  1. Is it the procedure itself, or something else related??

Both! I've known about the procedure since my appointment with him...they have to cut the bone, then realign it and put in a pin. Sounds drastic, but that's the common procedure...that's what my friend just had done (different doctor/medical practice) and talking to some other people on the fitness forum I belong to, that's what they had done too. So, while that didn't sound FUN, lol, I knew about it. Still, my doctor thought I'd be fairly mobile in a couple of weeks. My friend was down for 4 solid weeks, then very limited mobility for a couple more weeks, and only recently is back to a regular shoe.

I've been reading people's account of complications and stuff. I have to keep in mind that a majority of people are very happy with the surgery and that like on most forums, we only hear about the stuff that doesn't go well (although there were plenty of people who said it was the best thing they ever did). :P

  2. Julie, the answer to your questions is maybe, lol. I have successfully saved a cart, and I have also had it disappear. There are still some glitchy little problems, but overall it's working fairly smoothly.

I had a nice $50 kit in my cart yesterday, which had been in my cart for several days, and actually tried to order it yesterday, but had a page error, so it didn't go through. That worked out well because I rethought my purchase and decided to go for the personal full size kit instead. Watch your order carefully...I had deleted the $50 kit and put in my personal full size kit, and it "remembered" a foundation that I had put in from yesterday...had to delete it and start over.

I finally DID order today...nothing exciting, just getting full sizes of the foundation and another of my favorite blushes, plus a blush brush and another lip gloss.

I washed my brushes last night so they were still damp this morning...not a problem, except that the only brush I don't have a duplicate of is the blush brush...so got that ordered, lol. Had to use my old BE brush...YUCK. :P

I'm still afraid to try to the new blue eyeshadows, even though they are dark. The only one I've tried so far is Starlit as a liner.

  3. I refuse to put petroleum, finger nail polish, gasoline, or ammonia on them!

Yikes! I don't blame you...hope you all get relief soon!

One very cool thing...I just made an appointment to see an internist who specialzes in celiac, got her name from this forum. It turns out my LLMD knows her well, and in fact, diagnosed her gluten sensitivity! So he said there will be no problem working together. I am really really happy about this.

Also, my daughter decided to also make an appointment with the same doc to be evaluated for celiac. This is an answer to my prayers; I am concerned about both my kids as they are symptomatic.

    Yay!!!! Very cool!

I'm feeling a little bit more energetic this evening so I'm hoping I'm over the worst part of this thing and just on to the cold part.

Yay, hope you ARE over the worst!

Hello to everyone! I've been scaring myself silly by reading the Internet about my foot surgery, lol.:lol:

  4. A week later and still no order and my thing just says funded. If I dont get it it tommorow, im afraid i wont be going back to Em makeup. I think ever since they went to the new website things have gone from good to terrible.

You should email Customer Service. Last week they were having all kinds of issues with orders. They are all caught up on the orders and emails so just email them as say that your order still says funded after a week.

  5. Completely off topic, you may delete this: I read some days ago in an interview with our most famous fortune teller, Henning Hai Lee Yang (originally from China but he has lived here from childhood) that it is gonna be Hillary after all. I wonder what is gonna happen or what he sees will happen.

Wow, even AFTER whatshisname "won" the nomination? Wow, lol. That would be interesting, lol. :P

This will leave NO questions in people's mind about the severity of Lyme! AMAZING! :) :) :D

Thanks for posting about this and thanks for the link. I may have to invest in this.

I'm crossing my fingers that you'll be able to see Amy next time. :)

Me too...course if I can get up and around quickly after my surgery, I'll probably have about 4 weeks off work, so as long as I can drive I would have flexible hours available.

    Does anyone know??

OMGOSH, I can't even figure out how to text, lol!!! My little cousin and I did IM on the computer, but I can't keep up with her. So, I guess I won't be any help.

Donna, I agree, this sounds like a good plan. If you come to Washington I hope it is before I leave!

    Now THAT would be fun!

I am so happy to be back! It feels strange not being here. I have just been afraid to be online much since what occurred on Lyme Chat a while back. The idea that people were spying on me was scary! What kind of weirdo does that?

Sorry about the about.com thing! You aren't kidding when you say that most of us know more than dieticians, lol.

I'm so sorry about the lyme chat thing...I don't even think I know exactly what happened, but sometimes people can be so weird, lol.

  6. So people with the pearl concealers, tell me what the diff is between those and the regular, non-pearl concealers.

The pearl concealors seem to be a tad lighter than the regular of the same color, but they have a SHEEN...it's a pearlescent sheen...not sparkles. Think oil slick shine, not sparkle shine, lol. I'm really liking them because they give me a slightly dewy look without looking oily...I mix a MINISCULE amount with some silk dust (like one little dot of pearl concealor to two taps of the silk dust, lol) and put that all over my face as a primer layer, then my foundation over.

From what I've read on the EM boards and my own experience, the pear mint shows through just like the regular does, but what someone over there said is that it's made to cover redness but also meant to put another concealor over it.

 Donna at your pale chalky face with the pressed powder. Would using a brush with it defeat the purpose  but a brush probably would not give you that nice cakey coverage that the applicator did. I'm just guessing here. Maybe you have to tap the applicator real good also, so that you are just applying in light layers.

Yeah, I'm going to try with a brush next. I really think I just got the wrong color...there are a couple which look a little darker so I think I'll try those before giving up. If one puts it in the $50 kit, the items only cost slightly more than $4 each. Great bargain on foundations and powders!

Hmmm, Shannon I haven't had any trouble with my eyeshadow adhering. Is there too mush moisture on your eye area before you apply? I don't know if putting a base layer of something else like a concealer or a finishing dust would help also. Other than that I don't have any ideas......

I put on the decrease, then a little of the silk dust/concealor on it which also seems to help.

  7. Hello everyone...still in a weird place, so not posting much, but AM trying to stay caught up.

Hooray, a Jin sighting and good news from Rachel!

Carla had a great time and is feeling well.

I've been doing a lot of thinking the last week or so....I think I've decided to ask Dr. S to retest me for molds. The blood test we're working from is over a year old and at the time I was still getting allergy shots (or had JUST stopped them)...one of the big things in my mix was molds.

I've also decided to ask for the RBC and another urine challenge.

I may have to wait until after my surgery for all that, but that's my plan. I'm hoping I can get in to see Dr. Amy, but I think she's due down in July and that's when my surgery is, so I'm only half hopeful that that will work out, lol. If I can't see her here, I'll try to make an appointment up in Washington as soon as my foot is healed well enough.

So that's it, that's my plan. :) Haven't really had a plan, and I'm not sure how much of a plan this is, but it's a start.

  8. Pressed powders... Just how the heck do people use these, lol.

I was running late this morning, so decided to save time I would just try one of my new pressed powders as a foundation. Um, wow, lol. Talk about coverage! Sheesh. :P I started with my nose...probably not a good place to start. I finally got it all evened out, but my face looked so pale and chalky. Then I decided to try some Soft Butter Peach foundation over it. Okay, now we're talkin'! Looks very good, but is paler than SBP over silk dust with concealor. I like the end result and it matches my neck well, so I'm thinking if this works out well for the entire day, I might try the pressed powders as a primer layer. :P

Does anyone apply it with a brush? How does that work for ya?

  9. Yeah, the neurotransmitters are definitely at least part of the problem for my insomnia. Supplementing (yeah, you're right about all the tests leading to more supplements, lol) for the specific imbalances of neurotransmitters has seemed to help a little with it. I know the imbalance is caused by the lyme, mold or metals, but at least supplementing the imbalance is letting me get a little more sleep until we can fix the other stuff. But, the supplements are definitely NOT cheap!

  10. Okay, I really LIKE Lounge Party! I tried it today just by itself and it's a really nice color...kind of a bronzer with a little color to it. It looks so very dark in the jar, but it went on much lighter. In the jar it looks sort of olive brown to me, but on it almost has a slight red tint to it...very subtle hint of red. I really like it. I have on a red sweater today so maybe it's just picking up the red from my sweater, but whatever, I like it. :P

I'm also wearing Champagne as eyecolor, lol. It was way too light for blush for me, but I really like it as an eyecolor. Brightens my eyes. :)

Wearing PEARL mint concealer. I am a shiney kermit! :) Actually it looks pretty nice...I noticed by the end of the day the last two days that my chin redness was showing through, so I'm hoping the green today will counteract that. As I've been doing for the last few days, I mix a miniscule amount of the pearl concealor with much more silk dust and put on as a primer layer. I think these pearl concealors will have MUCH to much sheen to use on their own for most people.

  11. So today's new products are Pearl Beige concealor, Natural blush (not a new color, just new to me), and room addition.

I used the pearl beige the same as I did yesterday...just a little mixed with silk dust as a primer layer.

I first tried Champagne blush, but that was very light...I couldn't tell if it was giving me color or not, lol. I ended up using Natural blush over that, and then the new blush Lounge Party over that. I was scared of Lounge Party because it is so dark, but I think I'll try that by itself tomorrow...it was the only one I put on today that had color, lol. Natural is very nice and natural looking but no color to speak of. Champagne may be good for those of you with really fair skin looking for a nice soft pink. This one is much lighter than Soft Touch if any of you have that.

I put Room Addition on as an eyeliner. All the new blues I got are shades of teal, mostly medium to darker in tone.

  12. Maybe you can teach me about all this stuff when you come up here.....hint, hint, hint. :P:D:lol:

Oh, and when I DO come up I'll bring all my duplicate or unused EM products! You can have them!

I can't believe I am going to have more than 50 eyeshadow colors. :o

Hard to believe but true...in my case too. :P

Donna - Your post has me all enthused. LOL. Yay for good lip gloss! ...and don't you LOVE the full size concealers? :D

Wow, I can be a yellow-green with beige and pink highlights KERMIT if I want! For several weeks...maybe months. :P

I think they are still working on the tracking number issue...judging by the number of posts on the shipping/kits issues I think it may be a while longer before the tracking thing is fixed.

  13. Uggg, I have the WORST stomach ache today! I've been searching my mind for what could have caused it...I haven't had anything different today or yesterday,

and I think I've figured it out...

    Caffeine free Diet Coke!

    I had one yesterday.

I know, I know, evil death and destruction poison...

    I've learned my lesson.
