Speaking of crumbs. My first scones were a total failure. Tasted good but were very dry and crumbly. I crumbled them up and froze the crumbs. I use it for meatloaf. Works great. The cinnamon in the scones gives a unique taste to the meatloaf and is just wonderful in lamb loaf. And I didn't waste all that high priced flour!

That's if you are in a hurry. Otherwise sour the soymilk as you would regular milk. Just leave it in a warm place. Claire

Would you mind providing the exact measurements on each flour that you used. Thanks. Claire

Can you spell out the exact measurements you use? Thanks. Claire

OSTEO TIPS Here are some tips for dealing with osteo - or RA: If hands are affected - do exercise with your hands in moderately hot water. Flex all fingers together, then separately. Do any hand motions that you can think of - hands must remain under water. You can get a greater range of motion under water that allows you to do motions that would otherwise...

ARCHIVED Soaps Shampoos & Things
Claire replied to Claire's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Take a look at this website. Read the disclaimer carefully. This is a guideline and not to be taken as a guarantee that thee listed products are gluten-free. You still need to check it out. It does though provide a good starting place. Open Original Shared Link I will start a new topic for this. Claire -
Hi Rachel - So you wonder a lot, too - I see. If they are going to administer a Zonulin antagonist then they expect to prevent gluten from crossing the intestinal wall into the blood stream. Gluten can only damage tissues, cells, neurons etc. if it gets into the blood stream where the immune system can 'see' it. That's when the mimicry thing kicks in...

Hi Rachel - I have been thinking about this too. This 'find' is still quite awhile from the marketplace but when it does become available there are many celiacs who will gravitate to it and that certainly will impact the gluten free market. It could become very difficult for people wanting to remain on the diet (i.e. not wanting to go for drug relief) if...

Can you provide a source for the info you mention above re 'wheat currently grown is virused'? Claire

This may or may not be useful for understanding allergy testing. I was skin tested by an allergist for just about everything known to man. Negative across the board. I had the Blood Print Test offered by Immuno Labs (FL) and came up with sensitivies to a large number of foods including all grains except rice and oats. I agreed with most of the test but...

ARCHIVED How Do You Cope W/ The Fatigue?
Claire replied to Jenn2005's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Many companies market this product. I personally buy mine from Swanson Health Products - request a catalog from their website or call 1-800-437-4148. I have requested info on all their products that I use including this one and have been told that they are gluten free. After your first catalog you will get a new one each month. I have had no complaint... -

ARCHIVED How Do You Cope W/ The Fatigue?
Claire replied to Jenn2005's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I have posted this reply before but here goes again. By June of this year I had total fatigue - wiped out completely many days - too tired to get out of my own way. I was discouraged and depressed because I just couldn't accomplish anything. I got tired combing my hair! In July I started taking CoQ10. This is not a medicine. It is an enzyme. I... -
Long ago there was what was at least thought to be a cure. I do not have the literature right at hand but I do have it and will look for it after my weekend guests leave. Hopefully I can send you the info next week. I wouldn't get my hopes up though. Hold tight. I will be back to you. Claire

ARCHIVED Endomysial Test (ema)
Claire replied to Claire's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I would pose the question to your primary physician - whoever you consider that to be. May be your GP or other. Don't let them brush you off. Unexplained anemia can be a sign of either significant or slow, less significant internal bleeding. It should be investigated if all other possibilities have been exhausted. ARCHIVED Puts Things Into Perspective

So sorry to here this. Loss is tough. You had a brother for many years. Some of us have never had that experience. That too, in a very different way, is a loss. Feel you sorrow but be grateful too. You had him for all those years. Take care. There are many prayers for you coming from all of us who have written here. Claire -

ARCHIVED Results Negative, Family History, And Symptoms
Claire replied to Hall100's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I personally feel that any doctor suggesting a gluten challenge is making a grave error and unnecessarily stressing the patient's immune system not to mention risking cell and neuron damage. I have been told (by a neurologist) that I would need to be on a gluten inclusive diet for at leat six months to be sure that the test results were not a false negative... -
ARCHIVED Itching And Prickles
Claire replied to Karla99's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
First off to repeat myself, I do not have celiac disease. I have not yet been tested for non-celiac gluten sensitivity. I have been tested and diagnosed with Type II, Delayed Food Reactions and LGS. On the reactive foods list is wheat, barley, rye. among many other things. Before my diagnosis for DFR and LGS I had constant itching (intense - especially...
