ARCHIVED Starting To Wonder If Gluten Is Even My Problem
answerseeker posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
To recap my biopsy and blood tests were negative but because I was hospitalized due to asthma and on a lot of prednisone prior to my endoscopy my GI doctor said its possible I can still have celiac and the prednisone interfered with the results. Anyway as most of you know I've been gluten free since July 2nd. I felt great my first month but now I'm having... -
ARCHIVED Apparently You Guys Were Right, It's All In My Head!
answerseeker replied to Renegade's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
"Given the way you've been responding it just feels like everyone is feeding an internet troll." My thoughts exactly, seriously everyone needs to stop responding! It's frustrating when others post and get like 1 or 2 replies and this crap gets 38? Really? -

No reply or advice is going to satisfy him. We've all tried and are thanked by rude comments. I wouldn't bother anymore seriously. -
ARCHIVED Interplay Between Gluten And Dairy
answerseeker replied to Kat L's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I just posted about this, you can see the post titled does lactose cause the same symptoms as gluten. My joints have been so bad this last week, my neck hurts and my fingers hurt and even holding my phone for a short while causes pain. This all seemed to come on when the gluten intolerance came on so I think for sure it's related. I used to eat yogurt... -
ARCHIVED My Doc Is Going To Test Me For Food Allergies.....
answerseeker posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I told him about the reaction I'm having to dairy and like many of you suggested he thinks it could be an allergy vs just intolerance. He's going to run blood tests on a few of my foods I'm reacting to. Question, do I have to continue eating these foods for the tests to be accurate? He's going to test wheat as well. The cool thing about this forum is... -

Remember we are not doctors. I think you are putting way to much responsibility and blame on this forum. I mean the subject line alone reads we are to blame basically. I can't really help much anymore and not sure anyone else here can..... -

Well it doesn't seem to be gluten number one Number two you don't like this forum and have made it clear that we are rude even though you have received tons of advice Number three I have all the symptoms your talking about and I've been gluten free over 2 months. Guess what my dr is suggesting? Lactose or even a milk allergy because I actually get short... -
ARCHIVED Does Lactose Produce The Same Symptoms As Gluten For Some?
answerseeker posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
So the advice I've received here is to cut dairy to see if that's what is causing some symptoms to still linger for me. I wasn't sure if its dairy or I'm still getting cc'd somewhere so last night I did a little experiment. My dinner was completely gluten free, brown rice spaghetti, meatballs (gluten-free breadcrumbs), and gluten-free sauce all made in... -
Just get tested at least. You have nothing to lose there. And if symptoms improve on the diet you have your answer. It's not that bad. The first couple weeks I had withdrawal and craved gluten like crazy! I was tired all the time too. I cheated once during that time. But now it's been over 2 months and I'm seeing some really positive changes. The biggest...

My pain was around my belly button and felt like stabbing/cramping pain. People have described it as little people with pitch forks inside your belly lol. That is actually how it feels. I would also get a burning pain in my rib cage (sometimes very sharp) and around the top of my belly. It also would radiate to my back And if course the loud gurgling

ARCHIVED Question On My Sons Results
answerseeker posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
TISSUE TRANSGLUTAMINASE IgG result 0.28 range <=0.90 Index Tissue transglutaminase IgA result 0.08 range <=0.90 Index these are his results which are negative obviously, however it seems the IGA is extremely low. Is this the IGA test or should I ask for a different test? He doesn't show any symptoms but he was very sick when he was a toddler... -

Maybe you should get tested I think it's just a blood test? -
ARCHIVED Falling Off The Wagon
answerseeker replied to momIM12's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I gave in a couple weeks after my diagnosis and told myself maybe the dr got it wrong I'm just going to test this! I ate a subway sandwich and was sick for days! It's hard but the people on this forum are so supportive. I'm new too and they have answered all my questions and got me through it ;-) -

I was going to suggest Sjogren’s syndrome too. Since you said tears won't actually come out -

But your damaging your intestines. It's hard but you can't heal until your completely off of it. -
I googled it and coconut is high in fructose and can cause problems in people who have fructose malabsorption. It's on the list of foods to avoid when you have IBS or other digestive issues :-/

Oh gosh funny you mention coconut milk. Yesterday morning and this morning I used coconut milk in my cereal and also in my coffee. Both mornings I am so nauseated. I drove my daughter to school and was trying to hold it down because it felt like it was coming back up! and I had D this morning. I was about to post if anyone reacts to coconut milk. Ugh this...

ARCHIVED Super- Sensitive Flour Bag Reaction
answerseeker replied to 1desperateladysaved's topic in Super Sensitive People
My IGE was also very low and was told I don't have allergies, however I would get full blown sinus infections, I have asthma, and allergic rhinitis. So my allergist performed interdermal allergy testing and tons of allergies showed up! I think we can not only be IGA deficient but also IGE deficient as well. I suffered for a year with multiple sinus infections... -
Thanks so much, that helps! I'm not going for the colonoscopy. Seems if I'm already losing weight (I'm down to 105) the prep would just end up making me lose more. I doubt it would find anything anyway!
-
Thank you! My labs were inconclusive too so I too am NCGS but I still have nutritional deficiencies and weight loss so my GI thinks I still have Celiac. I was on a lot of prednisone for my asthma before my endoscopy so he believes that interfered with it. Since prednisone heals inflammation it won't be visible. I'll look at that app too. Thanks for the...

that's what I figured. my Grandfather died of colon cancer (wondering if possibly from undiagnosed Celiac) but I'm only 40 and no bleeding. I have rosacea too so I feel ya on that one. I think I will pass on the colonscopy and wait 10 more years for it lol. I can bet it wouldn't show anything. If I had Croh's I would be sicker not healing it's just...

ARCHIVED Kind Of A Silly Question But Do Children Need Gluten Foods?
answerseeker replied to answerseeker's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
do you have your recipies posted somewhere? that all sounds so yummy! -
I emailed my dr. about the continued gurgling and loose stools. He said that is a symptom of an irritable bowel and wants to do a colonscopy. Are they horrible? Are they worth it, what else could it possibly reveal?

ARCHIVED Kind Of A Silly Question But Do Children Need Gluten Foods?
answerseeker replied to answerseeker's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I haven't found a gluten free one, I was referring to the ones I used to make for my kidsusing regular flour. Don't worry I'll be experimenting with gluten free flour very soon! As soon as I master it I will post my recipe but I did find a gluten free sourdough starter. I'm dying for some sourdough bread!!!! haven't tried to make it yet though -

good point. they still get their gluten at lunch and they still love their quesidillas and that's pretty easy to prepare for them without cc myself.
