  1. About the only specialty products I buy anymore are Lara Bars, Tinkayda pasta, Enjoy Life chocolate, GFP Bread Mix (for pizza), their Muffin Mix (for banana bread), and their Pancake Mix. Other than that, it's just regular, naturally gluten-free groceries.
  2. Using your own cup, I would feel very safe taking the wine.
  3. Actually, Kraft doesn't have a gluten free list for the US. They will clearly list any gluten in the ingredient list, and will also state if the product was made on the same lines as something with gluten. Per phone conversation 1/11/11.
  4. Again, Starbucks' statement on their website is this-- "Where can I find allergen information? For specific questions related to allergens, click on our Customer Service page or give us a call at 1-800-23LATTE 1-800-23LATTE (235-2883). Due to potential cross-contamination during distribution and sale, we cant guarantee that allergens...
  5. Hi Paula, I would feel very comfortable using the generic. I take a Mylan med daily for my blood pressure.
  6. This was so good--I started the onions in the olive oil and then added the shredded fresh carrot (about 2). A few minutes later I threw in a box of frozen chopped spinach that I had microwaved for 7 minutes. I let all that saute together for a couple minutes, added the rice, then the broth. When I took it out of the oven, I added 2 tablespoons (or so)...
  7. My gosh--sounds downright mouthwatering
  8. We love David's stuff too. I took that oven risotto recipe and have made it with the chicken, without as a side dish, and added spinach, shredded carrots, a little garlic, and more cheese for a really yummy main dish. Using veggie broth and simply omitting the chicken (maybe subbing mushrooms) would make it a nice vegetarian meal. Tonight however, it...
  9. Interesting--I'll try that. Thanks
  10. I do too, and for me there doesn't seem to be any set food or pattern that sets it off. I get the pressure, belching, and also coughing and hiccups (both at the same time ). I don't take anything for it, as I find that otc antacids make it worse. Walking helps, as does drinking water, and elevating the head of the bed. I second Lisa's suggestion...
  11. Wow! Haven't heard of that in years. OMG--I have naturally curly hair, and in the 70's, I used to slather my freshly washed hair in Dippity Do and wrap it around my head--anchored securely with bobby pins overnight. What a sight....
  12. We do too! As a matter of fact, just a few minutes ago my non gluten free husband suggested we have pizza tomorrow night for dinner. We also like the crust a little thinner so I do as Peter does and get 3 crusts out of a box of mix. I generally use one, and freeze the other two as balls of dough. They thaw in the fridge overnight and come out perfect...
  13. I can't use Bare Minerals either due the bismuth--makes my face itch. I really like the Everyday Minerals, and use their foundation. I tried a few mineral foundations after I stopped the Bare Minerals, and really liked how Everyday offers lots of colors and finishes--and has sample sizes so you can get the perfect match with your skin. For blush I...
  14. I had problems with excessive ear wax also--had to have them cleaned out by the doctor periodically. Since being gluten-free, I have not had to have them cleaned out once; it's been over 5 years.
  15. I agree with you, and when you think about it, how many people take antacids and other stomach remedies regularly without really considering what might be the root cause of their symptoms and difficulties? I pop Enjoy Life Chocolate Chips or have one of their dark chocolate candy bars when I need chocolate. Not real exotic, but gets the job done
  16. Ugh--soy is firmly out for me too. I'm glad you finally pinpointed the culprit
  17. At one time, I lived in Georgia and volunteered in the school my kids attended. Each year, they would have an appreciation lunch for all the volunteers and I would always look so forward to the cheese grits. One of the best things I've ever eaten!
  18. I used to love to make Jiffy Cornbread into muffins. So good! I now use and really like The Gluten Free Pantry Cornbread Mix. Easy and tasty
  19. Great news!!!! Nice to have you back
  20. I just had another thought too--there are folks who have gotten some relief with the SCD Diet. Open Original Shared Link
  21. I use cornstarch to make a cream sauce--I whisk the cornstarch with milk over medium heat until it's thick and bubbly. Then stir in the butter, salt, pepper, or whatever flavoring you use. Pacific Foods has a new line of cream soups-- Open Original Shared Link
  22. Further reading revealed that Dr. Green mentions 6 months of symptoms and villous atrophy. Of course, I'm sure different doctors have their own criteria--mine obviously did. Personally, I think 4 months is early. I didn't really feel significantly better for 2 years....although we all heal at our own rates.
  23. Yeah, I thought so too. I had tea instead
