  1. Karen - When my mom went in for her colonscopy she also had a narrowing and they just simply had to do the barium right after the colonscopy. The doc said the colonoscopy probe simply couldn't go any farther. It was either a narrowing, they thought, or just a weird juncture in her colon. She didn't have anything wrong with her. Amanda D
  2. My three dogs do this constantly. Usually to burrow themselves in the ground. I've never found anything that really helps it - just seems to be an annoying natural instinct!!!! (Mine also eat their poop on occasion, it makes me want to upchuck.)
  3. Dee- I've been diagnosed with Celiac for about a year and a half now. I wanted to write about my experience... Before I was diagnosed I would get breast infections (nursing a baby) and every cold would turn into horrible sinus infections. I also generally felt run down. I always remarked that I thought I had crappy immunity. Honestly, I've barely had...
  4. FYI - I was told by Eucerin today that they can't guarantee any of their products are gluten-free (incl. aquaphor).
  5. Thanks guys, I think what I'm going to do is let my husband and kids have them, but I probably won't eat them myself (we're having chili tonite)...).
  6. I suppose it's plausible. But I'm biopsy diagnosed and my gastro said they have a "zero" tolerance policy for gluten (she's even wary of the gluten-free oats???) so until I hear from her I can't have any gluten ever again...
  7. Hi - I'm just posting this again to see if anyone answers...?
  8. Does any celiac out there eat Fritos corn chips (in the USA) safely? Thanks - A
  9. Hi guys. It's freezing her in Wisconsin. -2 F can you believe that? I'm cracking! Anyways, I need a good lotion and before I was diagnosed I always used the Eucerin products like Aquaphor, etc... They aren't open yet to call and I haven't seen anything on their site in their FAQ's. Do you guys know if their products are gluten-free? (For instance...
  10. Man, you have a great doctor!
  11. Hi guys - These are all really interesting responses... I've noticed yoga has been a huge deal for me - I noticed another individual out there talked about it...between that and lots of water it's been a good year and a half on the diet and I'm pretty stunned at how much better my immune system is now. I'm not sick as much as I used to be - when I had...
  12. I use it and am a member of the organization. I've found it really helpful, along with their quarterly newsletter (good recipes in it).
  13. Again - Many thanks...I'm still writing down your responses - these are great. A
  14. Boy - You guys are terrific. I have really, really enjoyed reading all of your information. I'm actually taking notes - I figure that I don't know everything and I've still got a lot to learn about taking care of myself and my family. More, more! Anyone else...please feel free. I love to hear the way you guys are putting your physical and emotional health...
  15. Hi guys - I'm sitting here thinking today, like everyday, that I need to exercise, dump my coffee, get better sleep, etc. As celiacs, what are some things that you guys to do try to keep yourselves "healthy"? I'm interested in incorporating some NEW things into my life. Many thanks for your suggestions - A
  16. Hi guys - Interesting thread. Just thought I'd throw this out there because I called both Planters and K-C recently (probably within the last 6 months). I'm a neurotic celiac, I call about everything - my phone is practically attached to my ear. I was told K-C's paper products were all safe from gluten and I was told by Planters that they would list...
  17. Boy - bet she's going to feel a ton better! Hope you're recovering well Patti! A
  18. Hope she's doing well! May I ask - what type of surgery was she having - nothing too serious I hope!?
  19. Anyone (U.S. market) know if Dean's Sour Cream is gluten free or not? Only ingredient I don't know is rennet. Thanks...do I even have to worry about sour cream having gluten?
  20. Really? You drink it... I did not get sick AT ALL. I'm fine today and I always have a reaction about 24 hours after I ingest a gluteny- thing. What's really odd is - on Thursday morning I called and checked and the woman said yes, traditional and signature should be fine. I didn't drink it yet. I called on Friday just to double-check and the woman and...
  21. Who knows???? Erg. I'm not sick so far. I swear I read in one of the lists lurking around that Gevalia unflavored reg and decaf are fine. Whatever. I threw it out!
  22. Seriously, Jestgar, I have no idea. BUT I am PISSED. Could they run the beans on lines with wheat. How flipping stupid.
  23. So, I had my first cup of Gevalia traditional blend coffee this morning. Just one cup. It tasted great. I called Gevalia this morning just to check and they told me ALL of their coffees have a TRACE of gluten in them. Wow. Hope I don't vomit.
  24. This may sound really simplistic. I try to completely distract myself with being consumed with my health or with food. What I've learned to do is get crazy busy with something. Whether it's my dogs, or taking up a new hobby - like building a dollhouse for my kids with shingles and paints and wallpaper, painting a room or deciding I'm going to totally get...
  25. Does anyone out there drink Gevalia coffee - I got the traditional and signature brands for Christmas - the ingredients say 100% arabica beans...but I just want to double check with you guys. I called the company and they said 'I think those should be all right'...? (It's just smelling better than my Hills brothers 50/50 right about now) Thanks again for...
