  1. I'm really sad that I ate it. I wouldn't intentionally eat anything with gluten. Having some GI issues this morning...was it the candy or something else? I don't know.
  2. I really wish I had read the entire label...I wouldn't have bought it. I saw gluten free. Have to remember every label every time.
  3. Oh my goodness! I was going to post about this today! I ate my first GoPicnic today. As I was shoveling the chocolates in my mouth I saw that they contain wheat with that codex approved thing. I spit out the one in my mouth but I'd already had 4. I'm so scared I'm going to get sick. Any thoughts?
  4. I'm super excited for you! I had D constantly for months...had a solid BM after a month gluten free and was so excited. I told my husband...I had a normal poop...me!
  5. Hey all...just a little update... I went to see the GI doc yesterday...he was very nice and very helpful. I told him my story and ended with so I want to talk to someone who knows something about celiac disease. He looked at me totally seriously and said, "What's celiac disease?" And then laughed. Anyway, it was really nice to talk to him...
  6. Hey Georgia Guy...are you feeling better today? One thing you could do is keep a food diary of what you eat and the symptoms you get. Someone on here suggested that to me and it helped me figure out some stuff that bothers my digestive system and confirms that I do best when eating whole foods.
  7. Thanks Irish. When I went through all of the stuff years ago that led to brain surgery I thought I had learned to be my own advocate...but in this situation I completely forgot it. I have to do that. Doctors do not know everything and the only person that knows what's going on with me is me. When I read what others have been through, it makes me...
  8. Ugh...that stinking gallbladder. Had mine out in February. Keep us posted...hope you feel better soon!
  9. Why, thank you! I wish I had told him more of what I've learned but when he told me I needed to stop reading all this stuff I just gave up. Sad...he's been my doctor for 16 years. Hopefully the next time he gets someone in there with celiac he will do things differently.
  10. I'm definitely going to ask the GI. Out of curiosity...how old are your kids and did they test positive?
  11. Yeah...my doctor had never heard of other AI'S being associated with celiac including thyroid. When he called me after talking with a GI he admitted that the GI had confirmed what I said. He told me he learned something from me. Should I ask for my money back? Should he pay me? Lol
  12. Lisa...thanks as always for the help and cheering on. It really helps knowing I can come here. I walked out of that office and cried. Could not believe it. What business does he have diagnosing something he has no idea about? Ya know? I'm glad to be going to the GI next week. They say that celiac is one of the diseases they treat...so I'm expecting...
  13. I completely agree. I don't want them to go through what I've been through.
  14. Thanks for your advice Havanesemom...I don't need a referral either. I scheduled an appointment for next week with a GI for a consultation.
  15. I thought it was crazy too. And I told him that I would not be doing that for any reason. I've been cross contaminated and been sick for over a week...not going to deliberately ingest poison. But I just found it so upsetting that he could diagnose me yet know nothing. Nothing. Didn't even know about ties between thyroid and celiac. Said...I've never...
  16. Thanks again Gemini. I will not for any reason eat gluten...no worries. I don't want to be sick for a week or more. I'm not doing the biopsy either. And I'm good with that. I've had so many symptoms for so many years...it's incredible when I think over my life. I'm actively looking for another doctor. How do you find one who looks at the person as...
  17. Thanks Gemini...I want to hug you. I'm breathing and relaxing. I'm really bothered that the Dr refused to check my antibodies. It's been 5 months. He said there was no reason to...ever. I've been looking at Dr's...what will my insurance cover, etc. My faith in Dr's is really shaken and it was years ago. I've had medical issues for so long...so...
  18. Yeah, I was angry. Now, I'm just kind of sad. Disappointed too. I'm still thinking changing Dr's is the way to go. He wouldn't re-test my antibodies. I'm wondering about a DO instead of an MD. It seems like they might be more whole body focused.
  19. Let me start off by saying thank you to anyone who reads this whole thing...cause it's going to be long. And if no one reads it, maybe it will help me to type it. Because right now I'm angry, sad, frustrated and confused!!! In January, after months of all day diarrhea, headaches, brain fog, pain, I went to see my GP and he had the results of my...
  20. Hi there...just wanted to add something. When my kids have had diarrhea for any reason the pediatrician has always said to not let them have apple juice because it can make it worse. So...maybe try hydrating with coconut water, water and ginger tea. Another thing would need eating a gluten free version of the brat diet and see if that helps. I do understand...
  21. I'm sorry I left that out. My primary symptoms were GIVEN related...mostly lots of D. As I said in my post, I have honey other times without issues. I do think fat may be the issue. My baking pan is not non-stick and per the recipe I lined it with parchment paper. I threw out all my flours when I was diagnosed and thoroughly cleaned. The only flours...
