It definitely is reassuring to know that my pancreas isn't self-destructing, but instead is just malfunctioning Yeah it definitely does take my mind off things in a good way. My cough settled itself down today, and now I just need my nose to get it together before Saturday because it is not attractive I read about drinking a lot of water...

ok so more good news...my IgG subclass 4 test was not elevated, so that means no autoimmune pancreatitis which in my mind means that my pancreatic function should be completely reversible!! With the good comes the bad, and what a week this has been My Grandma passed away last week, and even though I knew it was coming, it is still much harder than I thought...

ARCHIVED Trying To Understand What My Reaction Means ...
powerofpositivethinking replied to Beccels's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
cyclinglady is right with regards to the panel. The only test I was positive on is the DGP IgG even though I am not IgA deficient. Unfortunately, I know everywhere does not run that particular test, but for me without it, I would still be wondering what was going on... A full panel is: TTG IGA/IGG DGP IGA/IGG EMA Total IGA serum level Do... -
ARCHIVED Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency
powerofpositivethinking replied to Gemini's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Since researching is my way of coping with things, here are several articles I've found very helpful in explaining celiac disease in connection with exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. This is my favorite quote from the first article, "In contrast, decreased production of pancreatic lipase without glandular destruction is associated with Celiac sprue,... -

ok so not so good news first...my MRI wasn't pre-authorized so I had to reschedule. I scheduled it at a facility out of state, so I just scheduled one in state, but it's about two weeks away. My small bowel follow through is Tuesday, and I got a call from the GI doctor's office today saying I needed to reschedule my capsule because if all the barium hadn...

not to sound cheesy, but I'm so thankful for all of you, and for all of your help over this past year I could get my questions answered, vent when my family was doubting my need to be gluten free and writing on here helps me cope with my feelings. Lisa, I took your list of nutrients to be tested and without that list I would have never found out...

I do not mind at all In other news, I had to reschedule my capsule endoscopy for next week since my testing has to go in a certain progression, and they couldn't schedule me for the one test until next Tuesday. I'm getting the MRI of my abdomen this week, as long as insurance clears, and then the small bowel follow through and capsule endoscopy next...

powerofpositivethinking posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
so I have to take a lemon magnesium citrate for my upcoming capsule endoscopy. has anyone used the Walgreens brand? I haven't been able to find anything definite and am going to e-mail them, but thought I'd check here as well. Thanks! Open Original Shared Link -
I've got to admit on this one I'm a little scared, but to those around me, I've been keeping myself super upbeat, so that my family and friends don't worry. On the thread where I've been writing down my testing journey https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/99439-need-help-with-tests-results-please/page-9, I had a fasting blood sugar level of 100, and I was...

ARCHIVED Need Help With Tests Results Please
powerofpositivethinking replied to powerofpositivethinking's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
so after having fat malabsorption come back positive, I was able to get fecal elastase testing done to test for exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. more on that in this thread: https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/106464-labcorp-stool-test-results-and-questions/ I had another appointment yesterday, and anything below 100 indicates severe pancreatic insufficiency... -
ARCHIVED Anyone Have Adult Diagnosed Cystic Fibrosis?
powerofpositivethinking replied to powerofpositivethinking's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I did ask the doctor about getting tested, and he was receptive to it. He said he will have to make some calls to verify that the gene testing will go through insurance since he didn't want me to get slammed with a massive bill. -
wanted to come back and update with my results. I had another GI appointment yesterday and did get diagnosed with severe exocrine pancreatic insufficiency from the fecal elastase testing. Anything below 100 indicated severe insufficiency, and I had a 72. After I get other testing completed, which will include the capsule endoscopy this week, then I will...

ARCHIVED Anyone Have Adult Diagnosed Cystic Fibrosis?
powerofpositivethinking replied to powerofpositivethinking's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
thanks, everyone! I don't get sinus or lung infections ever which is why I believe it's probably celiac related. Way back when my first Vitamin K test came in low I remember the GI asking, no cystic fibrosis, correct? I told him not that I was aware, and there's no family history. I'd rather get the gene test to be sure, so I'm hoping he'll agree... -

although I am still waiting to visually see the results, I got a call from the GI doctor's office the other day telling me my pancreatic elastase testing came back with abnormally low numbers indicating pancreatic insufficiency. I am also malabsorbing neutral and total fats. I keep seeing the prescription med Creon coming up in my searches, but are there...

ARCHIVED Anyone Have Adult Diagnosed Cystic Fibrosis?
powerofpositivethinking posted a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
To be upfront, I have very limited knowledge of cystic fibrosis, and it is only something recently I have been researching. Just to be on the safe side, at my next GI appointment I want to ask to have a gene test done for cystic fibrosis. I've been diagnosed with Vitamin K deficiency, neutral and total fat malabsorption and although I am still waiting to... -

ARCHIVED Unclear What Is Considered High Dgp
powerofpositivethinking replied to Peterpause's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
welcome! was you IgA level checked as well to make sure you are a normal IgA producer? each lab has their own values, and it looks like for your lab anything over 15 is considered positive. DGP IgG was the only test I had positive on the celiac panel, and I've done so much reading about it over this last year. At first my GI wanted to dismiss it...
