  1. I think this question is very interesting, b/c i dont really understand... For me, i never really felt "normal" in terms of my digestion problems b/c i was sick ALLLLL the time. I mean, everything i ate made me sick and i knew that could not be normal. Did i worry about what i ate? no, everything made me sick so why bother. But i find myself MUCH more normal...
  2. Wow broncobux, except for the tequila, u and i should be drinking buddies! And funny about the wine b/c I totally have a seasonal disorder when it comes to wine- i can only drink white wine in the summer, i drink red all year round
  3. This is exactly right-- i am a tax lawyer-to-be and it is true that u are unlikely to be audited...if you are audited, however, this will raise some questions and you do need to be able to document everything. Lesson: always keep receipts for several years - u never know when u will need to document an expense and it is much easier if u have ur original...
  4. Poor you dani you just cant win! i have never gotten sick from Nestle, and im not sure about your dairy question but i just wanted to say that often fat free or low carb stuff will make me sick...i dont know what the ingredients are in the carb select stuff, but my experience is that those kinds of things have a lot of extra crap in them that make them...
  5. sorry i dont have an answer to ur question, but i just wanted to point out, while we are on the topic of GNC, that their smoothies are NOT gluten free- i was getting sick a lot last summer and having them all the time so i finally called and they put this white powder called "vanilla smoothie mix" in all their smoothies, which has gluten in it. Made me sad...

  7. I thought i read somewhere that all flavors were gluten free, but i didnt see it on the delphi list. Has anyone contacted them recently? I was glutened this past weekend so i really dont want to take any chances with foods right now and there are natural flavors in them so i wanted to make sure. Thanks
  8. Good for you guys- the ones who have always been lunch-bringers. I hate it! I mean, im getting used to it, but with my busy lifestyle it just adds that much more stress to not be able to grab something on my way to work or grab lunch and dinner. Actually, i really dont mind bringing food, but what really bothers me is carrying it.. I live in NYC and its...
  9. So, a few days ago i posted a recipe that i got from the flyer of a store in midtown manhattan. Well everyone loved the recipe so i decided to email the store and thank them, b/c i find that they always have lots of gluten-free products and I like to reward stores that make the extra effort. Well, this is the response i got IMMEDIATELY, i seriously love...

  14. Good luck w/ the cookies cheri! Judy-- yes, everyone tells me im crazy but ive worked all through law school...any little bit i can do helps to cut back on the loans! But ill be graduating in a few months (YAY!) so its almost over...when i pass the bar ill make an enormous gluten free cookie cake and send it to everyone on this site so we can all have...
  15. Judy-- thats hilarious- maybe i should find out how much it costs for her to deliver to NY-- i might not be able to afford my apartment anymore but at least i would eat well when my roommate made them, she made the recipe exactly as it was.. but im guessing that the key to make them less cake like would be to adjust the flour ratios---OBVIOUSLY im not...
  16. Vincent- did u end up using the rice milk? so glad this is a good recipe-- i will have to email my food store to thank them- and encourage them to continue to print recipes!!!
  17. haha, there goes Judy again.. changing around all my good recipes well my roommate followed the recipe precisely, but i dont think theres any harm in experimenting- i usually do...though u should definitely not use potato flour instead of potato starch. Judy, i think u and i should probably attend a "gluten free baking 101" class - ill never get used...
  18. Judy had requested that i post this recipe- my roommate made these for me on my birthday and they were AMAZING! 19. Hi guys, just wanted to let you know that I emailed Guiltless Gourmet to find out about their products. I know i had seen that they were gluten-free somewhere but I know some of their chips have natural flavors and they came out with a few new flavors recently so i wanted to be sure. Well, according to the email, all of their products are still gluten free...
  20. ha, i know! I thought about it the next night when i went to dinner w/ my dad and he said "let me try your sorbet" and came inches from my food w/ his fork from his apple pie...i slapped his hand away and handed him his spoon-- totally reminded me of our conversation at Risotteria
  21. I'm with Meredith on this one...first of all, Atkins chocolate could never satisfy my chocolate cravings, as i think they taste like fake chocolate... but i have not eaten them since gluten-free so i cant help you. I have, however, had clif nectar bars and they are very good, though i prefer to just pack trail mix. And for my chocolate cravings, i have a...
  22. while we are on the subject of alcohol, my friend just sent me this article (sorry if this has already been posted somewhere). My favorite parts are "celiacs are a thirsty and vocal lot" and "it does have a trace of a beer taste"
