Well folks, just me and my jug for the next few hours, lol! The IV went well, but I had a rough, rough morning. I think the Tindamax and Amphotericin are finally doing their thing--I'm having other signs that it might be a herx and maybe side effects from one or both meds (the nurse today said it can take a few days for them to get into the system).
All day yesterday my intestines were REALLY noisy...LOUD noisy, and I felt off all day.
I got home really late last night (choir practice), then couldn't get to sleep. When I finally DID fall asleep, I kept waking up, and finally woke up around 2:30 with that horrid stomach burning hunger thing...my intestines were also tender so I'm pretty sure it's the meds. I took some charcoal (which sometimes seems to help) and tried to get back to sleep, but nope...was awake from then on. Finally just got up at 4:20 or so and decided to just get ready.
THEN, the fun started!
I haven't spent so much time in the bathroom since I had my prep for my colonoscopy! Egads...hard to imagine there could be anything left, lol!
That bad sort of achy hunger thing is still present, only I know it isn't hunger because I've eaten. It isn't easy to eat, but I've eaten. I almost called to ask them if I should cancel the test, but decided to just go ahead with it.
I didn't mention too much about not feeling well, just that I didn't sleep and what meds I was on. I probably should have, but I'm certain it's the antibiotics/anti-fungals so didn't want to reschedule.
Felt a little weird when they first started the IV but I think that's because my blood pressure was probably around 80/60 (just a guess, but that's what it felt like), lol. I actually started to feel better about halfway through the IV bag.
So now, just me and my jug.
They gave me a mailer thingy so I can ship it back today when I'm done. I called DHL and they gave me a location that I can take it that has a 5:00 pick-up cuz the latest they can pick up at a residence is 3:15 and my little jug and I are joined until 4:15!
Sorry to be long winded, lol.
Kassandra,
I LOVE Vegas...my friend and I used to go about 3 times a year, but now we're down to about 1 with my stupid health issues. She's got a broken ankle at the moment, but her doctor is releasing her to go back to work next month, so we're already planning our next trip.
Sherry,
I'm actually a homebody myself, but I've been bit by the travel bug the last few years.

Yep, one of the best episodes yet, lol! Loved the ending, BUT I think there will be trouble ahead with the Rose situation.

I have noticed that my skin does not like the finishing dust. I break out from it!
I love the way it makes my skin look, but I don't like the way my skin looks 2 days later.
Yeah, I stopped using a finishing dust and went to silk dust...my skin seems to like it better. I wasn't breaking out so much as it just felt weird.
I can't find it on the site, and I'm afraid 153 pages is a LITTLE much for me to read at work. XDDoes anyone mind sharing what gram sizes are for the "small" and "large" eyeshadows are?
In fact, does anyone mind sharing the gram sizes of the foundations and blushes, too?
Thanks ever so much in advance!
I think the "small" eyeshadows are 2 gms. Don't quote me but I think the full size eyeshadows are 6 gms. The samples come in the same size as the small or mini size, but there is only about 1gm or so of product in there.
I think the "small" sizes in blush and foundation are probably 6 grams and the large 8 grams. The samples are probably less than 1 gram, but still PLENTY to get an idea of how you will like it. I used one of the sample foundations for a couple of weeks I think. BUT, if your name is MANGO, you might not last that long.
j/k Mango

Yeah...my appointment to go over the results is on June 5, so about 2 weeks!

Tomorrow is my DMPS challenge...I'm actually excited about that!
I'm sitting here counting the minutes until I can go home!
DMPS challenge, massage, 4-day weekend...life is good! Only 184 minutes to go!

I'm thinking you may not have an issue at all. Most doctors won't believe the Celiac diagnosis even if you present the evidence. My gastroenterologist, did say that diet is a valid indicator, but did not give me an official diagnosis because my endoscope did not show damage and my blood tests were within normal ranges. I had been gluten-free for 5 months by the time I saw him, and low carb for several years before that, so the chances of missing the damage were great...even so, he did not give me the official diagnosis, which is just fine by me.
Your experience with your doctors may certainly be different, I just wouldn't be surprised if they don't believe it.

I think I am the only one who has good luck with DHL, lol! I usually get my stuff in about 4 days from the date I order.
The kits were up this morning on the new site, but I can't add anything to them...I got some kind of warning about my computer not allowing cookies and you need cookies to add stuff to the cart. I do have cookies allowed, but it's restricted so later on I'll figure out how to okay it just for that beta website.

Did I hear vegas? Maybe one day we can all meet up in vegas like maybe kassandra's 21st birthday, it gives us 4 yrs to feel perfect lol
Another excellent idea! I'm always up for Las Vegas!
-
Sherry,
More on this summer, lol....when do you think you might be here? My friend wants to go to Las Vegas, so I'd plan that trip around yours!

God i would love to meet you girls in person!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me too!
After my experience, I'd still suggest several opinions especially re: foot surgery. The man who just did my custom orthotics tho not a doctor, has worked with the medical school for many years in two departments, father is an orthopedic surgeon, and he is the trusted source of orthotics by this major athelete's doc I mentioned. Anyway, he was a great source of information!!! He told me 3/4 of foot surgeries are failures.I've had custom orthotics made (for the PF) and they were great. Yeah, I know the foot surgeries are kind of iffy. My friend just had one for bunion and she had a great experience, but I know they all aren't like that. Her before and after photos are amazing and she is relatively pain free (currently still in the healing process--the soft cast just came off).
Woohoo...how about this summer while I'm in the US?You, Andrea and I could get together!! LOL
I LOVE that idea!!!I LOVE that idea too!!!!! Seriously, I'd do it!
LOL....HEY...if all of us West Coasters meet up maybe we can drag Donna to Walgreens too!!Um, I'm thinking even with 3 or 4 of you, you MIGHT get me into Walgreens but I doubt even that many of you could get me into THAT aisle!
Yeah, but I'm betting she'll go for the chocolate, not the enema bag.Yeah! What Carla said!
That or lip glosses!
Hey, everyone. Heard from my husband today and the assessment is that it is not really necessary for me to go to the disaster area next week. I am quite relieved, as I think that is better for me health-wise.Oh, I think that is great! It would have been VERY stressful!
I don't know if anyone knows anything about this, but I thought I'd ask. I just don't want to go 90 days again, because I am already borderline anemic.Don't really know.
-
Yeah, I've ordered a few of the free sample kits! You just pay the $3.95 shipping.
I starting using Bare Essentials a few years ago because regular makeup started reacting...then a couple of years ago I started reacting to the BE too, so I was really happy to find this makeup! So far so good!

Massage won out, lol! Just made the appointment. I'll call in a minute to see if the tire place is open on Monday...if so I'll make it for then.
-
I still want to meet you gals that are closer to me.....unless the ones that are further come over this away. Not that I have any money whatsoever to travel. Maybe someday......
If you come up here I'll still be your chauffer.
I'm still thinking about flying up there to see Dr. Amy...
I'm thinking about getting a massage today .... there's a new place here that does an introductory massage for $39. Then, if you sign up for their monthly program, you get one a month for $49. Seems SO worth it!That's a great price! I pay $75 for 1 hour! It's so worth it even at that price, lol! I'm thinking I should skip tires on Saturday and go for a massage. At least if I don't feel well I could probably still make it to the massage, whereas if I don't feel well, it'd be hard to wait through tires.
Speaking of herxes...I've been having bad D the past 2 days...it might be part of a little herx...so far so good with the Tindamax.
Sorry you're having a tough time this time!

Finally slept slightly better last night...at least I got to sleep quicker...still woke up a lot more than normal, but getting to sleep quickly just seems to make it all right, lol.
Well folks, I am so discouragedI'm so sorry my friend! Stupid outbreaks!
I called the LLMD yesterday and he wants me off the sucralfate and when I start the supplement to raise my seratonin levels he wants me off the tramadol and to take Tylenol instead (risk of seratonin syndrome with the tramadol and I'm allergic to NSAIDs). I'm not happy about this to say the least, but the only other option would be narcotics, and none of us are willing to do that.Hope that does the trick.
Remind me about what is happening with your foot? Just wanted to mention that I went to two different podiatrists for several visits, they ordered orthotics, one gave me shots. Both were bringing up surgery.
I have a bunion on my right foot. Visually, it doesn't look like it, but an xray confirmed it. My toe has REALLY been hurting a lot lately. It's hard to walk sometimes, so I decided to ask my doctor about whether she could tell if it was gout, bunion or arthritis. They did an xray and a blood test to check for gout...the xray showed a bunion.
I already wear good supportive shoes that are fairly wide and have good arch support (from my stint with plantar faciitis several years ago--since then I only wear good shoes except for a couple of hours on Sunday where I have worn dress shoes, lol), so I'm not sure what else can be done other than surgery. I'm not anxious for surgery but I want the pain to stop so I can walk normally and do my workouts. I've gained 15 pounds since August, and it's like a vicious cycle...the extra weight isn't helping the foot situation, and the foot situation isn't helping the weight situation because I can't exercise like I need and want to.
It is so important to our health to be able to be real with at least some people in our life. I don't think we should tell everyone--that's not having appropriate boundaries. But being able to tell at least some people and welcoming their support is important. Sometimes if we play the hero all the time, others don't realize we need a kind word or an affirmation.Yeah, I rarely tell anyone the whole story, lol. I figure they wouldn't believe me anyway.
I have two friends who know MOST of it, but still not all. You all here are probably the closest ones to hear the whole thing.
Thanks for that!
Having now met some of you in person, it makes it a little more "real" here. Thanks again!

Coke vs. Pepsi anyone?
Pepsi, definitely!

What, Susie had no chocolate?! Susie, my desk is loaded with Hershey's Nuggets!

I figure that bad drivers are God's way of pointing out to you which people need prayers.
It saves on the frustration level when you say, "God, please bless that @$$." Okay, maybe I'm not that good at it ....
I've tried that for a while...but I'm probably one of those drivers that needs the prayer.
-
The new hours sound better to me since I absolutely HATE getting up early. I hope the end work time doesn't cause you a lot of problems....seems like there would be more traffic on the road at that hour.
Yeah, the traffic thing is the most worrisome to me...I'm SO NOT a happy-go-lucky, cheerful driver.
None of those pleasant adjectives works for me!
But i guess i have no other choice. Would it be best to shave off hair from below or cut it. So much for hiding my c=section scar lolI cut mine, but be very careful, lol. If you shave I wouldn't use any cream or anything that might stay on the hair.
-
OMGosh Paula, that is so frustrating!!!!!! I'd be upset too!
With my test they had a little "weigher" thingy...it was a piece of cardboard basically that was folded in such a way that when you put enough hair on it, it tipped to the side that the hair was placed on.

Just made an appointment for next month to see the gastroenterologist for a followup to all the ampulla business, lol. It was a good day to make the appointment since I'm having pain in the upper abdominal area today...right below the left ribcage.
Also made an appointment with a podiatrist for the stupid foot.
AND, I'm changing my work hours starting next week. I'll be coming in a lot later which is good for days like today when I could probably use a little extra time in bed, but not so good for appointments and stuff. Dr. S should be happy though! He wanted me to start work much later than I do. So, instead of getting up at 4 a.m. and starting at 6:30, I can probably sleep until 5:30 or 6:00 even to be at work by 8:00. Yay. I'll absolutely HATE getting off at 4:00, but them's the price ya pay, lol. I think my boss would be agreeable to letting me cut my hours too, so first I'll see how this goes and if I just can't handle the late hour I'll see if I can cut my hours back a bit.

Hey Nyxie! Glad to see you are still alive and cranky!
Was wondering where you were!
-
P.S.
I'm sorry about your sleepless nights Donna, that's frustrating
I hope you get some rest soon!
Thanks...yes, it hasn't been this bad in quite a few months, and when it was, it wasn't usually that I couldn't GET to sleep, so this is new for me, lol. Usually I fall asleep just fine, but wake up at 1:00, and when it was really bad, I just wouldn't fall back asleep at that point.

Hopefully when we figure this out, it'll help. I feel sicker than I've ever felt in my life. But that's normal for the first couple of weeks on Biaxin (my first antibiotic), right? I've only been on it like 11 days and I can't breathe...the air hunger is SO bad...my heart races...I get this dizzy feeling and horrible weird pressure in my jaw and the back of my head and I feel like I'm going to pass out. I can't walk much
Is this normal or do I need to go back to a regular MD and start from square one? It's so hard not to freak out and feel like you're TOO sick...I've never had all of THESE symptoms before.
Well, I've not been on antibiotics for Lyme, but I can say that in the past, using antibiotics for other things, sometimes I felt pretty bad on them. I did okay on Biaxin, but was only on it for 14 days. Judging from what others here have posted, yeah, it can be like what you've described.
You know what's not making the pressure and woozy feeling better? The fact that my wisdom teeth are coming in, looking a teeny bit impacted. I don't think I could survive getting them out though now. It wouldn't be safe. Have you all had yours out?I had my wisdom teeth out when I was a teenager, so wasn't sick back then. I'm not sure I could do it now, lol.

WOW, Christi rocked last night! I thought they were all good, but her two routines were really exciting and fun to watch. I'll be so shocked if she doesn't win this, lol. I actually voted this morning on abc.com!
