Did you really? Do you have to have surgery? My surgery is next week to remove the polyps from the uterus as well as remove the gallbladder. Sigh. I see that it's been a few months since you were diagnosed. Are you feeling better? That's what I'm still waiting for.

I went to the store and bought a bunch of individual flours...maybe I should take them back and just get all purpose. I'm fairly sure I'm over thinking this.- 19 replies

ARCHIVED Favorite Gluten Free Cookbook/website/blog
icelandgirl posted a topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Does anyone have a favorite gluten free cookbook, website or blog that they use for recipes? I have tried to recipes from glutenfreegoddess and both were so good. I grabbed 2 cookbooks at the library. 1 had no pictures...I'm super visual so I took that right back. The other has yummy looking recipes, but everything with flour has 4-6 different flours...- 19 replies

I have so felt that...it's not fair, etc. I've had digestive problems always I think. Constipation, diarrhea...having to run to the bathroom. Always had headaches, terrible periods, etc. I appreciate all the support so much! How long did it take you to start feeling better after going gluten free? -
It's so crazy. In December I went in for a cleaning and the dentist was telling me how bad my gums were and that I was starting periodontal disease...yet the hygienist found no buildup. I brush and Floss a lot. 10 days ago I was diagnosed with celiac. Could this explain my teeth? In December I was also found to have uterine polyps and gallbladder...

I've heard great things about trader joes. We don't have one here but there's one in Boulder. May have to make the trip. I sure would like to see some positive results from all this. I'm in the process of reading that exact book. The only thing I haven't liked so far is reading all of the cancers I seem to be at risk for because of this and the other... -

Thanks for that info too! I love to bake and I'm not sure what to bake with. I grabbed a celiac cookbook from the library and every recipe calls for like 4 different flours. Crazy...especially because they are all expensive. I have an appointment to see a nutritionist next week. I really hope it helps. I'm not even sure if my insurance covers it.... -

Tka...thanks for all of the info! I'm headed to Walmart today to see if I can find those English muffins. They sound delish. I love bread. I was having eggs this morning and an English muffin would have been so good too. This board has been so helpful already. I still don't feel good, but I do feel more hopeful. -

Hi neighbor I found out about a restaurant in Manitou Springs that is all gluten free. I will be checking that it. Sounds delish. Everything sounds delish. I have noticed that food commercials are everywhere torturing me. I hope this hunger thing gets better soon! You said you aren't feeling better? Isn't that discouraging? I'm on day 9 and... -

Those sound yummy! I'm in the U.S. so don't have that brand...but I got some flour and I'm going to try this in the morning. Where in the UK are you? I've been to London twice and I loved it! -
ARCHIVED Borriello Brothers Gluten Free Pizza
icelandgirl replied to icelandgirl's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Thanks Laura! Do you make your own pizza? If so, do you use a mix for the dough or make from scratch? I like the idea of it but not sure where to start. -
I don't know if it's a thing or not, but last night I took it out on my husband. I was angry that I'm not feeling any better and really I just want my old life back where I felt good and ate what I wanted. Sending you a big (hug).

Thank you Tonalynn! I am also hypythyroid and have hormonal crud. I was shocked. When my Dr said he was testing for Celiac, I was like I'm not going to have that...but now I do. I'm in Colorado Springs, so just down the road from you. I have not found a support group. I looked and found one, but the contact info wasn't valid. I was bummed because... -

Has anyone had the gluten free pizza at Borriello Brothers? If so, how was it? Is it safe? It's only been a week since my diagnosis, but my family does pizza/movie night on Fridays and I really want to be able to do this with my kids. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks for all the information. I haven't been eating just whole foods...I will have to work on that. It's hard because I have a husband and 3 kids. What do you eat for breakfast? Today I had chex cereal and then later had a gluten free (labelled) Greek yogurt. I will work on doing the meat, rice and potatoes. What about fruits and veggies? How do... -

First...Thank you all for your nice replies! It's such a weird feeling right now. Tired, hungry, nauseous...A little dizzy. I'm sk glad to hear that it's withdrawal and that it will get better. I was diagnosed a week ago with celiac. I was relieved to get a diagnosis after feeling so bad for so long, but now I feel kind of depressed/alone/confused. I don't know anyone else with this disease and am hoping here I can get some advice and moral support. Encouragement, something. SInce my diagnosis I've been gluten free...I think anyway. It seems...
