  1. Pamela's Baking and Pancake mix makes the best pancakes that I have found.
  2. I believe the blood panel is enough to be positive for celiac. You are right that if you go gluten free the villi will heal, but you are pregnant and to ensure the baby receives nutrients I think you should remain gluten free. I just don't think the biopsy is necessary to prove you have it. If I had known what I do now about celiac I would have just had...
  3. Hi Melissa and welcome. It's hard to say what is normal, I slept a lot after. The gas pain should pass shortly but if it doesn't I would call your doctor.
  4. I have a kitchen aid and just love it. My mom just got a bread machine from cuisinart with a cycle for gluten free and she seems to really like it
  5. Just a thought, it took me almost 3 years to get better and then only because I was put on steriods for something else, maybe they should be looking at refactory sprue? Hope he gets better
  6. Thanks Laura: Now if I ever get to NYC! I will eat until I burst!
  7. My take on it was that Elisabeth was a bit nervous talking about it and Rosie actually helped her through it. I may not agree with Elisabeth's political views but I give her a lot of credit for coming out of the closet so to speak. As far as Barbara, at least she asked and even though she couldn't say the word correctly, that was just like so much of the...
  8. I agree any publicity is good for all of us. I think we all have to remember that she is young, talking about your bowels is not fun and was probably difficult for her, as I have said it would have been impossible for me at her age. If it helps just one person then I think that is great. I read that in New York you can actually go in a pizza place and...
  9. I guess I just look at it as if one person hears about the diagnosis celiac as it realtes to being diagnosed with IBS or some other disorder and they google celiac it just may help them. As far as the beer, so what, for people that like beer I imagine they are quite pleased to find there is a gluten-free beer. I personally don't drink it but my brother...
  10. Guess all the people can't be happy all of the time, I think it goes like that. As I stated I am just glad it was mentioned at all, anything helps. I think everyone must remember this is a talk show, they briefly touch on many subjects, if you want a more in depth program I think you need to look towards hour long shows, a program that will spend a lot...
  11. google LandOLakes gluten free recipies, I made a chocolate chip cookie out of that and they were wonderful. I used authentic brand 4 flour blend flour and they were great!
  12. Jillian: It does seem overwhelming at first, but once you get the hang of it it's not so awful. I am with you though, I do crave a good pizza and wish I lived in New Youk, or could visit there because I have heard they have pizza places that make gluten-free pizza, wow! Ask any questions you want, people here are very helpful, and welcome!
  13. I agree, at least she spoke about t. My other thought was that many people may have symptoms, they will go to the doctor and then have answers to what is wrong. More people diagnosed equals more food and hopefully cheaper prices. I am just glad they talked about it, and I think they will probably mention it again.
  14. Wow I had no idea and that is probably something I would grab thinking it would be safe. Thanks
  15. I heard him say his daughter cannot have gluten and then Sylvia Browne said people need to be tested to an intolerance to gluten, that's close to what was said anyway
  16. I made peanut butter cookies, used a regular recipie, substituted a 4 blend flour and added 1/2 tsp. xanatham gum to it, they turned out great. I also made chocolate chip cookies off the back of nestle chocolate chips and added 1/4 tsp. xanatham gum, they were great
  17. I just used it to make chocolate chip cookies, used the regular recipie but added 1/4 tsp. x gum to it. They turned out great. I also used it to coat chicken and it tasted good. Happy baking!
  18. I went to Red Lobster in Chico California and they told me they didn't have anything that was gluten free
  19. I think she's just stating that we have been trying to get Oprah to do a show for quite some time. I don't think she was telling you not to do it.
  20. Your daughter is beautiful
  21. It sounds like it could be. You can either go gluten free and see if you feel better or go to the doctor and have the blood test. Just don't go gluten free and then see the doctor, it could cause a false negative. Hope you feel better soon and welcome

  23. Richard: Tell me about your picture, it's way too funny!
  24. I don't know about the vitamins but you should call your doctor about the cramping. Every pregnancy is different. The doctor should be having you coming in monthly for the first 2 trimesters, please call him.
  25. WOW Nancy that's great, I'll do it. Thanks
