icelandgirl replied to icelandgirl's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Thanks for all the info Nicole. I do think it could be celiac, or thyroid, or other hormones, or lack of gallbladder. I'm a mess!- 144 replies

ARCHIVED Hormones, Hashi's And Celiac- How Does This All Work Together?
icelandgirl replied to icelandgirl's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Hey cyclinglady...I had my daughter 2 months before I turned 40 and my body has never been the same since. I think that's what took me into full blown celiac disease. I feel bad for my husband...This is my 2nd marriage...We've been married almost 4 years. We found out I was pregnant 3 days after we got married and the whole pregnancy was so rough and...- 144 replies

ARCHIVED Hormones, Hashi's And Celiac- How Does This All Work Together?
icelandgirl replied to icelandgirl's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Hi Nicole...I love the rants because they make me feel less alone. Lol I know you've posted them before, but can you post the optimal thyroid values again. I want to take them with me to my Dr. I am wondering is it my thyroid? Is it my other hormones? Is it both? Is there a Dr that will help me? It's really frustrating. I wonder what happened...- 144 replies

ARCHIVED Hormones, Hashi's And Celiac- How Does This All Work Together?
icelandgirl replied to icelandgirl's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Hi Gemini...(hugs) and thank you. I'm not sure about it either. I'm just wondering. My allergist mentioned that I have such a strong immune response that he thinks I might react to almost anything. I'm reacting so strongly to the current level of shots that he's dialing them back and having me go in every 2 weeks instead of weekly. I hope that my...- 144 replies

ARCHIVED Hormones, Hashi's And Celiac- How Does This All Work Together?
icelandgirl replied to icelandgirl's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
When my thyroid first went wacky I gained 10 pounds in a month, was wearing 2 shirts, pants, 2 pairs of socks and wrapped in a blanket all the time and still freezing. My TSH was 116. I've currently got the Niagara Falls type thing going on, and the worst PMS, which involves horrendous mood swings, crying at anything (including the receptionist at the Dr...- 144 replies

ARCHIVED Hormones, Hashi's And Celiac- How Does This All Work Together?
icelandgirl replied to icelandgirl's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Hi cyclinglady...yeah my cholesterol was so nice and low the last time it was checked that my Dr thought I wouldn't need it checked for another 5 years. But now my LDL is like 115...and that's not good. My new Dr. was concerned and gave me all this info about lowering cholesterol. The problem is...I only eat meat(primarily chicken, fruits and veggies...- 144 replies

Hi all, I had the best Dr's appointment yesterday, with my allergist, and he got me really thinking about what's going on with my body. After we talked about my allergies and how allergy shots were going (I'm so allergic 4+ to everything), I told him that I had been diagnosed with celiac disease in January and that I was still having trouble with bloating...- 144 replies

I am so happy for you that you figured this out! I'm desperately searching for that aha moment. 2 weeks without dairy and soy didn't do it. Bummed. -

ARCHIVED Has Anyone Had This?
icelandgirl replied to shadowicewolf's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I also have an elevated b12 and low D. I didn't get to see my regular doc when I got the results and the one I got was like "I'm not worried about that. I'd be worried if it was low." But it bugs me. I have an appointment with my regular doc in 3 weeks and will ask him...cause I want to know. -

Speaking of food...I want a piece of bread. It's that fun time of the month and I'm avoiding chocolate because of the histamine thing. Anyone know of a bread or have a recipe for one that is gluten, dairy, soy free and low histamine? Just want something like that. Hmmm... -

ARCHIVED Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (Mcas)
icelandgirl replied to IrishHeart's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Thanks so much Colleen. I'm obviously in serious need of encouragement right now. It does feel like it's always something...I get to where I'm like...why is this so hard! I don't want my kids feeling like mom is always sick but the 2 older ones go back to school tomorrow and there were plenty of bad days this summer. I used to love food! Lol! I love... -

Lisa...you have no idea how much it helped me to read this...just hearing that someone gets it makes me want to cry! I thought things were getting better. April was so darn good! Then something happened...I don't know...and things haven't improved since. It's really hard and discouraging. When I walked out of my Dr's office I really thought I had... -

ARCHIVED Oral Nsaids - Are They Safe For Celiacs?
icelandgirl replied to cristiana's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
So crazy...just last week I told my husband that I'm scared that when they grow up and someone asks what their mom was like they will say, "she was always sick." Makes me sad...All I ever wanted was to be a good mom. -
ARCHIVED Oral Nsaids - Are They Safe For Celiacs?
icelandgirl replied to cristiana's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Oh Cristiana...it would be so great. I hugged my doctor as I left his office with him saying just eat gluten free. I guess I assumed that if I did that it would all get better. Some things are better...but this bloated...trapped wind feeling and constant burping is making me crazy. I've been taking a probiotic since January. I don't have D all day... -

icelandgirl replied to cristiana's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I so completely hear you. I feel like there is always something. I'm always trying to figure out why I'm off too. It's really hard and I just want to feel good. I cut out dairy and soy 9 days ago to see if it would help with my constant bloating and D. So far the only difference I see is that even hungrier and have lost more weight. Good luck to you... -
ARCHIVED Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (Mcas)
icelandgirl replied to IrishHeart's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
6 months feels like forever...mostly because I so desperately want to feel good and be able to be as good a mom to my 3 kids as possible. I had my antibodies checked a month ago and things had improved a lot. All of me medications are gluten free and the only supplement I take is a probiotic which is as well. My kitchen is somewhat shared. I cook all... -

6 months. Today is the first day since I don't know when that I haven't had a banana or strawberries. Weird. What do you put in your smoothie? Those really were my staples. The bloating is really bothering me...it feels so uncomfortable all the time. I would love to do something to relieve it. I got your list and that is super helpful. I am going... -
ARCHIVED Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (Mcas)
icelandgirl replied to IrishHeart's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Thanks for responding Lisa...I really appreciate it. I'm definitely not jumping to it...just considering. I had just recently read Jess' blog discussing it so things were on my mind. Add to that weird stuff that's happened...like 2 times in 3 weeks having what I thought had to be a UTI...just wasn't...and this second time it took about 10 days to stop... -
ARCHIVED Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (Mcas)
icelandgirl replied to IrishHeart's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I hope I'm not too late to this party to get some input. I'm not saying that I have MCAS or a histamine intolerance...but am wondering. I'm still struggling with D 7-10 days a month, tons of bloating, dzziness/lightheadedness at times, fatigue, etc. I just went through a week and a half period of pelvic pressure, needing to pee constantly without...
