I'm concerned because I remember hearing in the news that someone from Saskatchewan here years ago got some simple tests done in the US and had to pay over $30,000...
WOW!!! Yeah, I think things work a lot differently here. I had to pay the whole cost up front, but was reimbursed by my insurance company. My insurance plan allows me to see whoever I want. They have an in-network rate and I pay 30% if I go outside the network.

I LOVE having someone new to play with, lol!!!! Yay!
Generally, I use one shade of eyeshadow for most days. I pick a more neutral shade with just a little color and put that all over, then I'll use a darker shade for an eyeliner, a little mascara and I'm done.
Somedays I'll also add a second color on my lower lid...staying pretty close to the lashes.
Sometimes I'll carry that up at the corner into the crease area...kind of like a sideways V...I guess that would be > lol.
TODAY, I did something totally weird, lol. I put on Mistletoe, which is a nice sparkley green. The last time I used this I put it on over another lighter color and the time before that with a brush--both times it was subtle with just a hint of color. This time I put it on first with my finger. Um, GREEN!!!!
So, I went over that with a lighter color. Then I had to add a dark eyeliner and lots of mascara.

By $200 do you mean its what you guys in the US pay to be tested??
Sorry I'm just a little confused and trying to figure out if I can afford any of this.
~ Lisa ~
Yeah, I paid $190 last year for the two western blots--I'm in California, USA.

for the hair analysis, does the doctor have to be a holistic one?? I'm considering going to see a new doctor, who is a chiropractor but apparently does everything. highly recommended. but i tear up at the thought of going to yet another doctor. the whole, getting my hopes up and then having them crash down really depletes what little energy i have these days.
My LLMD (not really holistic, he's a regular MD, but does accept some alternative ideas and testing) ordered the particular test I did. I also go to a clinic founded by two chiropractors (they also have two internists and some physical therapists)...they also could have ordered the test.
The sinuses! Egads...I had THREE horrible years of one continuous sinus infection! It was awful...I was on antibiotics and prednisone nearly the whole time. Mine cleared up when I cut out gluten and dairy but recently flared up again because I've been eating too much chocolate (so really, part of my sinus issue might be candida)...stupid bugs!

Yes Julie, I think we must indeed be twins!!!!
OMGosh...I got to work today and saw that everyone was raving about the new site but couldn't get there! It was torture I tell you, lol!
I cannot wait to order!!!!! Just playing around the new site (cuz we can't order yet), I had about $40 worth of just new stuff in my cart, lol. I can not wait to actually hit the button!!
-
The descriptions on the old website were tedious, but they did help me pick the right foundations I think, lol. Now there's a new one I want to try! Yay, lol.
OMG, I LOVE the pearl concealors, lol. I'm going to be a shiney KERMIT!

How do you guys put multiple quotes in one reply??? I cannot figure this out!
At the bottom right of each post there are some buttons "+ quote" and "reply". If there are several posts you want to quote, hit the "+ quote" button. Nothing happens except that the + turns to a - and the button turns red. Keep doing that until you have chosen all the posts you want to reply to, then at the bottom of the page hit the main reply button. All the posts you selected should turn up in the window. You ahve the choice of then deleting out the text of each quote that you don't want (but make sure to leave the quote tags intact)...then you just reply beneath that particular quote.
April, yes, post the results along with a description of your symptoms on LN. Also post them here ... many of us know a little about IGeneX.Yes, and I'll add them to our spreadsheet!

I cant get it to load either. They said some servers will take time to recognize it as an website. Of course i wont be able to buy now that i lost my diamond in my ring. Today is not an good day. Im going back to bed lol
I just can't tell you how awful I feel about this for you!!! Look everywhere! An old boyfriend gave me a beautiful opal ring...I loved that ring--the opal was the most beautiful I have ever seen. We broke up, but I kept that ring, lol. I got married, moved to Hawaii, and one day while riding the bus home with a bag of groceries, I kept getting scratched by my ring...couldn't figure it out. When I got home and put the bag down I could see that the stone had fallen out. It was a truly sick sinking feeling!

The link was posted on a message from Admin in the news section, then by a couple of people in posts on the forum over there. I couldn't get any of the links to actually load...I kept getting IE errors...then someone answered my anguished plea on the news section with this link and I was able to get to the new site:
Open Original Shared Link
Please note that I think they do not want us to register or order from the new site until it is secure. I think when the link goes up on the main page the security issues will have been resolved.
I'm excited because there are quite a few new things I want to order!!!

Oh Paula!! I'm so sorry! I hope you are able to find it!

If you have google toolbar installed, you can have a button there for google bookmarks and you can import all your bookmarks into google bookmarks and use them at homa and at work.
I have not found any way to get tmen back into the microsoft internet explorer bookmark , though, unless you export the bookmarks (you should do taht periodically anyway as a backup) and then you dan copy them over to a memory pin and copy them to the home computer and import them back into the favourites.
I think if you have firefox as a browser it is possible to get them intohte favourites of several computers by using the gmarks application. First google bookmarks and then gmarks as far as I remember.
Thanks Nora...I am going to try this!
Its just a really great feeling to be participating in life again! It's great to SEE you participate in life again!!!

I can't load the stupid site, lol! Arrrggg!!!

Still nothing, lol. But, I'm not excessively stalking the site or anything.
Actually, I'm not, lol
Okay, so apparently the way to look well rested is NOT to get enough sleep, which just didn't happen last night. Apparently it is: Tinted Silk Dust, Sunkissed Fair Foundation in matte, Hot Chocolate and Favorite Hoodie on the eyes and summer stroll on the cheeks, and blending two shades of lip gloss.
Got a great compliment today...choir director said I looked well rested, lol...then I said that actually I didn't sleep well, but for some reason I feel better than I normally do and he said it LOOKED like I felt better.
Or,
maybe,
I just smiled more!
Where is that darned NEW site!!!???!!!
Note the use of excessive emoticons!
I guess I DO feel better,
Or,
it could be that I just gave myself a B12 shot.
Okay, off to check that other website...the one with the gluten free mineral makeup. Sorry, cracking myself up today!

I'm so sorry you're having this horrid flare!!!
it's been a while since I've done the research on the C.D57. What was your score...mine was 84...the highest among those of us on this thread who had it done. At the time we all had ours done, we determined that the numbers pretty accurately corresponded to how severe our symptoms were. Those who were struggling the most had the lowest scores and those of us who were sick, but not as severe had the higher scores...all of them were under the optimal score of 160-200 that doctors like to see it at. If I remember correctly (and that's a BIG IF, lol) the C.D57 was pretty specific...it measures the killer T cells, and I wish I could remember why that is so indicative of lyme, lol. All my bookmarks are at work, so if by Monday no one else has answered your question, I can look up some of my bookmarked sites.

Ahhh the white spots, you suffered from them too? They are SO obnoxious. It seems that when they show up my throat and ears start to itch and feel a little swollen and icky. Did ya get to experience that as well?
We are fun!
My throat feels "hot" when I get them...sometimes sore too and yes, my ears are affected too. Stupid white spots!
Speaking of eating a whole calf, how can you digest that fatty grass feed organic hamburger meat Rachel? I tried it and it felt like I had pop rocks in my gut. Isn't it like 10 percent fat?egads...if you only knew how much fat I eat, lol! The organic is 16% fat I think...may be why you can't handle it. I buy the 9% fat (non organic though), but I' d really rather have the 20 or 30% stuff.
Or maybe it was something like I realized that I had lost my fortitude and that it has been replaced with something much softer and that as a result of that it creates a space for people to step into. I was always so strong willed,a little bit I think people stayed out of my way.
I think you should write a book! You always have the best way with words!!!

I may have to resign from the cult! I went out of the house today WITHOUT makeup, lol!
Just checked...still no link.

Ok i tried to read all the new post, but i had an mold breakdown yesterday. I did one of the mold plated in the kitchen/boiler area. Well the last time i looked at the plate it didnt show much of anything, so i thought to myself the mold is all in my head lol. Well yesterday i grabbed it and looked at the plate, and it was covered with black, green and yellow mold. I freaked out and had an small breakdown. I hurried and sent the mold plates in to be teseted.
Paula, I never saw anything on the plate...I had to leave it out for only an hour or two, then seal it and send it in.
Hair AnalysisYou guys have mentioned this before--what is it? Is it for Lyme or Metals or what? Also-- where do you go to have it done?
Same as Andrea, my doctor ordered it. We knew it wouldn't be that accurate for me as far as metals, but it was a good way to see how my mineral looked. The test I had done showed a range of metals and some minerals. The only metal that came back way elevated was silver. I'll find out more accurately (hopefully) what's going on when I have my provoked challenge next month. My minerals were all out of whack, lol. As Rachel said, that can be an indication of metals issues.
The hair analysis can be accurate, but it will only show metals if your body is able to release them. I also color my hair so that makes the test way less accurate, lol.

Okay, who called the love fest and didn't wake me, lol! Adding mine:
Little Miss, Well, I can't take credit for the phrase...that's what my doctor called it, lol. We have others here around your age too, so that's going to be nice for all of you, lol. Me, I'm almost old enough to be your grandmother, lol.
Which leads to another subject. In terms of Candida, has anyone tried the Specific Carbohydrate Diet? I know that when I stay away from starches and sugar (of course, but it is hard) I do feel a lot better energy wise.Yeah, I tried it for a while. It seemed to help a little, but not enough to deal with some of the things one had to do to stay on it, lol. I'm also pretty restricted in what I can eat, and don't have the time to make a lot of stuff.
By the way, I don't know how to find this thread all of the time. That is why I only write sporatically.Someone mentioned we are in the leaky gut section...you can also press "View New Posts" at the top of the screen...we're almost always in that group of new posts...sometimes not on the first page, but somewhere in there, lol.
Anyone experience an enlarged spleen? How about white spots in their throat? It's so weird how symptoms seem to come in waves, and every wave brings something different. How lucky am I. What pleasant surprises....
OH and before I forget (again), is there a certain diet or way of eating that you guys tend to follow, or one should follow with lyme? I eat the same exact foods everyday because they're my "safe" foods, but I know that might have to change based on lyme related needs....
I have had the white spots on my throat and my tongue is coated white all the time.
As far as diet, I do like most and stick to protein and veggies and limit the carbs (unless I get hooked on Dove Extra Dark Chocolate, lol).
Yeah but my brain just doesnt think quite that logically...plus I'm a major procrastinator.Yep, yep, yep...I know a little about this lately, lol.
I consider it a strong message to the Lyme bugs who love the cold (did you know that Lyme has the ability to lower a person's blood temperature?) that there is no place for them here.Well said sage Rinne!
Sweet potato??No, we don't want a repeat of the sweet potato incidentOMGOSH!!! NO more sweet potato incidents for Rachel! I'd have to hunt her down, lol.
But it sounds like I tend to have beef episodes just as you have sweet potato episodesOkay, yes, no beef episodes for little miss either!
WE can't have two of you roaming around out there in beef and sweet potato stupors!
i have an announcement ~~~~~ Brace your selves I ahd gluten for the first time in 3 years (Well besides minor glutening episodes all accidental)More than I had gluten I had dairy for the first time in 4 years
Ok I had........
PIZZA!!!!!!!!!!! A real new york slice of regular pizza!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMGosh Mia!!!! Sooooooo how did that go, lol. How are you feeling after all that?!

Ack...I just looked and it's STILL not up, lol. I saw no links. At 3:00 in the morning they were still not done. Oh well...I guess I'll go spend a bunch of money on my car.
I have to have my car serviced today and I also need tires, so there...I'll do my shopping elsewhere.
Yeah, the oats. Oats was the only food that showed up as a positive on my food allergy testing. I tend to believe it too because the few times I've tried to eat them since then I've reacted. Still I'm hoping the amount that might be a concern (as far as cc) might not be a problem for me. (I know, I know, can you say wool over eyes--beautifully done eyes, but wool nonetheless, lol).
-
Hi LittleMiss! It's me (Donna) from the Lyme thread! I was actually going to say that you should come over here, but I thought you might be afraid of the 1900 pages, lol!
Yes a LOT of us here have lyme, and many of us have more than that. I have the big three...lyme, mold toxicity and heavy metal toxicity.
-
Thanks for the info on minerals!
Rachel, do you still have to make an appointment even if the IV is quick?
-
I may order without a new special, lol. I am in the MOOD to shop!
I may even hit up Sephora this weekend for a new train case.
Today's revisit: Comfy and Pots & Pans. I did it a little backwards though...I applied the Comfy first just and the lash line with my pinkie then put the P&P all over the lid...that way the darkness doesn't = dirtiness later, lol (hopefully).

I HAVE A DATE WITH THE ORANGE JUG!!!!!!!
Dr. S finally agreed it's time to do the provoked challenge, BUT I can't do it now, lol. He wants me to wait until next month to make sure I'm over the virus. He also wants me to stay away from the sugar until then, lol.
BUT, I DID make my appointment for the IV....It'll be on Friday, May 23! He's going to do a child's dose with me and I heard the nurse say "without" something or other, lol. The nurse said the first one will probably take longer than the others (should I have others, lol) because they need to give me a dose, then wait to see if there are reactions, then the IV. THEN, I get my orange jug.
I'm taking the day off work and I have the very first appointment of the day.
He said I looked very good, and he was pleased that things are moving forward with my flooring/condo, etc. He did say one thing which was slightly discouraging...I guess I'm one of only a few patients he has that has the triple whammy of mold toxicity, heavy metals and lyme, and he says none that are still exposed to all three are getting better...he doesn't want me to be one of those so he REALLY wants me to get the mold thing taken care of.
I'm trying, I'm trying, lol.
OK but my doctor thinks chronic fatigue is lack of sleep and/or stress.Yeah, I know in my case, I had no luck with the more conventional doctors. Fortunately for me I live in the same area as Rachel, so was able to see some of her doctors. Sometimes it just takes some diligent searching for the right doctor. I now have a team of doctors who take me seriously and are working towards making me better.
I'm soooo not excited about the possibility of having to get back on those dreaded 3 hour mineral IV's but I'm suspecting that I'll do better with them minus the copper. Crossing my fingers anyway. Maybe a miracle will happen and I'll tolerate the orals I ordered.Well, my challenge goes okay, I may be scheduling mine around yours, lol!
EVERYONE,
Speaking of minerals...what is everyone taking?
Dr. S really wants me to take minerals and a multivitamin. I have been taking something I got from Anna, but I really don't like it much. I'd like something I can get from Whole Foods, and maybe liquid, but staring at their shelves and trying to find something is overwhelming for me. So if anyone is taking some that they like, I'd be interested, lol.

Andrea, I think they are re-doing the lip glosses, which to me are definitely more like lipstick. I will say that the ones I've tried so far don't really show up on me at all, so even being more like a lipstick, they don't look like it. I'm hoping the new versions will be more like my beloved lip glosses, sheer with a hint of color.
I hadn't noticed the prices....good eye!
