  1. I make a sauce with nutritional yeast, and milk base and protein powders sometimes with seasonings, sorta like a runny nacho sauce. Found a odd blend of nutrakey protein powder, nutritional yeast when mixed with a sweetener and lor ann oils kosher cheesecake favoring makes it taste like cream cheese. I normally buy lisanatti almond cheese at the store,...
  2. Part of what happens to me is completely confusion, anxiety, gut wrenching pains, loss of feeling in hand and feet, vomiting and even a few times collapsed unable to move for hours. I invested in some medical dog tags with my blood type, mention of celiac disease and a list of all my allergies on it along with emergency contact information in case this happens...
  3. Same thing happened to me yesterday, but it was so little, I am normally hyper sensitive with full on fog, numbness, and gut wrenching with just a tad. This time it was slight confusion, bit of grumble but what alerted me was the red spots on my chest. Think I know the culprit and threw them away and cleaned everything like a mad man.
  4. Quinoa if labeled with gluten-free certifications should be safe, Oats you have to be super careful with in America as they are pushing a mechanical separation for gluten-free oats which still makes alot of us sick, Only Brand I trust of oats is gluten-free Harvest. As for brewers yeast stay away from it period, it is a byproduct of making beer normally ...
  5. Sounds like you might have become super sensitive. And have found one of the many incompetent doctors out there that lack knowledge and empathy for those with celiac. I suggest finding a new doctor if you can, I went through 5 before finding a decent one that at least has worked with celiacs. Try eating only raw foods or trusted brands that have the gluten...
  6. Funny thing is I take 2-3 times the recommended dose of magnesium and still have hard stools, it really depends on the person and if you have issues with absorption of it in combination of your other supplements. You should ask your doctor and/or dietician about supplements, and perhaps have testing done to see about levels. Ask questions about them and bring...
  7. I learned the local mushrooms in all the stores within 30 miles come from farmers who use wheat grass compost and barley or rye seeds coated in spores for starting them (called the growers after a reaction) I have to stick to getting canned ones. As for actual gardening I have such bad luck I can not even grow okra and zucchini in Texas.
  8. Just seeing if I can reach out and meet some locals around here and perhaps get a place where we can talk about meet ups, restaurants, etc. So anyone else from the DFW area in Texas? I live about 30-40miles south myself, from Dallas.
  9. You show them and get a refund and leave, I have gotten poisoned at a few restaurants, they will in most cases bend over backwards to avoid a bad review or lawsuit. Same with food companies. I have 2 restaurants I trust a tad to not mess up 2 dishes, they have only gotten me sick once in the past 2 years and they told me I did not have to pay and offered...
  10. Yep, exactly like me. I did a post on the mental trauma of this earlier. There are plenty of post related to this with others talking about it. I do a mixed regime supplements to help with the anxiety, and has really taken the edge off. As for the fear, yeah my reactions are so bad that is instilled in me as a trauma and I have very similar dramatic reactions...
  11. Good job, I just pace/power walk about 8-10miles a day in my hall, I get restless and just feel the need to walk, I feel relaxed while moving and allows me to think more clearly. I used to go running and do sports. This gives me hope I might be able to back to that after some more healing. Thinking back I only started the walking again this past year. But...
  12. I just pray I meet a understanding female with celiac, who will avoid my other allergies and needs a man that can cook damn well and runs a gluten-free Bakery. I keep looking and have tried several dating websites, and talk to people at conventions, markets. and expos where I can meet others with the disease.
  13. Yep...have to constantly take B vitamins, multivitamins, protein powders, and BCAAs now every 4-6 hours.....forget a dose and feel like I got hit by a train hurting and can not move much. Been this way for several years now, always having to take stuff as my body does not absorb stuff right.
  14. This comes from them using different facilities/molds/machines then the standard lines of their products. I am assuming the person you talked to was misinformed on the matter. I have had similar issues in the past before giving up and just making my own chocolates. Just stick to the ones that are labeled safe, if it made you sick then you can contact them...
  15. Found Ians has a bunch of allergy cards with front and back, the backs go into detail on contamination. First found them at a gluten-free Expo but you can download and print off your own Open Original Shared Link
  16. Hmm this is actually a viscous cycle as a lot of times the stress is caused by vitamin and other nutrient deficiencies. I found found in multiple articles where panic attacks, and stress related issues are often linked to low B Vitamins and iron which is a known issue with many celiacs. Open Original Shared Link Might explain why I find combinations...
  17. The anxiety thing is there I take teas, and supplements along with CBD oil to help with it, and long walks and exercise when I get antsy. As for the human interaction it is a mix of other mental issues, and the way I feel about people who can eat gluten. If they are not eating I have no issue talking with people. I mentioned I have issues accepting them...
  18. Spicely Organics has both cassia and true (Ceylon) Cinnamon and are certifed gluten free along with the rest of their spices, as to tea Republic of Tea has most of their products tested and certified gluten-free also. You can visit their sites or try Amazon.
  19. Star Anise Foods rice paper and spring rolls are gluten free they have brown and white rice versions. I have not had issues with these in the past when I used to use them. Should be able to find them on amazon.
  20. Yeah I ended up allergic to corn, olives, sesame, whey, and peanuts and intolerant to dairy, soy, yeast, enzyme issues with breaking down meats, and egg yolks, along with extreme bloat with any kind of carbs/sugars in moderate amounts. And very adverse reactions to certain artificial sweeteners. So your not alone in all the other issues cropping up, it happens...
  21. Rum is naturally gluten free, but in cases where it is flavored, spiced, etc. you have to be careful where they might add a malt in the natural flavorings. I been using Admiral Nelsons coconut rums in cooking for finishing off stir frys, and adding a bit of flavor to caramelized ingredients for a few years now, I have never had issues with those. As...
  22. I really am iffy on talking about this side of my gluten issues, I think I am about to ruin my reputation on this forum coming about as some extreme crazy guy saying this but I wanted to get this off my chest and perhaps see if anyone else might share a similar trauma. I get emotional recalling it, this side of my reactions, as it is most ingrained and very...
  23. I get these crazy cravings for some things I can not eat anymore. Not only am I diagnosed with celiac but I also have a allergy to corn, olives, sesame, peanuts, and intolerance to yeast, soy, dairy, and a very low tolerance for carbs/sugars, Top it off with I can not digest meats or egg yolks, they just give me the burps and come up later. To deal...
  24. I found my gas issues were caused by carbs, and sugars, something about how the bacteria in my gut changed and started making me gassy and extremely bloated when they got a hold of any thing more then a tbsp of grains, beans, fruit, or starch carbs. And no amount of medicine helped. Changed to 1/4 servings of those and mostly protein, fat diet. As for vitamin...
  25. I think this depends on the person, a lot of my issues became more sensitive and several new ones came up. While two of them went away after 2 years (beets and bell peppers). As the intestines heal and the body changes it could go either way. Regardless this will probably take awhile for any changes to happen. I wish you the best of luck with this, perhaps...
