  1. Both high fat and high sugar give me D...not sure if it's the lack of gallbladder or something else. I had my gallbladder out 2 weeks after diagnosis so I never got to see how I did gluten free with a gallbladder. I'm doing a trial elimination of soy and dairy...After 6 days I don't notice any less bloating.
  2. Ok...thanks. Will have to try to add more of those. Have you ever done a quinoa "oatmeal"? I saw a recipe for one and it looked good. I miss oatmeal...but I just can't handle it.
  3. It's crazy how much food we go through. My oldest will be 14 this week and he can put away some food! I've been doing a lot of my shopping at Costco and that does help for sure. I'm curious. I know you're vegetarian...can you tell me where you get most of your protein from. The reason I ask is that I find I need protein with every meal or I just don...
  4. I don't have good tips but could use some too. I'm a stay at home mom of 3. :-)
  5. Thank you again Kareng! In such need of chocolate now. I don't know that coffee bothers me. The problem I'm having besides this peeing thing is a bloated feeling all the time. It's so uncomfortable. Any thoughts? So...I decided to cut out dairy, soy and eggs for 2 weeks. See if I feel better. Then try to add back in one at a time. I was thinking...
  6. Coffee is so good! I love it...and I'm weaning of of it. I was at 3 cups a day...now at about 1 1/2. But, I'm sad...no gluten, no soy, no dairy, no egg, no coffee. I really want chocolate and I can't find any that doesn't at least have soy! But, I'm hoping that this will somehow help something. Every day is frustrating. Your chicken soup sounds...
  7. Hey kareng...sorry...didn't think anyone else was following. :-) is that soy and dairy free? I will have to look for it. Black coffee makes me not happy.
  8. Hey Beth and Dee...do either of you drink coffee? If so...what do you use for creamer that's dairy, soy and gluten free?
  9. Wow...so what does that mean for you? Where do you go from I'm here?
  10. It's crazy how much it all costs too. Urgh. My son's best friend and family went to California on vacation this summer. He asked if we were going anywhere...ummm...nope...medical bills. Sad. Just have to keep hoping that we get better right? I've decided it's best to go in to the doctor expecting nothing...that way you don't get let down. It can feel...
  11. I will be looking for those too. Really wanted something in my rice tonight. Thanks Ruth!
  12. Oh man...that's rough. I have been there though...I've had that embarrassing result...so disgusting. Makes you feel less than human. I have a rice protein powder that is dairy and soy free. Got it at Whole Foods. I add it to a smoothie. It's not highly caloric, but it's something. You could do something like that with a banana and maybe some berries...
  13. Lol! I will...If you promise to do the same? How are you doing? I just made it to 6 months...kind of thought I'd be better than this...ya know?
  14. Thanks across...sounds miserable. Mine is somewhat improved today. I had a 3 hour period between trips to the bathroom which was amazing! I just want to feel good...ya know?
  15. MissHaberdasher...I've lost faith in doctors at this point. That's a hard place to be. I used to have such respect for them. It wouldn't be a bad idea though to go to an allergist to see if maybe you have other food allergies. Maybe find out the ingredients in that dessert first so you can tell the doctor what you ate.
  16. Hi Matt...I had this for months...All day every day. My husband would joke that I was going to bed with my boyfriend (the heating pad). After diagnosis and being gluten free it's a lot better. I don't have this daily. I do get it if I've been glutened or eaten something that bothers my system...but I don't go to bed with the heating pad every night anymore...
  17. Just an update for anyone following... I saw the nurse practitioner today. Did another pee test and it was negative. Did an exam and didn't see or feel anything she was concerned about. I'm scheduled for an ultrasound on the 8th. Kind of a wait but their office only does them Tuesdays and Fridays. The first available was the day I should start my...
  18. I did have a time that I felt like things were getting better. April was great! Since then I've had lots of issues though. I do keep a food journal to try to pin point what bothers my system. Also, I still can't do raw veggies without issues and I'm 6 months in.
  19. Today its 6 months since my diagnosis...I feel myself tearing up writing that. The day I was given the diagnosis I was so relieved to have an answer and so hopeful that I would get better. I'm still struggling so much.
  20. I hear you kareng. I just feel discouraged...I do. I'm 42.
  21. Beth, that's so very scary. I guess I am a bit of a downer now...but man this is hard. Tomorrow is 6 months since my diagnosis. I thought things would be overall better by now. Sigh...All we can do is keep trying though.
  22. Whoa on the allergy shots!! Really?? I was telling my husband this and he's like whoa, does your Dr know what he's doing? What the heck. I started allergy shots in January...could they be doing this? Just thoughts. I feel like my body hates me too. I've had the same thoughts as you. My greatest fear is that I won't be around to raise my...
  23. Hi Dee, When you get these problems how long do they last? I'm going in tomorrow for an exam with my gyno(fun) and likely an ultrasound to look for possible cysts or fibroids. You made me laugh telling them yep, it's irritated. Ha! Yeah, mine's irritated too. I'm tired of waking up at night to pee and peeing all day. I will look into the diet...
  24. Oh my...that sounds so perfect. I'd love to do that with my little girl! Will you have access to a fridge or something to cook on? That would make a difference.
