  1. Donna, what's the other med you will be taking?

Be careful with the Tindamax .... it goes after the Lyme. It was the one that really knocked me on my butt.

I don't know...they kept the paper with the name on it, lol. I thought it was written down on the sheet I have, but when I got home I noticed it wasn't.

The pharmacist here talked to me a little about the Tindamax...she said to take it with food because it can make me sick, lol, and to take it away from my supplements and stuff. Not really sure how I'm going to work all this out...may be time for another spreadsheet! I only have to take it for 14 days though.

I'm going to call Dr. S as soon as I get the other med to see if this will interefere with the challenge next week. I can probably wait until after the test if he thinks it will, but on the other hand he may not want me to do it at all if he thinks I have a parasite, lol.

I saw your update too! Hope the switch works and hope Chloe doesn't have to go back on meds.

  2. Oooohhh....really liked the freebie they sent out "Raspberry Sherbert". Very nice sheer plummy pink.

Had a doctor appointment today with a doctor who only works Wednesday and Friday mornings, so I took the day off work and after my appointment decided to look at Nordstroms for some shoes, and since Sephora was so close, it was my DUTY to stop in.:P:rolleyes::ph34r:

I bought a heated eyelash curler!!!! I've been wanting to try one for so long, and, well, since I have an infection and have to be on antibiotics for a while, thought I DESERVED the eyelash curler. And I DESERVED the two lip glosses and two nail polishes too. I also DESERVED the little sample of tooth whitener. :P;):lol:

Thank goodness for that rather large insurance reimbursement I wasn't expecting. I DID use some restraint though....I DID NOT purchase the huge Sephora train case that I specifically went there to look at. :P

  3. Updates:

I'm going to be taking an antibiotic and an antifungal for the parasite/infection they found for 14 days. I picked up Tindamax today, but the other one has to be ordered from some pharmacy in Washington...I should get that Friday. I have to take both at the same time. The parasite is blastocystis...I hope it's slow at work tomorrow so I can look all this stuff up. The Klebsiella is also back, but my doctor said that it's nothing to worry about. She said it's more of a side effect from the other infection. Kleb is present all the time I guess but the other infection has thrown everything out of balance. After I've done the two meds, I'm supposed to take lots of probiotics, then we'll retest to make sure it's gone.

My neurotransmitters are still out of balance, with the excitatory ones being really active, lol. We're tweaking the stuff I'm taking, plus I've got two more things that she added today.

I got my labs back from last week. Everything is pretty normal except a couple of things...my lymphocytes are low again. They were low last year too.

My B12 was off the charts, lol, so she suggested I stop the injections, as did the doctor I saw today. Of course I have to run this by Dr. S to see what he says, but I have to admit I'm NOT sad about stopping them, lol.

My creatinine was at the lowest number of the low range...the doctor I saw today didn't think that was anything to be concerned about.

The only other thing out of range was Neutrophil...it was high.

My cholesterol was good...the "ratio" that they use to determine risk was 2.9 where anything less than 3.5 is a low risk for heart problems.

  4. Oh, and I forgot to mention that on Saturday I bought some Loreal Decrease that they talk about on the forums over there. It's a eyeshadow primer. So far it's been working pretty well, and hasn't made my eyes itchy or burn. My eyes DO look a little puffy but that could just be my health in general, lol. I have no idea if it's gluten free...guess I should look at the ingredients.

  5. just to freak everyone out these are some of the foods I ahve been experimenting with-

`pizza, mac and cheese, mconalds cheeseburgers, starbucks frapaccinos, uhhhhhh... I think ive gone loony bins

    :o:o:o AMAZING!!!! :D

Random question: anyone have a hard time swallowing? It's like my throat doesn't like food. :P It is like there is a lump in my throat...strange.

Yeah, I do, but not necessarily with food...it CAN be with food, but I can also just be sitting here and not be able to swallow.

The thing that's so very confusing is my stomach...I know we've talked about bloating on here (hehe) so I've mentioned that I'm always bloated, and NEVER hungry...but now I have this horrible hunger pain that I can't really satisfy. Anyone ever get this?

I get the terrible hunger pain thing...usually happens in the middle of the night for me though. But yeah, I can be completely fine and then all of a sudden it's like extreme hunger. That's one reason why I eat so frequently.

Rachel, this is a question for you, and anyone else who might have some info on ketotifen. I'm new to this forum, so I hope I'm not posting in the wrong place? I read some of your posts over the last few years, and I feel like I can totally relate to you!

I know someone here has talked about ketotifen, but I can't remember now who it is.

I sold my first rinne bar from my restaurant yesterday, wahoo!!! I am working seven days a week, six hours a day behind the grill, doing all the cooking, shopping and cleaning. I need help! Let me be specific, I need good help that shows up and pays attention.

    YAY!!!!!! HOW exciting!!!!

Im just reading along. Im kinda in an weird place right now. I have no idea why tho. Maybe once I get my hair test back, I can think more clearly.

I was there a few weeks ago. Very strange place indeed!

I just sent out the email. Just PM me if you want it and didn't get it. :)

I'll PM you my email address.

  6. Does anyone sleep past their alarm a lot? I almost totally missed an appt I have today because I was fast asleep! I don't know what woke me up, but it wasn't my alarm! :o

My alarm is my iPod hooked up to an iHome so it blasts music when I set it...I slept through 50 minutes of that! :o :o

I swear, it's a Lyme symptom! LOL!

Um, NO, lol. I wake up fully 30 minutes BEFORE my alarm goes off! If it's a lyme symptom, I didn't get it, lol.

  7. I never did have the Humaworm tested. If I did it's completely gone from my head, lol.

There is already a script written for something prescription, but the receptionist couldn't give it to me until I've seen the doctor.

I may try taking more herbal stuff until then.

I sure hope this doesn't delay the DMPS testing! I don't think it will, but I know he wanted to make sure I was over the virus...not sure this is the same thing. As soon as I find out what it is I'll be taking I'm going to call the nurses and ask them if it will interfere or cause any problems with the testing.

  8. Candice,

my only experience with Biaxin was with the PrevPac I took last year...it was in conjunection two other meds for H Pylori...it seemed to be okay for me, but I only had to take it for 14 days. I haven't had to do IV stuff YET, but I think that's coming up soon for me.

    Carla,

Hum, maybe I'll order some of that, lol. I'm on a couple of Cowden herbs already and I printed off the "schedule" that I found on the website for what not to take with what, lol.

    Everyone,

Back from my exam. I lost my mind and let her give me a TETINUS SHOT!!! I can't believe I did that. My arm is very sore at the moment to constantly remind me of my stupidity!:lol:

She also x-rayed my foot to see why my toe hurts so much.

She's running lot of bloodwork, but mostly it'll all be the conventional stuff conventional docs usually run, but she is testing for uric acid to rule out gout. She'll also be checking a couple of other things not usually done.

I had a great nurse today...didn't feel the needles at all, either time.

She is referring me back to Dr. R (gastroenterologist) for followup. It's been a couple of years since I've seen him and I think she'd like to know just as much as I would whether the cells around my ampulla are normal. This all came about because I asked her if any of the testing we did today would catch cancer if the cells had turned cancerous in the last two years. What she said in response was, "well we don't want to wait until it shows up in a blood test". So that's when she suggested I see Dr. R for a followup.

  9. Katy,

 very funny! I did an "at-home" mold kit, but I wouldn't say it was cheap...it cost somewhere between $180 and $200 I think, and I don't know how reliable it really is.

    Paula,

Wow, the mold guy sounds perfect!

    Everyone,

I've got parasites! !! Kept thinking that it'd been a long time since I did my labs, so I asked when I was at HN yesterday. Sure enough my labs were in, they just hadn't called me. I have to discuss them with the doctor, but the receptionist did show me the stool lab...don't remember the name of the stupid bug, but I know I have to take a prescription to get rid of it. Don't know what the script is for...she couldn't give it to me until I see the doctor, and that won't be until next week. She only works Fridays and Wednesdays in the mornings, and since I have today off for my annual exam, I couldn't take tomorrow off.

Now I feel stupid not taking my second round of Humaworm!! I knew something was wrong too because I've been having issues and the "rice" things are back.

    Stupid bugs! Harumphf!

  10. Thanks, Donna .... I didn't know her really well .... you know how it is in the choir .... btw, we haven't heard about your choir lately, are you still doing that?

Yeah, we've lost a lot of people from the choir since I've been a member, some I knew better than others, but it's kind of like family even if you don't know them well.

Yep, still doing that and the ensemble. You may recall my encounter with the solo a few months ago, lol...stayed tuned for more about that on Friday. :P

  11. I see many of the same doctors and practitioners as Rachel does, so yes, it's GREAT to have a team of practitioners who know about each other and work together!

Joni, yours sounds very promising! I have been able to cut down a little but at one time I had a SPREADSHEET to keep track of everything I had to take, lol! I still take lots of supplements though. For convenience I do buy most of them at their offices, but I do buy some of them at Whole Foods once I know what I need to take.

  12. Oh and I figured since I went all emotional on you guys, I should probably at least tell you my name :) It's Candice.

Sooo...I'm wondering....do you all feel like you've made progress with your health? How long have you all been at it? And for those of you with Lyme...I'm wondering...have your food sensitivities cleared up (Carla, I know yours have :) ) and if so, how long did it take?

Well hey there Miss Candice! :) I do feel like I've made progress with my health! From 2002 to 2005 I had chronic infections (sinus, bronchitis, etc), that the doctors couldn't figure out. I basically was on antibiotics that whole time. Since then, I've only been sick like that a couple of times. We've also discovered a lot of the reasons WHY I've been sick, so that's the first step in fixing it. I've had other improvement in symptoms too. Some of my sensitivities HAVE cleared up, but not all, and I think that's because I'm still exposed to the mold and I still have metals issues in addition to the lyme. The one big sensitivity that cleared up was chicken! I can now eat chicken again, lol.

I haven't been brave enough to try gluten, but I can say that the sensitivity to dairy is still strong as ever. :( I'm hoping once I get the mold taken care of and some of the metals chelated, I'll be able to add more things back.

Oh, I got my lab results faxed into the office while I was there, and my CD57 came back at 25. <_< Guess I really can't ask for a more definitive dx of chonic lyme between herxing, Ehrlichia, and this.:(

Sounds like a good appointment! Not surprised about the 25 on the CD57, lol.

Has anyone here taken Flagyl? Or Diflucan?

I've only taken 2 doses, last night and this morning and WOW!!! LOL! I'm already herxing hard. I went to my uncles house for an hour and had to leave because I was getting so dizzy, headachey, etc.

Anyone get that feeling where you're not in your own body? Like, I'm watching me drive, walk, etc. but I'm not doing it? (Does that make sense? ) It's so strange.

I took ONE diflucan tablet ONE time, lol. That's all my insurance would pay for...so I guess I can't answer that question, lol.

I have had the out of body thing...fortunately that seems to have gotten MUCH better in the last year. I still ocassionally find myself doing something very strange though.

    Sorry about your uncle!

I found out when my insurance went up to $400 a month.

I have AAA...I think they're more expensive....actually I think they're feaking out of their minds for charging what they charge! OMG...I got a couple tickets.....you'd think I've had a ton of accidents or DUI's with what they're charging me!!

I have allstate and they are almost as bad! My insurance almost doubled when I hit my neighbor's car a couple of years ago...it still hasn't gone back to where it was! That sucks, lol. I don't pay $400 a month though, so that's good...I guess that's where being "older" helps.

I'm sorry Kassandra. :( I actually am going to a funeral tomorrow. A lady in the choir died .... very sad. She had colon cancer. She and I understood each other because we both understood living with long-term illness and she was sick much of the time from chemo. I'm playing flute. :) Was this a person you were close to?

Aw Carla, sorry about your friend!

  13. I would have to say don't isolate, even with these life restrictions of chronic illness there is lots of life to be lived. It may be on a smaller scale, but there is still life to be lived.

Support groups, or threads like this can be a godsend, so that you can have people in your life that are going through the same or similar things.

Excellent advice miss Julie Marie! :)

  14. I had to have my hubby hold my make-up train case so i could see. He was like can u hurry up, this is heavy.

Okay, I'm sorry, but this is just FUNNY!!

So who all had this kind of test done? Andrea, Carla, julie and Rachel.

Me too. I couldn't use my head hair though, lol. I dye my hair every 5 weeks, so that wouldn't have worked.

  15. I'd like to say I do all of the above suggestions, but the truth is that lately I've just not been going. We just had staff appreciation week, and the whole week centered around food, lol. I just ended up not going to any of it. For me it's not just gluten, but I have sensitivities to so many other foods, that it's just not that simple, and I DO feel a bit awkward just sitting there while everyone else is eating.

Celiac is not unfamiliar in my office as there are other who have it here, but again, they don't quite get that I have other sensitivities. So rather than go through my whole list of what I can't eat, I just don't go, lol. It's okay, I can socialize at other times, and I don't feel left out or anything. Fortunately for me, a lot of the events are scheduled after I leave for the day so that decides it for me, lol.

  16. I've been thinking about bart too because my feet have been hurting more too...like the bottoms of my feet. It's not plantar faciitis--I've had that before.

Hum, maybe a couple of days I took extra banderol, but only like 1 drop. I'm only taking 5 drops twice a day, and I think one day I accidentally put in 6 drops, lol.

  17. Paula,

Um, I think we've all been in denial about one thing or another, lol, so you're in good company.

    Rinne,

Glad you stopped by! Glad you got the nausea thing figure out.

    Hi Calicoe,

Wow, I saw a lot of my own symptoms in your post! Glad you found us.

    Kassandra,

Stupid insurance...but I LOVE Las Vegas, lol.

    Rachel,

Sorry about the costly repairs...that was one of the things that set me so far behind last year...two $1500 repairs in a short time.

So is there a way to find out how many points you have against your driving record, lol?

I'm hoping to buy a new car next year sometime. Carpet first, then car, lol.

    Birdy,

Sorry about your herx/flare...yeah, my doctors all warn me about doing too much, so I just don't do anything. Good luck in Cleveland.

    LittleMiss,

I know we've talked about the foot baths before here, but I can't remember who has tried them now, lol.

Besides around here we have so many lyme brains...that we have to repeat things a lot to get them. So asking about something is normal even when we aren't behind reading 30 pages!!!

Ain't that the truth, lol!

Other sites mention that it really lowers blood sugar and is used to treat diabetes.

I figure it is supposed to work to regulate blood sugar, help the liver, boost the immune system, get rid of worms and help with infections. So it probably will help and likely won't hurt.

Ooh, must check this out. I KNOW I'm having a problem with sugars now....sugar metabolish, blood sugar, etc. I can feel it.

    Everyone,

Well, I am perplexed.:unsure::lol: I just don't get it...my body that is. So my neck has been really sore (left side) again lately and so has my right big toe. But here's what is perplexing...my throat is tender...not really sore, just tender. It's like it wants to be sore but it's not there yet. My right ear has been itchy and "hot" for a couple of days, and today there is pain there. The pain comes and goes and is tied to the throat (like when I swallow). Now, I get this from time to time, but it's usually when I eat too much diary. But, I haven't eaten any dairy! I've also been pretty good about not eating gobs of sugar since I saw Dr. S last week, haven't had a single piece of chocolate since then, just a little agave nectar on a couple of days which is much less than I was having.

It almost sounds like I might be having a little herx or flare, but I'm not really taking anything new or extra (well, did take extra caprylic acid one day, lol). Could just cutting out the chocolate cause the ear/throat thing, lol?!
