I have for a long time considered expanding my gluten-free bakery from a cottage home bakery to one where I can sell my snacks, baked goods, and almond butter at other venues and start shipping orders. Pretty much everything is in place aside from having a separate cooking area from my huge home kitchen to make the stuff in. And Finally I worked it out, comes...

Perhaps a enema? I used to have constipation issues over 5 years ago. Even a whole box of ex-lax never worked, would be backed up for 5-10days. I found this this one sparkling Magnesium Citrate Drink laxative/Stool softener was the only stuff that worked back then. Other then that I can not help you much as I have not had this issue in years. Now that I think...

ARCHIVED Brownie recipe-leaves me feeling 'glutened'Ennis-TX replied to Karenshine's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips I had a very similar initial reaction when I remade my black bean fudge brownies.....I find the cocoa butter seems to bother me. End us using more of a blend of cocoa powder and coconut oil instead of chocolate chips. This might be it for you or it might be a synergistic effect with something and the dairy making it harder on your digestive system IE the...

And I always eat 2 servings of greens or squash high in vitamin a with each meal.

ARCHIVED Mcdonalds For Breakfast?Ennis-TX replied to bluejeangirl's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants This is outdated information as McD's now uses wheat flour in both products as a binding agent. And fries them in shared fryers with other gluten containing products. ........Ok who revived this 10 year old topic anyway.

ARCHIVED Anemia and Deficiency Induced CravingsEnnis-TX posted a topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff I find it funny how when my gut acts up, bleeding increases, or I lower my protein powder intake, I start getting odd cravings for random things covered or cooked in chocolate. I mean like really odd things, everything must be chocolate, and sweets galore (end up making protein powder shake ice cream every day) . Also get cravings for almonds (I end up binge...

ARCHIVED Current Issues and New GI DocEnnis-TX replied to Ennis-TX's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease GI doctor was in doubt about my Celiac disease, he ordered a full celiac panel and scheduled a colonoscopy and endoscopy along with biopsy. I told him I have been gluten free for over 3 years and not been major poisoned since June. They took the blood anyway sorta blowing this fact of the matter off and I told them I would probably test negative since I...

ARCHIVED Spending the Holidays at someone else's HouseEnnis-TX replied to Bumpeh's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease Make your own versions of what they are having, freeze/vacuum bag your portions. Take these and inform them it is not intended as a offense but due to your disease you have to do this. Reheat your meals and eat on paper plates with disposable utensils. This way you can have the family experience and eat together with less chance of getting sick. Alternatively...

ARCHIVED Current Issues and New GI DocEnnis-TX posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease So my primary physician has scheduled to see a new Gi Doctor for a scope to check on my bleeding and updates on intestinal health. They have me coming in for a evaluation, and talk this week, I am honestly worried this new doctor is going to dismiss my celiac and want to retest me. I have this overly defiant idea that if he tells me to do the gluten challenge...

As a adult I have started re watching all the Star Trek Episodes, Most from the Original, TNG, DS9 episodes all cover interesting issues and different takes on issues with humanity from a different point of view and perspective. I have found this to be very intriguing to say the least. Anyway I finally got around to re watching the original and am on the...

ARCHIVED Thanksgiving Dressing gluten-free and Corn FreeEnnis-TX posted a topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips Had to reinvent my grandmothers dressing, for the family. ARCHIVED Six months in - so many food intolerances, can hardly eat anythingEnnis-TX replied to strawberrymoon's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease Note Nutritional yeast is not the same as a active yeast/bread yeast....I can not eat anything with yeast in it. Nutritional yeast is different and safe for most people who can not eat yeast used in breads etc. It is inactive, and for me does not cause any of the issues I get with normal yeast. Do some research into it might be worth a try.

ARCHIVED Why is enough fat important on gluten-free diet?Ennis-TX replied to Rowan13's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease It helps in several regards, for one there are a lot of vitamins are fat solvable, a higher healthy fat intake can help you in processing these making them more bio available for your body. Another reason is the calorie density of fats, when you have to cut a lot of your carbs out and have issues with weight retention, nutrients, etc. the ease of getting...

ARCHIVED Has anyone else experienced this??Ennis-TX replied to Stringcheese32's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms I recall beer making me sick violently before even knowing I was a celiac. Always been a vodka and rum guy.....have to avoid them now due to ulcers but I still cook with rum and wines, they caramelize on stir fries and add amazing finish.

The harder stool might be a fiber issues along with magnesium. Might try adding a easy to digest seed or a nut butter to your diet. The carrots was starch carb and might have been the trigger to the D(perhaps a unsalted vegetable broth instead for now). My suggestion would be try adding a tsp-2tbsp of almond butter or perhaps make a batch of chia pudding...

ARCHIVED What is y'all's reaction time when you eat gluten?Ennis-TX replied to Zachm's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease Depends on what kind and how I was exposed. I can get the initial tightening under the neck within 30seconds if I eat straight bread or inhale flour. Small cross contamination and mixed foods can take 30min to 2 hours before the gut pains and vomiting start. Mental fog and confusion can vary from the initial 20min mark to the next day depending on how much...

Anyone Eaten Domino's Gluten-Free Pizza Recently?Ennis-TX replied to Veghead1234's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants ...I developed my own crust from 2 other recipes using cauliflower, almond meal, and almond cheese as a base. The consistency is like that of a artisan pizza shop, the dough very gooy and dough like due to the cheese in it. You have ti eat it with a fork but I found it very indulging to make on occasion. Pizza Crust /Pizza Recipe 1 medium head cauliflower...

ARCHIVED I Can't Stop Losing Weight...Ennis-TX replied to mmalaski's topic in Related Issues & Disorders I would suggest more fats and protein in the diet, along with taking BCAA and yohimbine supplements between meals and before bed to help prevent muscle break down. Digestive enzymes before meals might also help you to get more out of what you are eating. Perhaps adding a protein shake to sip on throughout the day or a gluten-free meal replacement shake. Also...

ARCHIVED Glutened or something else?Ennis-TX replied to kam00096's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease Sounds like you got gluten ed to me, Question what brand of oats? Alot of so called gluten-free oats in America use a so called mechanical separation to separate wheat grains from the oats during processing. Not exactly gluten free and causes hard to test for hot spots in batches where there is higher gluten content. I would say change to a true gluten-free...

ARCHIVED Six months in - so many food intolerances, can hardly eat anythingEnnis-TX replied to strawberrymoon's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease Have you tried adding Braggs Nutritional Yeast or Kals to your meals? I find it helps out with a bunch of nutrients, and has a nice nutty, cheese like flavor so can be used in sauces, or as a condiment. I use it on chopped sauteed salads with toasted seeds for meals often. Start off sauteing some veggies in a bit of oil, and some seeds (GERBs Hemp, Sunflower...

ARCHIVED Rice Dream milkEnnis-TX replied to Renaye's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications I would trust it but, rice milk is really thin, it does not work in baking as a milk alternative very well either. I recently had a issue with hemp milk and can tell you none of them seem safe. I use almond and cashew milks from 2 different companies (HEB, Almond Breeze), and Flax Milk from Good Karma. Elmhurst Harvest did have pistachio, walnut, and almond...
