not familiar with the numbers. Some of the moms should be here soon. I can reiterate what you probably know, testing with a biopsy is not always reliable in young children.
  19. The answer to your question is YES. Celiac has over 200 symptons and energy and mental function or lack of, are the more prominent ones.
  20. Why don't you try some safe cold cuts, such as Hillshire Farms. They have a wide variety and I believe all are gluten free. All Boar Head meats and cheeses are also gluten free.
  21. What a terribly inconsiderate thing for him to do. I certainly hope that he regrets his actions and gives you a very sincere apology!
  22. What brand of cold cuts are you eating. Are they deli sliced? Deli slicked meats are a risk for cross contamination.
  23. Texas Roadhouse, in Bangor used to have a gluten free menu, but they may be gluten free friendly.
  24. Go out and treat yourself to Red Bridge Beer...it's gluten free, tastes good and you can be part of the crowd again. Whenever I know that I wil be out, I always take my own salad dressing with me. Salads are almost always available. I have also order hambergers with out the bun, steamed seafood... Austins Grill - 750 E. Street Buca di Beppo ...
  25. Yellowbird: It never seems to mystify me why doctors recommends that we continue to destroy our intestines. You may have not been TOTALY gluten free for the month before testing. It is very complicated and it involves your shampoos, creams, lipstick, gloss, soy sauce, Worcester sauce and the list goes on and on. Your blood work may be positive. The...
