Aw Andrea...I'm sorry to hear it...makes me sad too!
-
Well, my outing was GREAT...great fun!! We sat outside with our Starbuck's and my friend's dog was great. Very smart pooch! She learned my name in just a few minutes. Everytime my friend said my name the dog would look at me, lol. It was good to talk with my friend again...we haven't seen as much of each other since she got married with dog (not the husband's fault...just busy lives, lol).

Keep in mind that I was deficient in Vitamin D (blood tested), so they had me on a mega dose of 50,000 iu. That's a lot. I took D3, and ony took that high dosage for a couple of months. I bought it from my BioSET lady, so she was able to test me to make sure I could handle it and the dosage. I am not still taking it, but need to look into getting more, probably at a much lower dosage.

Okay the discussion on cancer caught my attention, lol. Mine isn't cancer YET but I have to wonder (I think I said this before) how much the precancer growth has to do with lyme, metals, etc. I have two root canals...the most recent just a couple of years ago...the other one about 12 years ago...that's right in line with the beginning of all the health issues, dental work, extreme emotional trauma and my trip to Vermont. I guess any ONE of those issues would have been enough to trigger stuff.
Ooooh, exciting outing today. A friend and her dog are picking me up and taking me either to Starbucks or to another place for lunch. I'd prefer Starbucks because I know the damage will be minimal there, lol, but I'm just excited to get out of the house and I get to play with a dog!!
Personally, if I still had any root canals or amalgams and I were diagnosed with cancer....this is the first thing I'd look into. Those toxins can have devestating effects on the immune system and on a persons health.Perhaps I should look into it, lol.
Donna, we'll have to remember this for when we're all better. We'll have to meet up for Palomino bellini's.Ooooh girls day out!!!! Bring it on!
Today I rode on the back of my FIL's Harley. When I got off, I could feel all my lymph nodes. Seems it did a better job than my rebounder.
The newbie who had missed my vein said "Why would it itch...are you allergic to metal or something??"Something to ask about if you have them again...when I had my foot surgery, they put my IV in my upper arm where it bends. I mentioned something to the nurse about not bending my arm and she said I could bend it because they don't use metal anymore...they use a really flexible plastic (like the tubing connected to the IV). Not that plastic is great for any of us, but it might be better than metal. Maybe they will get (or could get) something like this.
About the cancer, the latest officcial thing do do to help, is loads of vitamin D.Hum, I wonder if this is why my growth didn't change much in two years?
I was taking a lot of vitamin D for a few months during that time.

Welcome Aim301!!! I see you got an answer to your question. I usually order the foundation I want to try in three different formulations...there can be slight color variations between the formulations, but of course the final determination is whether it makes my skin look oily, lol. I've ordered about 6 sample kits I think.
. . . and just whose job is it at that company to come up with names like "spin cycle", "waffle cone", "gold medal", "dust bunnies", "lint trap", etc??!
More for the list:
Dirty Windows (an opague pearlescent brown)
Tub Ring (a nice charcoal gray)
And why not:
Wet sponge (an oil absorbing powder)
-
I'll be sure and remember this for when I'm better.....I gotta try *everything*.....I will add bellini to my list.
It's good!
So yeah...now I pretty much dont care....
I dunno. Donna.....do we have Palomino??
Pretty much sums it up for me too, lol.
I just don't care. I have some OCD tendencies, but apparently CLEANING isn't one of them!
I don't think I EVER cared about it.
I've never heard of Palomino so I'm thinking not.
-
Oh Jess! I DO apologize, lol! I really should have stopped in to say hello!
Actually I'm parked down the street from me too, lol. The last two Saturdays when my mom took me grocery shopping we passed it!
Paula, I got the freebies...I really like the looks of all three. I tried Bronze metal and really like it. It's not a bold color, so it looked very natural on my eyes. I think it might make a good "bronzer" blush too, so I want to try that next.
The silver medal reminds me of Smokey Pink with less pink, lol. I'm not sure I'm going to like that one, but since I didn't like Smokey Pink (hum, what's that other sort of silvery shadow...it's similar to that one too), maybe this one will be different enough that I'll like it.
The Gold Medal looks like a soft yellow with some pearlescent tendencies. I don't normally like yellows, but I think I might like this one.
-
No I haven't tried it as nail polish...doesn't the color come off when you paint the clear over it? Hum, I MUST try it...my foot is almost healed enough that I can paint my toenails.
-
Yeah, I've read a lot of complaints on their forum about the shipping issues. Fortunately for me I've received all my orders within a week so far. Before the site switchover I used DHL mostly, but since then I've been using USPS because it's much cheaper, and I still get the order within the week (used it two or three times now). I keep trying to figure out what goes wrong (mostly so I can keep avoiding it, lol).

Foot is still frozen, but actually feels pretty good today. I like not having the bandaging on...it was kind of like a security blanket, but now that it's gone I feel refreshed. Okay, not really, but it feels pretty good.
I'm getting some stabbing pains about twice a day...they last for about 5-10 minutes then they go away.
-
Yay, and then can you come over to my grandma's house tomorrow and help me clean??
Hey, I don't even clean my own house, lol. Cleaning makes me sick.
But I an expert on laying on the couch and telling people what needs to be done.
Everyone,
Yay, I got two loads of laundry done...and I've been icing my foot ever since, lol.
-
I'm not sure, but I think I may have been the only raver, lol!
I think it absorbs a little of the oil, but it's probably my imagination.
-
Yeah I noticed we have two confuseds a while ago...I'm always confused myself, but I was too confused to use it in my username.
So many lights will go off as you read the article, you'll be posting the whole thing! I was like, WOW! Oh, WOW! It puts it all together and fits ALL of us!!! It's about Lyme, metals, mold toxins, biotoxins, fatigue, etc. I think the guy who wrote it must read our thread.I finally read the article and yes...all sorts of lights went off. I don't know what the lights mean, but they went off!
Am I the only one who doesnt know what a bellini is??It's a drink and it is a mixture of sparkling wine (traditionally Prosecco) and peach pur
-
Okay you freaks...stop being so active at night, lol!
Glad to hear from you Kassandra! I'm interested in more about the NAET treatments when you are able to post more.
and heck...who doesnt wanna have a beer now and then??Um, that would be me, lol. I'm just weird, lol! Can't stand beer or wine...give me a bellini anyday, lol.
I think as soon as you have to go back to work you'll start missing the couch....
Yeah.....better stay off the road till its all better.
If you get any crazy ideas....let me know ahead of time so we dont end up "meeting" on the El Camino.
Yeah...I'll start missing the couch on that first drive in to work, lol!
I woke up with crazy ideas about driving myself to my hair appointment next Wednesday. I REALLY need to have my hair done. Really. I've already cancelled the stupid appointment once, and now I may have to change it again, but I promise to stay off El Camino!
Sorry about having to be out the full 6 weeks. Glad the foot is healing nicely though. Can you be up and about more even though you can't drive.Yeah, a little. He said to let the pain and swelling be my guide.
I don't think he wants me to do much, but I can probably do a little more. My "outing" for today...laundry. I'm going to try to do at least one load...my machines are in a laundry room in back of my unit, so I have to walk to the back of the building and back. That shouldn't be too bad.
By-the-way, I think I use the same powdered Vit C that Lisa does. I buy it at Whole Foods...look at the serving size carefully...I only use 1/4 teaspoon at a time. A full teaspoon may be 5,000 mg of Vit C.
Yeah...we'll call him "Dr. Setback".I think this should be a new Rachelville word...for any doctor who insists on setting us back, lol.
-
I use the tinted silk dust with my lighter foundation and I use the regular silk dust with my darker foundation, lol. That's it.
Well, also I like to use the tinted silk dust if I use it over my foundation (but don't do that very often anymore...I mostly use it as a primer). I'd say you only need one, but with my overabundance must-hoard=everything gene, I had to have both. I think as long as it isn't opened it will keep quite a while.
Okay I LOVE the eyebuki...it's kind of like the fluffy brush I bought from Sephora only a little more blunted.
I used Coffee Break blush today...very nice. On me it was like a light bronzer...very natural looking.
I used Bronzer Medal eyeshadow, and I liked that too...again, very natural looking. I'll try it next time as a blush...I think it will do a similar thing as the Coffee Break did.
I also tried CoffeeShop Lipgloss, which I like, but it didn't really show up. That's better than being too light by-the-way, lol.
-
Well, the doctor said my foot is healing just fine, so that's a relief. I also can stop wrapping it all the time, saving that for days when I'll be on my feet a lot. I still can't drive or wear regular shoes...the driving part bums me out, but I can certainly understand. It's a safety issue really. If I can't slam on the breaks if necessary it becomes dangerous. I have to stretch the toe though...that's painful, but it will get better the more it's done. He also wants me to use ice to massage it. So it looks like I'll be out the whole 6 weeks...I was hoping to save 1 of those weeks for the other surgery so I'll probably have to use PTO time instead. I see him again on the 28th.
Rachel, yay...glad you get to get in earlier!
Andrea!
Wow, I'm shocked about your dentist!!!!
-
Well, after posting last I went ahead and ordered! I hobbled down to the mailbox this morning! I LOVE the stuff I got, at least in the jars, lol.
Here's what I got:
Three full sized silk dust
Two full sized tinted silk dust
Sample sizes:
Homework Blush
Rasberry Sherbert Blush
Coffee Break Blush
CoffeeShop lip gloss
Eyebuki Brush...I LOVE this and can't wait to try it
Free gifts:
Bronze medal, Silver Medal, Golden Medal eyeshadows
(all of which look great in the jar...can't wait to try bronze medal as a blush!)
I have a followup appointment with the foot surgeon today so I think I may have to wear makeup so I can try some of these things!
-
Thanks for the updates Birdy and Carla! Carla, thanks for the email! It was very interesting!
Today's outings...I went down to get my mail and then started my car, woohoo!
Two more pieces of steristrips came off! Later, my appointment with the foot doctor, wow...more excitement than I've had in 3 weeks, lol.
Oh, and my neighbor (who has been ignoring the aftermath of the kamikazi destructo squirrell) finally filled his bird feeder this morning.
On a serious note...my incision really doesn't look like it's healing in my opinion so I'm glad I have my appointment today.
-
Ice! Burr, don't like ice, unless it's on my forehead. How are you feeling?
Feeling pretty good. It's been really hard just laying around on the couch (who would have thought that would come out of MY mouth, lol). I'm slightly worried that my incision isn't healing well...I see the doctor tomorrow so he'll get a good look to make sure. I'll be glad when this is healed a bit more and then I can focus on the next surgery, lol.
-
Morning everyone! Nothing much to say...no outings planned today, lol. Just sitting here typing with ice on my foot.
-
Another car starting outing today, lol. No police swarm though.
Thanks for the words of support the other dayYou're welcome!
I hope I don't break it.Don't break the machine!!!
For those of you taking vit D, how much are you taking?I'm not taking it anymore, but last year I was deficient, so the BioSET lady (Anna) had me taking 50,000 IU of D3. I was supposed to take that for 2-3 months, then go on a maintenance dose....I didn't know that, lol, so I just stopped taking it. I started it again a few months ago, but stopped because of all the procedures I've been having lately. I need to find another D3 to take.
Yay about the initial appointment next month. Hoping you like this doctor.....will he/she be the primary surgeon?Me too. Yes, if I like him he will be the primary surgeon and my GI doc may be able to assist.
Yeah....what is UP with all the hostility??Heck...it used to be that people only got a little crazed around the full moon....now its just an everyday thing.
I just don't know...I've noticed it all over the Internet, not just on this board...it's like people have forgotten how to have a nice civil debate. People take it so personally. I can love someone to death and still disagree with them on something.
I don't react to these at all, they are just corn, corn oil and a touch of lime. They don't have any salt in them, they are so flavorful you don't even miss the salt. I found them at Whole Foods. I'll have to look at the bag tomorrow, you might be able to try them out Rachel....because sometimes I wonder if it is the oils and/or the type of salt used that we react to.I'd be interested! Yum!
But I am really enjoying the muffins made with almond flour. I'm not keen on almond flavoring, but these don't taste like almonds.I survived the colonoscopy yesterday, the worst part was the prep--and not the cramps and BR activity. Why am I surprised? I was fatigued, headache, brain fog, etc etc. as soon as I took the first dose of the cleanser. They did take out a polyp, but he said it looked benign. One more result to wait for!! LOL.
Did I miss a recipe for almond muffins?!
Or, are they store bought?
Yeah, the prep is definitely the worst part. I get the fatigue, headache and brain fog stuff from the sedatives though. Hoping everything is clear and good!

Okay everyone...appointment with the surgeon is on September 4. Now, I have to make a list of questions to ask...if I feel comfortable with him we'll probably schedule surgery.
And I find that burning chicken feathers in the house clears up all my skin rashes....or maybe that's 'clears out all my guests'...I'll have to check the spreadsheetIt'd clear me out, but the spreadsheet might just keep me around!
-
Too bad u missed what happened lol. Were any of the cops cute lmaoLOL....I see you and Julie have something in common.
Nope, unfortunately my name is NOT Julie, lol....the cops around here are neither hunky, hot nor cute, lol.
Donna...I guess if enzymes are voodoo....then vitamins must be too. Nevermind the fact that they are essential for good health and some of us may be deficient. But yeah....we're all very gullible for falling for these "scams".Yep...stupid scam vitamins, lol. Sorry you have to wait til October...maybe someone will cancel.
-
The big excitement today a swarm of police across the street, but I never did find out what it was for because my "outing" happened at the same time, lol. My outing...the AAA truck came to start my car.
Yep, I tried starting it yesterday but it wouldn't start. I tried again this morning, but again it wouldn't start, so I had to call AAA. They came right in the middle of the police arrival (probably at least 4-5 police vehicles). Then after my car was started I had to leave it running for 30 minutes...so I just propped my feet up and relaxed in my car.
I'm back inside now with ice on my foot watching the olympics which are kind of exciting this year.
I have bad news to report tho. We had an death in the family yesterday. My poor little confused princess hamster passed away. I was so sad that she passed away. I was up all night thinking about her and her cute little face. Now the dora hamster is all lonely.Awwww, so sorry about the little princess. You could do what my friend used to do. She had two birds, a male and a female...I can't remember their names now, but when one would die she'd buy another and give it the same name as the one who perished, lol.
People who shut down open discussions deprive the celiac disease/GI community an important source of information - ourselves! It is ludicrous to think that empirical, exploratory or non-mainstream topics are off limits and that people cannot discern for themselves what is established and what is still experimental. It is best to have all information available to decide what is best from an individual standpoint, rather than an edited or censored version of "experience".I couldn't agree with this more!!!! That is exactly what I think. I can certainly understand wanting to provides all sides of an issue, but I see no reason why that has to be hostile.
I have been really sick so haven't posted. So sorry you've been so sick!
Omg...i Might Be On To Something
