  1. Hi Em! Welcome to the crazy make-up cult thread...Hey, is it a coincidence that your name is EM and you love EM makeup, lol?!!! I didn't wear makeup (only on Sundays) until this thread popped up into my life, lol.

Hey ladies, I figured out why the new special isn't up yet. Carina is in New York so everyone working at EM is not really working very hard, lol. You know the old while the cat's away deal...

    Slackers!

**I didn't like the competition! Their make-up is cr@p! Please post the new special!!!! ***

...if I didn't wear a dead raccoon as a hairpiece

  2. Any body have Veranda blush? I like the description and want to put it into my next sampler kit. Honestly, I wish it was 3 blushes and 1 foundation in the sampler kit.

I haven't tried Veranda YET...it's been in one or another of my kits a few times...it got kicked out again for another color, but I think I should put it back in. I kept trying the pinks trying to find my perfect one, and I think I found it in Pink Ribbon...I need one with more lavendar now...

Hum, off to peruse my shopping cart AGAIN, lol.

  3. Ugg, so much for getting up EARLIER to put on my makeup, lol. I slept late, BUT in true cult-like fashion, I skipped shaving my legs to I would have time for makeup. TMI? I think not! I also skipped taking my MULTITUDE of vitamins this morning...heck, that alone saved me 5-10 minutes. :P

What's new for today: I used my long handled kabuki to put on my foundation (up to now I've been using it for blush only)...it was nice and clean since I washed my brushes this weekend, so I decided to give it a try with foundation. Worked GREAT! I LOVE that little brush!

Eye shadow...Good China (my fav so far) as a base, and SNOWFLAKE near the lash line and in the crease and as a liner. I'm wearing a pretty lilac crocheted jacket...note to self...MUST find LILAC tennies! Oh, and lilac lip gloss.

You must not have ginger peach or diary they are full of shimmer. I love the ginger peach, I cant wait to get the rest of the shimmers, ughhh when will they put up a new deal, i want to order.

Nope...diary is in the order IN MY STUPID CART! Ginger Peach might be in the next order IF THEY WILL EVER CHANGE THE SPECIAL.

    So all is good.........

Noooooo, something is rotten in Texas!!! They haven't changed it YET!!! Bah!

Hmmm....I don't think EM has much to worry about.

    Phew! Cult calmness....phew.

What are they thinking? Are they just waiting for the EM cult members to email them so they know we are waiting for the new special and they can make it a crappy one???????? We have to play it cool this time. We can do this....

Hum...maybe you're on to something...seems like every time we "complain" about something magically happens to "fix" whatever it was we complained about....those ladies with the gianormous screens must monitor this thread...

What do we do? This is new and totally unfamiliar......

    I'm really scared!

Ladies, I have come away from the EM community boards with a wealth of information!

I LOVE those boards...I've been reading them every day!

Oh, and I talked to my hair dresser yesterday...she told me to go ahead and put in the color myself and she will tell me how it looks and if I need a lighter/darker color and then she's highlighting it. I haven't done it yet, but will soon.

Oh...you know, this is a great idea. I'm going to ask my hairdresser if I can put the dark in myself and just have her highlight!!!!! Yay, that will save me money! She never gets my dark dark enough to suit me. It may because at my age I would have greying hair, so the stark dark wouldn't look natural, but it could be a little darker! This way I can put the shade I WANT in and she can highlight!

  4. Congratulations Alex. I think I passed my two year mark back in December. :)

Most of the time. I still have the world's oiliest hair and it MUST be washed every morning, without fail.

    DITTO!

...on me such attire would be quite heinous.

    Ditto for me! Quite!

I don't think most of you saw Laura's initial post . . . before she fixed it!!! It had a size=1 . . . I wasn't sure if she was having trouble with the font size or if she was bragging!:lol:

I saw it, lol, and did notice the size, lol. Monte Python...I should get that movie. I LOVED it when I first saw it, but am ashamed to say, have not seen it since. GASP! Does that kick me out?!

    OMG - before gluten-free, I WAS a size 2 or 4, forever........ :( I miss that, I will confess.

    I was a size 4 and sometimes a 2! Bah!

I have been resisting the allure of the velour tracksuit 'Lady of Leeeeisure' suit for some time.......I was strangely drawn....and they looked oh so comfy...and lovely to touch...but damn!...I am so FAT now I have succumbed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But, they just don't make them to cover the butt (bum?...is that how it is spelled across the pond?! )... why the heck can't they make them to cover the massive butt I have?!

  5. Like a dutiful cult member who always follows her cult founder's commands, I put snowflake on over my pots and pans when I got home. Why does that just sound so wrong. :P Anyway, I am still not yet convinced that it isn't too dark, but it wasn't as dark as I thought it would be and looked quite nice actually. :P

So has anyone figured out if getting the custom kits is more economical than a la carte items??

    ...

Has anyone been a good little obsessed cult member and calculated that out?!?!

Um, I did. Is anyone surprised that I have?! I actually put the items in my cart separately, including brushes, then did them all as part of a kit. Worked out to be cheaper, depending on what all you want. B)

umm, big containers are all around $10, as are the brushes, so as long as you don't waste cour custom kits on small sizes or lip gloss you come out ahead (dad's a financial guy. I felt compelled to check this before ordering anything).

    Yeah, what she said.

So what is tomorrow? It's casual Friday isn't it? Maybe I will branch out and go for fancy friday or floozy friday. I need to know in advance so I can lay out my facial palate for tomorrow. :P

I may do froggy Friday and wear green so I can try my green eyeshadows, lol.

    or

Perhaps floozy Friday and wear snowflake, pink ribbon, and silver spoon all as eyeshadows.

I vote for flashy friday and we all have to wear an glimmer eyeshadow, i love the sparkles

You know, I'm not finding the eyeshadows very shimmery, lol. I think there is something defective about my eyes...snowflake too dark, glimmery eyeshadow not glimmering... :o

  6. Um, excuse me, you look QUITE glorious and nothing like ill-kept in your photo, you SILLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was on my way to church...so far two places where I don't YET wear my pajamas...church and work, although work is getting closer and closer. :P

I miss Monterey, I made my house into a crazy secret garden, such a HUGE wall of greenery in front - 'twas marvelous.......crazy dog lady w/ overgrown shrubbery..... LOVED IT

Oh, sounds like a lovely Donna kind of place.

    more rearranging of artifacts

Not the skull crusher I hope!

  7. So you might test well for some EFA's but when you take it it's another story?

Yeah...although, I can't remember for sure if I ever had them all tested. It seems like I had the one from the doctor tested, but not sure if I had the others tested. Flax was no use since that messed me up pretty badly pretty quickly. Hemp was almost as bad as that. I'll have to look back and see if I wrote down what the fish oils did.

I know there was one supplement that tested okay in ART, and he said it wasn't bad--not great though, so I made the comment that yes that was the one I thought reacted to, and he tested it in a different way and said that it was totally blocking something or other. I'm not sure if that was the fish oil or one of the other supplements.

  8. Ask and ye shall receive:

    33. When you have a spreadsheet to list all the stuff you have ordered, with columns for TYPE, COLOR, and COMMENTS! AND, you have another spreadsheet to list all the available colors of products so that you can TELL when there is a new color, because you get confused as to what was already there and what is new, and THAT list has little check marks next to the stuff you have already ordered. AND, you have another document which has all the items you NEED to get for your at the office kit, for full sized products for home use and future items you want to try.

  9. Have you ever seen a movie where they rob a bank and then throw the money all over the bed and roll around it while laughing hysterically? That is how I imagine Donna when her new eyeshadow sampler arrives. Rolling and laughing all over thousands of little plastic containers. How's that for a visual?

And not far off either!! Except....I don't wait til I get home...the mailroom guy always knows when I get a makeup order. I hardly wait to get it out of his hand before throwing myself down on the desk and ripping the box open.

  10. Did I tell you guys that the insurance company is going to pay for the Mepron and reimburse us for the last one we just bought? I don't think I said anything yet. I am not too excited because I don't believe them at all, so I'll believe it when I see it!

Yay...wish I didn't understand so well about not believing it until I see it, lol.

  11. Donna, I thought that was the whole point of the Magic Bullet, powerful and indestructible??

Apparently not in MY hands, lol. I've broken 3 of them now (or is it 4).

I make this cauliflower soup some of you might like to try:

Yummmm....that sounds sooooo good!!!! I must try it before the cold weather goes away. I actually might REALLY like this for breakfast!!!! And, it could be portable!

  12. Donna, I take Arctic Oils brand Omega Pure. They are mercury-free fish oil EFA's. Maybe they would test okay for you.

It's actually a physical reaction. I bought some mercury-free...tried a couple of different kinds too...one I got from my doctor, one from Whole Foods. But, I haven't tried cod liver oil yet--I can eat cod without reacting, so it's possible. I can't eat flax in any form, nor hemp apparently.
