  1. I use pure maple syrup, too. I use it as a sweetner on other things in addition to pancakes.
  2. Yea Ursula--I think it's deinately worth a try for her. Like I said, I have not had one sore throat in 10 months (the time I've been gluten-free). No more gaggging or feeling that there was something in my throat, either. (now, if I could say the same about my stomach....)
  3. There was a thread on this several months ago. That's where I found out what it was! I did have them from time to time--but have not had them again since going gluten-free. I've not even had a sore throat (knock wood!) At the time I was bothered by them, I also had a problem with feeling like I was going to choke when swallowing solids. I found it...
  4. Betty--Thanks lady, you, too
  5. Betty--does this mean you're feeling better? Hope so!
  6. I get symptoms for 2 weeks. The first week is worse--for instance, I was glutened by CC 2 days ago. From 2 hours after ingesting the food, I have had nausea, gas, low ab. cramping and I'm very depressed and apprehensive feeling. I had to go out earlier, and was afraid I was going to throw up--I really never do, but the nausea is that bad. This will probably...
  7. Before I was gluten-free I had terrible night sweats. They were much worse when I was in my 30's. I would wake up in the middle of the night totally drenched. That was during the time I was taking lots of antibiotics and steriods. Now, I'm getting them due to menopause--and intrestingly, these are not anywhere near as bad as the ones I used to get.
  8. Judy, when you get a chance, check your email!! I just sent you one and it had to do with the mayonnaise. I hadn't checked on here yet.
  9. Yes, it is difficult for some (most) people to step up and take charge of their own health. Especially when it involves change--it's easier for them to blame it on the doctor than listen to their gut. (literally and figuratively) If a person has a problem, but keeps doing the same thing over and over, the results will never change. At some point, you have...
  10. YOU GO--NINI!!!
  11. Yes--I get stomach pain now when I have a gluten reaction. It's an actual pain right across the stomach area. Now, I can tell if it's gluten if I get the pain. Before being gluten-free, I had cramping and nausea, but not the pain. Now, I get all 3
  12. That is terrible--I've said this before, but I think some of these doctors are trying not to diagnose Celiac. Why? That's the part I don't understand.
  13. Hi Swatson and BB22--Welcome! The muscle cramping and bone pain are symptoms that affect a lot of us. After 7 months gluten-free, I still get the cramping in my legs and feet quite often. The pain is better, though. Now when I get a gluten reaction, the pain in my legs and back comes back. I also had the tingling in my face, arm, legs and feet--along...
  14. Pixiegirl--I had never heard of your condition, but I googled it just now and there is a ton of info. there. I only read for a little while, but from what I read, wheat/gluten is a problem for a lot of those with EG. There was a lot of info on food sensitivites associated with it. If it were me, I'd settle in and do some reading on the subject--I read...
  15. I currently take Vit. B12 in a tablet form. Its a slow release tablet. I understand that the body absorbs the sublingual form better than a pill. Could anyone point me to a gluten-free sublingual B12? Thanks.
  16. I also have completely flat feet. I didn't know there was a connection--interesting.
  17. Berneses, I don't know if this helps at all but for years Drs. said my nausea and dizziness was because of sinus problems and allergies. The thing was I never had any classic nasal symptoms but I don't think they could come up with anything else! (these 2 symptoms were the main ones for me until 2 yrs. ago when the celiac disease came on big time.) Anyway...
