  1. Donna,

Are you having soy in your lattes? I'm guessing that could be a problem. For me it is anyway....I totally avoid soy.

I'm going back to Nurse Cratchet today...maybe she'll see the big bruise on my arm and feel bad. On second thought...I doubt it. <_<

Yep, but don't have the lattes everyday so was hoping it wasn't a problem... I think I knew my answer to that though. :( So, starting Sunday, nothing but meat and veggies for two weeks.

Good luck with Cratchet! Mean ole nurse!

  2. I also need to buy petite pants! I'm 5 foot 3, but my arms and legs are short--I'm more long-waisted. That's really all that I get from Chadwicks--they have so many choices in petite pants. For petite jeans, I always buy Lee Riders--their petite length fits me perfectly.

Ha, I'm 5'3" and CAN'T wear petities...high rise and, er, um, uncomfortable in a certain area, lol.

  3. Donna,

How's the chocolate (I'm so said I need to refrain) withdrawal going?

So far so good, it's been almost 2 weeks I think...withdrawals...well...I think you'd have to ask those around me, lol.

The Price Is Right! I haven't watched that in ages. It's hard to believe Bob Barker is still going at it.

Yah, he was on it when I was a kid...that must make him 100 by now, lol.

Off topic...well, but what isn't off topic here  .....does anyone do any catalog/internet ordering?? If so what are your favorite companies/sites??

I love zappos.com, finish line, lands end, old navy, j crew, victoria's secret, and amazon .com, to name a few.

Oh, man, my cc info is all over the internet, lol. Favorite sites: firemountaingems.com, qvc.com, collagevideo.com (fitness videos), nordstrom.com....well the list goes on an on and on...apparently the Rachel things goes across the board in all areas of my life.

  4. I do not wait very well, and I have been waiting for news of Greenland forever!

Yah, I'm not good at that myself, lol. Hoping you hear good news soon.

Donna.....MIss Bumble...stop by any time.. :) Wish we were all in ONE place again......

    I hate that......

    ...

See you all later - - -friends are here, they brought me their giant-screen HD TV in secret trade for my beautiful piano....her husband doesn't know but what can he do when a 2,000 pound item shows up? and her teenage daughter LOVES cleaning closets, she rearranged mine (a bomb had gone off in there) entirely in the first two hours of being here, I almost cried upon seeing it....was like a While You Were Out episode...fantastic....and the giatn TV fills out the giant cubby in the wall, for built-ins...so super....can live out my spinsterhood so cozily here.... :o

Yah, I wish we were all in one place too!

Wow, cool trade, lol. AND  on the bomb...my whole condo is like that, lol.:ph34r:

  5. Donna, I'm not sure about the nail polish....nothing surprises me though. How about removing it and seeing if you get better? As far as histamines go....I'm thinking more along the lines of food.

Maybe chocolate??? How about diet sodas and Starbucks coffee? Yeah......your post in the R-2 thread didnt get by me. :P

I always try and eliminate anything I get suspicious of so if I was you I'd definately go without the nail polish again. See what happens.

I'm really upset today! The horrid lady at the lab who drew my blood for the histamine test called today. First off shes extremely unfriendly....almost hostile. Totally oblivious to the needs of the "patient". She didnt refridgerate my orange jug after I gave it to her....she didnt even seem to care. I was worried at this point. After about 15 minutes of my jug sitting on the floor I mentioned to her that it needed refridgeration...she looked at me...nodded and then placed it on a table with other samples and a big sign saying "room temp. samples".

I soooo wanted to punch this lab lady....I swore if she messed up my pee test I just might do it.

I kept my lips zipped because she had the needle for my bloodtest. She was extremely rough and aggressive with the needle....she wasnt keeping still while she changed vials and she was digging the needle into my vein. I missed the lab lady who thought I was like 10 and was so gentle and kind....she gave me a lollipop and a barbie sticker. Not this ogre in a lab coat...all she gave me was a big bruise.

So today she calls, leaves me a voice mail....somehow she messed up on the test....I have to go back so she can redraw my blood!!

How scary is that??!! I'm kind of freaked out....I dont like her and my arm's already sore. How am I gonna climb rocks on Friday with sore arms. :(

    I didnt go back today....scared.

Also...how could she possibly mess up on a bloodtest...where did my blood go?? Why cant it be used??? It was suppossed to be frozen....I'm betting anything that the wicked witch didnt freeze it...she probably didnt refridgerate my orange jug either....I'm like fuming right now.

Yep, need to get some polish remover...I threw everything out last year, lol. I haven't had any form of chocolate now in over a week...or has it been almost two now...wow, that's different. Haven't had diet coke since Saturday. Hadn't had Starbuck's since Saturday either...couldn't help myself yesterday--I'm going to blam it on Cecile and all her talk of coffee, lol, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I've decided that for the next two weeks I'm going to only eat meat and veggies. Possibly just a little fruit, but I think I'd really like to do just the meat/veggie thing for a couple of weeks. The fruit just seems to trigger the need to eat more sweet things and I think I need to break that right now...later I'll add back some low sugar fruits that are lower in histamine. I'm still not sure that part of my problem isn't candida...I did react to candida when I had my allergy testing originally and I know that mold/fermented/sweet foods can aggravate that. I really need this two weeks to get everything out of my system I think.

Wow, Rachel, that lab nurse sounds insane. In addition to some of the other suggestions I would also tell the doctors who use that lab...if there is another lab they can use for the same tests you might save someone else from Nurse Cratchett. I can't believe she was so blatantly incompetent. I'm wondering if, as she was moving around with the vials, if she didn't actually go through the vein...don't know anything about that sort of thing, but if she poked all the way through it that might have tainted the whole batch. Grrr!

Donna, the nail polish wouldn't surprise me either, but I have a strong feeling it's been all the chocolate, as well as Bumble Bars of the "Chocolate" variety :lol:

But, but, but.... No Bumble Bars in over 3 weeks now (a definite record), and no chocolate in over a week. The soy lattes are a problem though.

  6. Karen - I'm so sorry the news wasn't as good as you'd hoped, but I'm thinking this HAS to be the beginning of the healing process...now you know (at least) why you've been having such a bad time. {{{{hugs}}}}

    Oh my...

I wake up and Celia is...well, Celia! (Beautiful picture, by the way) And Armetta is mouse, and now she's Celia's bird.

Is there anything else I missed????

Holy Identity Crisis Batman, lol...I had it figured out pretty quickly, but it did take a few minutes, lol. SOMEONE has to be the bird, lol. I love that bird!

  7. Thanks, I guess ;) And in case you didn't know, I found more than this new town

    ....

Thanks for the support....I'd expect more from a fellow NorCalifornian! :P

And, what else did you find????? Huh????? What?????

That's me, full of support for my fellow NorCalifornians, lol.

  8. does everyone get the new name?

premature post....I DO, I DO...I wondered if that was the Picard you were named for, lol.

Oh...and a couple weeks ago we had some technical difficulties with the computer....I couldnt get online for a couple days. I went through withdrawl. :(

And had a search party out looking for you.

  9. Ok guys, I've read back over 4 pages and I think what i'm reading is that...

maybe my horrid allergies, (which have NEVER been this bad) is linked to histimines in food and affects the thyroid????

i am hypothyroid and take the generic synthroid..and have for 6 months before that on synthroid since i was in 3rd grade when i had my thryroid radiated for 'tonsilitis..in the 40's in 1969 had a goiter removed caused by the radiation...

so is there is list of foods that have high levels of 'histomines' since so many of you have named some of these foods.

    judy in philly

Julie and Rachel seem to have done the most research on this but here are a couple of the sites I bookmarked from one of Julie's posts:

    Open Original Shared Link

    Open Original Shared Link

(on this second link, there is an icon at the bottom of the page that says "click here to see my diet"...if you click there it has the foods that this one girl ate...there is some disagreement with the foods on this list.)

And, more on the histamine thing...I had a relevation moment this morning....NAIL POLISH. I haven't worn nail polish in a long time because it seemed to give me problems....I mostly thought this was in my head though because it was nothing specific...just a general feeling of something wrong. Up until a year ago I wore it sort of regularly...about a year ago I stopped...BUT, around my birthday a month and a half ago I had a pedicure! Could this have driven the histamine levels over the top? Maybe that's why the itching has been so bad the last few weeks...am I grasping at straws, totally off my rocker, luney tune material?

Oh, and by-the-way, I went to a place that cleans their foot baths very well...it was recommended by two of my friends that are picky about that.

  10. Kind of a punishment for going back into the pages of the OMG thread.... :P

Yes this should be a decree...anyone who goes back should incur punishment, lol. (Okay, maybe only TheDave!)

I'd like to bring something to everyone's attention--I have done a successful multiple quote post for the first time ever! I'm pretty proud B)

    OMGosh...is it true?

    Doesn't poop hauler = attorney :lol::lol::lol:

I think I'd better keep quiet on this one...there IS one attorney (very nice I might add) in my office who has gluten intolerance, lol.

    By-the-way, great picture!

Did the lack of hair influence your decision?

 OMGosh...I didn't even think of that...I was going to start guessing.

  11. Donna!

    :lol::lol::lol:

Was hoping no one noticed that, lol.

Hmmm....I'm thinking the cows doing their business on or around our nice fresh rachelville grown veggies is not a good thing. <_<

I hereby object to cows pooping in the vegetable garden! I OBJECT!! (In case you didnt hear me) :D

    The President has spoken!

Then maybe after their poop is composted, we need a poop hauler to take it over and fertilize the garden, the poop won't be smelly at that point. Might be an appropriate job for the town idiot!

    :lol::lol::lol:

  12. How about travel agent and barista?

 What a combo there, huh??

Ummm barista...just got back from Starbucks! Oh wait, shhhh, I'm supposed to be eating clean this week.

I suppose we COULD use a travel agent...although it would be tempting to stay in Rachelville forever, there will be times when we need to leave and would need a travel agent. Andrea?

  13. Hi Donna... the bumble bar woman! I can't get on the computer but for only a few hours each day because my son is working out of my home until he's settled in his own home. I got lucky today... he took the day off.... I miss all of you too... very much... wish life wouldn't interefere with this board... :o:lol:

Ain't that the truth...they've actually been making me WORK at work lately...really cuts down on my posting time.

  14. Hello to all.... and to all R'Villians (if you peek in here :lol: )... I do love you all and I have been reading your thread now and then, it's just hard for me to keep up :o:lol: There are so many in this support group ...some crazy huge number...and wanted to help out as many as I can.... with a bit of knowledge... and bit of sillyness. So you see my friends I have not abandoned you... I am still around, just look for my beak in different threads.. :)

Hi! Caught me just peeking in! I miss you!

  15. Well, right now I run a concrete plant. I dabbled in masonry and construction. Used to train horses. Maybe I can be town maitnance? Along with the other guys :)

Cool!!!! You can help construct all our patios in Rachelville, lol! Horse training might come in handy too as we're trying to round up the stray dingos and geese. Andrea? (Andrea is the keeper of the town list)

  16. Hmm the one I got from CVS was $15 I am pretty sure, had the needles, and 10 strips. I might be a bit off on the price, but taht is ballpark, so yea look for a chain store.

Carla, I bought a cheap one from Long's...it was called "FreeStyle" and it had all the stuff, including 10 test strips. I really just wanted to do the testing for the one day, so this was perfect. I ended up buying another kind...just a bit more expensive as well, and I used it ocassionally just to see if my symptoms are related to blood sugar...they never are though, but I'm still glad I have it to erase the doubts.

  17. Omg....we've been moved :lol::lol::lol:

How cool!!!! Bet there'll be a lot of activity here, lol.

Yes....new rule....all things said more than 50 pages ago shall remain lost in the thread. No more pulling out random things from the past....:ph34r:

Only pertinent scientific info shall be resurrected and thrown back at us.

    Yay!

Andrea, I seriously doubt he's read the whole 100 pages. Me thinks he's skipping the scientificness (it goes over his head anyways) and just looking for the things he can have more fun with. I'm sure I'll be hearing about it today....the things I posted in my crazy sweet potato stupor....coming back to haunt me.

    What was I thinking??

    YIKES!!! :o

Thanks for asking! It's nice having all of you here who care ... no one in my circle of friends/family (excluding those I live with) seem to even think of asking. It means a lot.

There are a lot of very nice special people here!

  18. Premature post, lol:

Here is the application for a job in R-ville.

Are you gluten free? Yes, and proud of it!!

Do you promise to never infiltrate Rachelville with gluteney foods? Yes, of coarse!!

Do you promise to never bring gigantic Auxigro ridden produce into R-Ville? I do. (Raise right hand.)

    Can I have a job now? :P

Sure you can...What do you like to do...that will help...

I just wanted to stop by Rachelville for a visit...and say HI. =)

I admit, I had no idea what Rachelville was, until I pm'd JerseyAngel. I didn't want to seem like a dork. But, someone much braver than I asked publicly.... and I must give that person Kudos!!!

    So... HI! =)

    Hi!!!

  19. Hi everyone, glad to find that Rachelville continues joyfully. I am so impressed by how graciously these growing pains have been handled.

My computer is still not working as far as this site goes. Is anyone else running Windows 2000? Yesterday I felt just horrible about it and my sweetie actually offered to leave his work computer for me but I said no, I'll be O.K. :(

Oh gosh...I might go through BAD withdrawal if my computer died, yikes!

  20. It's worse at night, and I get hives all over my butt and left thigh

I'm in the same boat...don't know what's causing all the damn itching. I could buy stock in cortaid and benadryl  So I'm no help, but just letting you know I have similar problems.

I have that happen, too. Usually if I've been running around outside, I always attributed it to pollen riding up my pants.

Mine seems worse at night too...or at least later in the day. They itched today in the shower and a bit after I got to work, but haven't really had any other problems so far today...same thing happened yesterday, but by the time I went to bed, the scratching was bad.

Wasn't it you that had the rash on your face a few weeks/months ago? Did you have that checked out (sorry, can't remember, and I can't even use the brain fog thing)? I remember (sort of) that Lupus was brought up, but can't remember if you had it checked out.

I'm picking up two prescription creams for the itching today after work, so I'll see if they help.

    on the pollen thing!
