  1. I use Emenince face cleanser/moisturizer and Bare Minerals and glo Minerals Make-up. Emenince is not all gluten-free though. You have to read the label. But it is all natural, organic ingredients, so if there is gluten in there at all, it will be on the label. I have also read posts from others who have said that Bare Minerals cleansers and stuff are not...
  2. I guess that's my whole point. Just because YOU have a gene does not mean that your child will have that gene AND develop the trait that it represents.
  3. I agree with Richard and Tiffany, that this doc is right on the mark. About the genetics, you do NOT get your parents genes copy for copy. Think about this; I have green eyes. My mom had blue eyes, my dad brown. My sister has blue eyes. My Paternal-grandmother had blue, and grandfather had brown. My maternal grandfather had brown and my maternal grandmother...
  4. That happened to me too, botching the bloodwork. The first time I my doc drew it the lab ordered the wrong tests. When I went back, 3 weeks later, for the results, the doc told me what happened, and order a new panel. When he got THOSE results, they were boarderline. He was suprised because he didn't think my levels would have gone down in just 3 weeks. But...
  5. Ditto! I am glad I am not the only one! I was feeling weird because I know the big concern is if you get it in your mouth, but I had a rash-like spot at the base of my neck that my dermatologist couldn't figure out. I changed shampoos and it is gone (went from a gluten-containing to gluten-free one).
  6. Double Ditto. If you think you might have Celiac, then you want to test for a gluten antibody in your system. And that is different than a wheat allergy. You will have to be eating gluten for it to show up though (you body won't produce the anitbody if you aren't subjecting it to the antigen-which is gluten, if you have a problem with gluten). So you will...
  7. Actually, wheat is not good for most people. It is like rope, and in its natural form, its not digestable. I am not going to argue with the meat vs. no meat points because I think that you can make anything "healthy" depending on your idea of "health". But I just wanted to throw in to the mix that wheat is not that good for us. Infact, the only reason that...
  8. I know it is a little late for the info, but I heard a speaker (a pharmacist) say that most RX's are made with potato or corn starch. But I ditto the above poster that said to call the pharmacist, becaue they would have all of the contact info for the manuf. You might be ok taking it, gluten-wise, but I wouldn't take an anti-biotic if I didn't have the confirmed...
  9. Raffi! Is that the guy that does the song about the "baby baluga (sp?)" ????? I listened to that when I was little and I can't remember who did the song!!!! I Ipod too, I have about 1500 songs on mine, and Podcast Dave Ramsey and Bill O'Reilly. Right now I am listening to Blue Man Group that I got after seeing them in Vegas, they were awesome...
  10. Double ditto (and people say that about me too, cause I dont look bloated anymore-in the face-from the gluten)
  11. I made those to take to a celiac support group and the couple that were left went home with me and were gone within the hour! They are great!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. I came across this post after all of the action! LOL I am glad that it was good, and I hope you are still reaction-free!
  13. I would keep pushing the issue. If your doc is giving you the cold shoulder, maybe you should look for another doc. I would be concerned as well, and I would be going back and back to the doc until someone told me what was going on. Keep pushing it, and if you have to, go to 10 different docs until you find one that will listen and will do something for you...
  14. Thats true, I forgot about that, the fat part that shows malabsorption. Mine didn't show that (my levels were 300 and 1000 was the marker for malabsorption) so I didn't really pay attention to that part. But my gluten antibodies were in the 40's, so thats what I showed my doc. Hm, guess it really depends on what you want it to do for you. If you want to be...
  15. EnteroLab will NOT show the damage in your intestines. Just your antibody levels. For example, if you are wondering if you are not completely gluten free, then do the enterolab test, because it will tell you if you are eating enough to still cause your body to make antibodies. Just wanted to let you know that. Also, it is a fecal test (and if you are going...
  16. Thanks so much everyone! I *think* I might already be pregnant....but maybe I am just crazy. My husband has only been home for 13 days, but about 3 days ago I started getting nausa all the time (about two bites into my food I want to throw up everything). At first I thought it was a gluten reaction, and then I noticed it was at EVERY meal. And I have been...
  17. Lame Advertisement Lame Advertisement Lame Advertisement!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have had both and Enterolab tests for levels if you have been EATING gluten, and Lame Advertisement checks your BLOOD for a REACTION to the GLUTEN in a TEST TUBE, so you don't have to be eating any! And the test checks for gluten, gliadin, and wheat (and lots of other stuff depending...
  18. Ditto, couldn't hurt, if you are good friends.
  19. You should be able to call the manufacturer and ask them. I don't know off the top of my head......hm...but I did hear a speaker recently that said that most tablets are made with potato starch or corn starch. But liquids could still have wheat starch. I would just call the 1-800 number on the box if I were you.
  20. Are you thinking the tablet contained wheat starch? Or that the D was a side effect? I double check in my PDR and the Hydrocodone causes (or can cause) N&V but it does not say D. But it will increase the effect of the MAO inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants (like Pamalor). Did you have vomiting? Or just D? It might have been the combo of the two...
  21. Ditto! My hubby is home for a month (and then back over seas) and we made this as a quick dinner. The spice packet was a solid rock that I had to smash with a mallet to break up, but when it was all said and done, it was wonderful! I was soooo pleased!!!!!
  22. How much ya think? I got a prenatal vitamin, and it has 400 mg, do you think I should take more? I need to be google-ing this stuff, I just feel overwhelmed with all of the info out there!
  23. My husband will be home from Iraq again in Dec and we are looking at "trying" and I want to get as ready as I can. Anyone have any tips? What would you do different if you could? Different vitamins? Lose weight? (I am over weight). I went off of the pill in Nov of 2005, and had my first period on my own about 2 weeks ago, so that is really promising! Anyway...
  24. Ditto! My husband and I played poker with M&M's tonight. I ate my "chips" when I won!
  25. I don't have children yet, but we are trying (kinda) and I am gluten-free and my hubby is not. But when we are home, he eats what I eat, which is all gluten-free. I would go gluten-free if I were you, if for no other reason, then because it is easier to plan meals and to do family stuff. I won't pretend to know what it is like to be preggers, but I will say...
