  1. Generic, Thanks for sharing this with us
  2. Ditto. This is something to be sorted out by your doctor. From personal experience, sometimes it takes a second medical opinion to get to the bottom of what's going on.
  3. Mine were not more than 10-15 points out of range, either. The first doctor that found them on my blood testing didn't really know what to make of them--she said she usually sees them much higher--this was a GP, before I had ever heard of Celiac. I don't think I've ever had symptoms that I could feel from the elevated LFT's.
  4. Yes. Mine were slightly elevated before I was diagnosed and recently when I was glutened over a 2 month period of time due to a change in manufacturing of a product that was formerly safe, mine went back up again. I had a full workup, and by the time all the testing was completed, my enzymes went back to normal.
  5. There are two separate issues here--"flour" listed as an ingredient must be followed by the word "wheat" if it is indeed from wheat. The fact that there is primarily wheat flour in the baking aisle in the supermarket is something else altogether. One has nothing to do with the other.
  6. 006, What you heard about MFS is outdated/incorrect information. Happygirl is absolutely right--if MFS is made from wheat, it would have to be listed as such on the label. If just "modified food starch" appears, you can rest assured that ingredient is gluten-free.
  7. EGD is an esophagogastroduodenoscopy, or more commonly known as an endoscopy I had adhesions from a c-section 24 years ago. They were taken care of during a hysterectomy last year. So far, so good.
  8. I think you're absolutely right... I was also muscle tested by a Kinesiologist before I had ever heard of Celiac. He told me to avoid, among other things, wheat, oats, barley and rye. He also said that if I found a noodle at the bottom of my soup bowl, not to worry--and put me on suppliments that contained things like wheat germ. He was "in the right...
  9. My chiropractor/accupuncturist in New Jersey also used muscle testing for certain things.
  10. In the year or so before I was diagnosed, I had spots like what you describe on the inside of my arms and on my fingers. Mine itched, though. They reminded me of chicken pox. I don't know exactly what they were, although they disappeared after I went gluten-free, and haven't reoccured.
  11. Hi Rebecca, Stash Teas are all gluten-free--they don't use the stuff in their factory. Several of the varieties are also caffeine free. The Decaf Chocolate Hazelnut is especially yummy
  12. I was reading some posts and saw that you belong to the catholic church and only recieve wine, I also do this but I also find it kind of hard to deal with sometimes, well anyways if you want to talk please do I am here!

  13. Judy-- Great news! So glad that he was able to take care of it for you right then and there I go tomorrow to my new GP, and plan to ask about the wooshing in my right ear. I used to have problems with wax build-up years ago and would have to go and get it flushed out once in a while. I remember that doctor saying it was too bad there wasn't...
  14. Gosh--I'm sorry you're so sick I had the stomach bug recently and that nausea was reminicant of morning sickness! I use Pacific Chicken Broth and throw in a handful of Mrs. Leepers alphabet pasta (you could just use broken up Tinkyada spaghetti or something similar). Personally, when I feel like that, I like a little something starchy like gluten...
  15. I have contacted Sweet Baby Ray's by phone, and was assured it was gluten-free. I have personally eaten it many times with no ill effects, and I'm highly sensitive. All that said, it may be that you are sensitive to one of the ingredients in the sauce, or it just doesn't agree with you. I've been at this long enough to think that anyone can be sensitive...
  16. I fall asleep quickly--I'm so exhausted when glutened, but I also have trouble staying asleep. I wake up several times during the night--my anxiety kicks up and I end up laying there worrying about everything and thinking things to death.
  17. I am truly jealous! The place sounds wonderful
  18. I appreciate your kindness and support, and all that you contribute to this board!

  19. Patti, you are always such a great help to everyone. Thanks always!!!

  20. Hi, I'm new to the forum and glade to meet a "Jersey" girl here. Look forward to your help.

  21. I haven't actually eaten any gluten on purpose, but I'm pretty sensitive and react to cross contamination. It takes about 2-3 hours for me to begin to feel the effects. My stomach will begin to rumble, and I will be in the bathroom soon thereafter. This will go on for a day or two. About the time my stomach is settling down, the anxiety, clumsiness...
  22. It's really interesting that you should ask me that. Yes--one evening, on a Friday, I did get worried enough to call my doctor. This was about a week into the diet--and the numbness and tingling just got much worse, sort of all of a sudden. Since it was pronounced on the left side, I panicked and actually thought about going to the emergency room....
  23. Glad you're sticking around I used Hain Safflower Oil and Arrowhead Mills Organic Popcorn--I bought both at Whole Foods. If you try it, let me know how it went.
  24. It's nice to see you again, too I'm really glad to hear that you're doing better and even working again--that's great! I'm right there with ya on keeping things simple. I do much better that way, too--but it does get boring. I did try some popcorn the other day--I popped organic corn in the safflower oil--and didn't react! I avoided corn for months...
  25. Hi Jenny, Honestly, it sounds like what you suspected--the mix of everything It was probably just too much for your stomach--especially after eating so simply and feeling better. I am a bit sensitive to canola--it dosen't give me a huge reaction, but I feel a little "off" after eating it. I use mostly olive oil--when I need something light...
