    I completely agree--I find cola without caffeine flat. Boylan has caffeine--Whole Foods has it.

    It's unfortunate that your GP wouldn't test you, and of course he's wrong about your being too old to have Celiac. (things like this make me so mad....) You are right though, the test would probably come back negative since you are already gluten-free. Still, if it were me I would go ahead with an appointment with the gastro when you can and discuss...

    You could definitely react to what is added to meats, or even from cross contamination in a butcher case that also features things like crab cakes or breaded cutlets. I was speaking about the person (Connie) who's friend was allergic to beef--I assumed that she had a true allergy and wasn't a Celiac/GI. Could have been wrong about that though.

    I don't know why it tends to happen at night/early in the morning, but it is a common symptom. My gastro told me that it's associated with Celiac, although you can certainly have one without the other. Have you had testing for Celiac? MC is diagnosed by biopsying samples of tissue from the large intestine during a colonoscopy.

    Hi Leesiugh! The only vitamin I've tried that I can tolerate is the Everyday Multi by Kirkman Labs. I would rather not have to send away for them, but there wasn't much choice and I was wasting a lot of money on ones that I couldn't use.     Could be the tapioca--I can't tolerate it at all.

    I love soda, but only have it as an occasional treat. I drink Boylan's Cane Cola which is made with sugar and not hfcs. I found that once I switched to a more natural soda, the ones with hfcs started to taste harsh. I loved Pepsi and now it tastes too acid to me.

    It's most likely the protein in the beef she's allergic to.

    Another option would be to use a gluten-free flour blend in your recipe. I don't use wheat flour or any non gluten-free baking mixes in my kitchen at all--the flour gets into the air and settles everywhere. I would think that biscotti would adapt well to gluten-free--I've been meaning to try it.
