ARCHIVED I Have Just Been Diagnosed With Celiac
Rusla replied to metsfan11's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Welcome to the site Jesse, Prior to my finding out about this I had researched it back as far as 1975 because I had suspected that I had this disease. I researched it and never acted on it because I did not come across anything that said it was severly damaging to ones health. Of course great strides have been made in food since then. So, when I went gluten... -
ARCHIVED Has It Stopped Since Going Gluten-free
Rusla replied to Rusla's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Well my whole life was one big yeast infection then, I had a hysterectomy. Hypothetically a hysterectomy should solve the problem of yeast infections but I had about 5 of them after that but the itching continued, without any outward signs like with the yeast infection. The itching all over the body etc. just ended up worse. With the last glutening that affected... -
ARCHIVED Has It Stopped Since Going Gluten-free
Rusla posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Something hit me today. The glutening a week ago made me realize something. The glutening brought back nether region itching. Yes, I am talking about butt and vaginal, which would be horrendous when I was trying to sleep at night.. I realized that not long after going gluten-free that had quit and when a terrible glutening occurs it comes back. I also... -
ARCHIVED Martha Stewart Gluten Free Segment
Rusla replied to floridanative's topic in Publications & Publicity
I never got to see it because I couldn't find it. Are you telling me that they are so stupid that they did not know that Canola and Rapeseed are the same? They changed the name from Rapeseed in around the 80's to Canola because they thought rapeseed was insulting to women. Sheesh, i grew up in the prairies and I still call it rapeseed. -
ARCHIVED I Think My Job Is Constantly Glutening Me
Rusla replied to emcmaster's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Nice of you to do that for your friend but is it worth your health? Yes, you are more than likely getting glutened there. I get glutened at work even though I am very careful, cleaning things with gloves etc. Her house is full of gluten. I would say tell her she needs to find someone else to look after her kids because it is ruining your health. She had... -
ARCHIVED All Tests And Biopsies Come Back Negative
Rusla replied to elbar's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
Not always does DH leave scars. From most of my DH I do not have scars. The thing is the biopsy for DH has to be done from around affected area NOT on it. If the doctor didn't do it right it will come back negative. The only cure for Celiac disease is to be gluten-free for life. Being gluten-free for a some years then going back to gluten dows not cure you... -

And don't eat three bags of Hershey Kisses and a case of coke either. -
Welcome to the board Stephanie and there is great help and great recipes on here because of all the awesome people. I have to say this board saved my life when I first came here. Now, I stongly suggest that your husband come on and read some posts. If he really loves and cares for you he will and he will then know you are not over reacting. This is not...

I fear I may not have a personality so, I guess I may have to do the tests. -
ARCHIVED Physical Smell When Glutened
Rusla replied to beautifully-quiet's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I find it a hard smell to pin down. But I can smell it on myself and it makes me feel very ill when it happens. When I haven't had a glutening it is not there. I smelled like that for a very long time before I was gluten-free. I mainly smelled it after I urinated. -
ARCHIVED Physical Smell When Glutened
Rusla replied to beautifully-quiet's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Welcome halfcrazy, and Beautiful. I am all crazy but that is neither here nor there. Can anyone describe this smell to me? Is it a rather sickening, hard to describe almost sickening carmel musty smokey smell? -
ARCHIVED A Proper Welcome To Srokie!

We have spell check? I can't figure out how to do stars. If people saw the way I was dressed on the computer I would be in the minuses. -
ARCHIVED What Is Wrong With Some People.
Rusla replied to Rusla's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
LOL. I wrote them my farewell message and told them to quit being cry babies and act like open-minded adults, they are supposed to be. If they had a problem they should take it up with me as I was now taking it up with all of them. Told them I did not want to be in charge of a kindergarten because I deal with adults like that at work. I have had many... -

I am going to rant and rave like a lunatic for a bit on this. I am so tired of wishy washy companies and people lately. Yesterday it was an online writer's group I have been a member of for years acting like spoiled children. Then I got glutened yesterday in Market Mall at the Thai place that told me their seafood soup was safe well at the bottom of... -

Wow, that is strange. I know I have talked to Hershey personally many times and told that their hugs, kisses, etc. are gluten free and that they don't hide anything. They said their mini bars in the bags could have gluten in them and some of the specialty things can also and to read everything. I think we need to get it in writing from someone who really... -

"Julia's husband" trying causing problems in many threads at the time including the religion one that went on peacefully for a very long time. He/she/it came in and tried stirring up problems everywhere. However, that is behind us and now we are discussing Shirley's husbands nuts in a can and eating paper products. Which brings me to General Mills... -

ARCHIVED A Proper Welcome To Srokie!
Rusla replied to Canadian Karen's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I think we have all been attacked or ignored at some time or other on this site. I know when I was first on here I was ignored, then attacked, and at one point I almost left the board. But the majority of people are great and the information and discussions are worth while. I am with the others when they say to start something with "I have heard, I was... -
Do you have painful pins and needles in your hands or feet? If you answer yes it is more than likely B-12. I would get checked out. After having severe anemia, I know when I feel I am starting to fade that it is my B-12. Get thee to a veterinarian fair goose.

Coconuts are good, just don't dust them. I will wait below the tree to catch Johnny. Someone else can have Keith. -
ARCHIVED Making New Members Feel Welcome
Rusla replied to Nantzie's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I know what you mean, Karen. Roasting inmates over and open staircase, eating paper products and dusting nuts...what is there not to love about the laughter, joy and happiness that brings. It is great to make others laugh because in turn it brings inner joy to yourself. -

Tell your hubby that your nuts are out of bounds and if he wants to be grabbing nuts with flour-filled hands than he best get his own. -

Yes, I am licking my lips and staring longingly at a box of kleenex. If only I could reach them. I have my heart set on dusting some nuts. Has anyone seen Johnny Depp? -

I take small hiatuses from time to time as many have probably noticed. I have to either due to other pressing matters, work, deadlines, glutenings, or other medical problems. I also do it because I like many others get overwhelmed from time to time. Along with I always have people calling me at home on gluten issues or business matters. I don't mind being...
