  1. I was just checking with my copy of Dr. Green's Celiac Disease-A Hidden Epidemic, and there is an interesting chapter (pages 179-185) on why we can be on the gluten-free diet and still not feel better. He discusses how unintentionally taking in gluten, lactose intolerance, pancreatic insufficiency, bacterial overgrowth, microscopic colitis, and other factors...
  2. I don't know what the official word is on that, but I continued to have problems with frequent diarrhea even after eliminating processed gluten-free foods, was dairy free, and had identified and eliminated my food intolerances-- so my GI did an endo with biopsy and a Celiac Blood Panel at 3 years post gluten-free. She was specifically looking for refractory...
  3. But of course I was alone for dinner last night so I made myself pancakes. Probably shoulda had some wine too.....

  7. As you know, I'm up in your neck of the woods, MM--and I agree that it's pretty gluten friendly here
  8. It would seem that way--knock on wood, I don't get sick nearly as often as I used to before being gluten-free.
  9. New Years Eve we'll probably stay home and fall asleep..... New Years Day, hopefully, we'll have our family Christmas dinner here postponed from last Sunday.
  10. Let the machine do the work Silly and phun!
  11. Things are pretty much back to normal here as of this morning--the Governor's office called for a snow emergency yesterday. Mark went in to work yesterday without too much difficulty (although to be phair, our cars are in a parking garage so he didn't have to dig out like a lot of pholks did). The winds were awful--finally dying down this morning...
  12. I've been gluten-free since 2005 and I've never come across or heard of any soda that contains gluten. Doesn't mean that there's not one out there but I doubt it.
  13. You could try to run it though another wash using baking soda--maybe turn off the washer and let it soak for a little while before continuing.
  14. Coke and Pepsi products are gluten-free. I stay away from HFCS personally, but do like a soda now and then. I love Boylan's Cane Cola and Pepsi Throwback (sweetened with sugar) when I can find it.
  15. Yep Especially the stealing part
