    ARCHIVED Mcflurries?

If the glucose syrup was derived from wheat, it by law, must be listed at GLUCOSE SYRUP (Wheat). If it does not indicate wheat, its derived by something other....In the US. The offending protein is removed during processing and it's my understanding that any remaining protein would not be detectable. It's not one level of processing, but several. ...

    ARCHIVED Mcflurries?

Yes,this is true. If an ingredient is generated from wheat it, by US law, must be added to to the label. Glucose and Dextrose are a couple of ingredients that are HIGHLY processed and the remaining gluten may not even be detectable.
  5. I thank you all for you replies. I live in "The Prettiest Town in the South" consisting of 6,000 people. Cities are an hour and half away. There are reasons why we live here, but accessibility to variety is not one of them. We have a Walgreen's (a new and exciting store) and a CVS. The only option for a health store, would be the one I might open...
  6. BB will clearly list any form of gluten, in readable print.
  7. Thanks Rachelle..but desperate for color to off-set this rapidly graying hair.
  8. A one year old search here found: Revlon - Color Stay Lipstick Neutrogena - Lip Boost Intensive Moisture Lipstick Lip Moisture Therapy Lip Nutrition - all Anyone with a current confirmation?
  9. I'm looking for some commonly available, recently company confirmed, gluten free varieties of lipstick. A flea couldn't read the ingredients on a small tube of lipstick. I'm out of my special Mary Kay and no time to order. Thanks.
  10. YES, it is very confusing and it will take some time to even understand beyond the basic label reading. Reading labels is a 101 class. Interpreting labels is a 501 class. Lipton Onion Dip and Mix is Gluten Free. It is the ONLY Lipton dry mix that is gluten free. Some ingredients, although derived from a wheat/barley/malt byproduct, will be processes...
  11. Yes, Lea & Perrins is NOT gluten free in Canada. But some other brands are (can't remember what they are, though) ...yum, I love home make chex mix.
  12. The purpose of this Forum is to do just that...share and vent at times. Feel free to do both. The Gluten Intolerant Group, Celiac Sprue Association and the Celiac Disease Foundation all have have local support groups. Perhaps you can find one in your locale.
  13. I don't know what part of the country you are from, but Whole Foods have frozen pre-make pie shells. Or you could contact the Gluten Free Galley. I understand they are working of mixes. Open Original Shared Link Apple crisps can be made with crumbled up cookies. And there is a recipe floating around here for an apple crisp (or other fruit) using...

  15. If you Google, "Orville Redinbacker - Gluten Free", (or any product), you might find you answer. But, I expect it is gluten free.
  16. I am and thank you. Hopefully we will get up into your neck of the woods early fall.
  17. Open Original Shared Link Listed on the FAQ for Suave ( a Unilever Product - the good guys) Do your products contain Gluten? Answer: Products with any wheat, rye, barley or oat-derived materials are labeled with the names of those derivatives. Hydrolyzed protein from wheat, rye, barley or oat may contain gluten. 19. I would recommend www.CeceliasMarketplace.com for annually published product guide. I will try to purchase from companies such as Unilevel, that will always list all forms of gluten on their ingredient listing I use daily: Lubriderm Lotion Mary Kay Lipstick Chapstick Pantene Shampoo or Dove Crest ToothPaste Tone Soap
  20. With Celiac you have to be careful about what enters your mouth. Along with that concern, are lotions, lipsticks and even shampoos that can get into you mouth when you shower. Some people with a wheat allergy may have issues with topical gluten, but generally with Celiac Disease, you must ingest gluten to react. If you would like....we can get...
  21. Open Original Shared Link ...above lists contact for Lithuanian Coelaic Society.
  22. I'll have to try that Karen....if I can ever catch one.
  23. Nope, not a worry...although icky.
  24. I believe I saw the Dr. Oz Show about Celiac Disease (a portion of his show). His script was dated, inaccurate and he had no business spouting professional knowledge on a subject his staff had not researched adequately! I certainly expected better. Gluten can be a mischievous kind of thing. Sometimes, we never can pin point the source. But, it keeps...
  25. Yup Ditto on the Envelopes.....not a worry, but still yucky.
