    ARCHIVED Dh Relief

Hmmm, that's interesting. I may have to pick some up. My daughter should try that. She has rashes / dry skin all over her arms and legs that I'm starting to wonder if it isn't DH. For my DH, I sometimes put preparation H on it which actually numbs it and helps with the itching.
  2. My hands were swollen and hurting too but I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel and thoracic outlet syndrome not arthritis. My hands hurt so much for a while that I couldn't address an envelope. It seems to cause an inflammatory response that could explain a lot of different aches and pains.
  3. I'm so tired of fighting with my boyfriend about my diet. We've been together for a year and half, I was diagnosed 6 months ago. My diet is literally the only thing we ever fight about. He's wonderful and mostly very supportive about my diet except for in a few areas. When I got the diagnosis and we started talking about cross contamination he went...
  4. I wonder...I do have DH and I also get terribly itchy if I use creams with wheat in them. My two reactions are two different things. If I eat enough gluten I get DH, I don't seem to get it from cross contamination thankfully. DH is a blistery itchy rash. I can feel it coming 2-3 days before the blisters show up. If I use shampoo or conditioner for...
  5. Oh boy, well that won't work. You got me curious so I did some surfing and found this: Open Original Shared Link Maybe there is something in that list that will work?
  6. I was diagnosed in December and have just stopped getting sick in the past few weeks. It took a while to figure out where the gluten was hiding and what was making me sick. I'm also dairy and carb intolerant. Too many carbs feels just like getting glutened. Gluten free doesn't mean gluten free. I was still getting very sick from gluten free foods, then...
  7. I felt noticeably better after switching to gluten free makeup. I use Zuzu Luxe. They are wonderful products. You can get it online at Open Original Shared Link or I get mine at Whole Foods.
  8. "Oh, and distilled products that "should" be gluten-free are another risky area. I do make sure to read labels to make sure things like vinegar are made from corn rather than wheat." I wonder, how can you tell if vinegar is made from corn rather than wheat? I have definitely been reacting to some vinegars. I've been just avoiding them all together unless...
  9. Well I can certainly confirm that the article is true. Brain fog was a major symptom for me, I thought I was losing my mind. I ended up being diagnosed with ADHD which is now gone since going gluten free a few months ago. I would forget things, I couldn't focus, couldn't sit still long enough to complete any task. I ran into things, I fell down, I would...
  10. I asked my doctor if I should have the endoscopy because I wasn't able to get a positive blood test but I have so many symptoms that are indicative of Celiac. All of which improved on a gluten free diet. My iron, vitamin B and D were low, liver enzymes were high, estrogen was practically non-existent, my blood sugar was fluctuating from at times very high...
  11. I use Jason's products. They are certified gluten free and I've been happy with everything I have purchased so far. Open Original Shared Link They carry the line at Whole Foods if you have one nearby, otherwise they do sell off of their website. I've been using this one as kind of an all over lotion and it's nice and thick but soaks in very quickly:...
  12. I'm still very new to all of this, I was diagnosed a week before Christmas. Up until a few weeks ago, I was still sick more often than not despite being gluten free. My Dr sent me to a nutritionist, after talking she told me that I was still getting glutened from "gluten free" foods. She restricted me to only certified gluten free foods or foods that were...
  13. I agree, since finding a gluten free support group in my area I feel a bit less like an alien. . Luckily, a lot of my friends and co-workers were already well aware of what Celiac was so I don't seem to have to do a lot of explaining. Our local grocery store added big "Gluten Free" tags to everything on the shelves. I still have to search for the ones...
  14. I don't know, I'm still fairly new to all of this. I was reacting to them so I did some searching and found articles like this one: http://www.glutenfreeislife.com/?p=6488 My understanding is that gluten free was gluten-free up to 20PPM, certified gluten free was gluten-free up to 10PPM and Celiac Sprue certified meant gluten free up to 5PPM. My...
  15. I definitely react to KIND bars. They are gluten free up to the USDA standard of 20PPM, that's still too much for me. I'm only able to eat certified gluten free foods.
