  1. Like we need to email or call them for that.....hm....makes me want to spend my money with someone else!
  2. I just read that part the other day....it is really interesting. The author (a doc) notes that in Europe, when there was a grain shortage (for some reason, I can't remember now) that the cases of schizophrenia when down dramatically! That caught my attention.
  3. There is a section in the book Dangerous Grains about depression. Maybe you could check it out at the bookstore and see if there is something you could use. It is only a couple of pages...but it is good info, and I am seriously thinking about making a photocopy of that info and giving it to my old psychiatrist.
  4. LOL! What kind of SciFi? I am a nerd, LOL. Sorry to hear about your returning symptoms. I hope you can find some good info on this board. I go straight to the "view new posts" when I am on here because of the mass amount of info. Then, if I am looking for something spesific, I go to the "search" mode and look it up that way. There IS a lot on this board,...
  5. From WHAT I UNDERSTAND and I am kinda new to this.....modified corn starch is fine....corn is a starch more than a veggie, but not a grain......corn chips-straight corn-should be ok, if not made in/on machinery that makes/uses wheat flour stuff (some people will eat Fritos, b/c the label looks good, but others worry about the machinery or the cross contamination...
  6. Laluka, nice to meet ya! I want to scream YES to your question about lightheadedness!!! I felt lighheaded/faint so much that the doc wanted to put me on heart meds but didn't because my blood pressure was always in a safe range. It was so strange. After going gluten-free (really a gluten-free test for me) for three weeks, and then in a rebelion, eating a...
  7. Ok, so they aren't saying that these things ARE in their product...they are just letting you know what to look for?? Hm, maybe they want you to read the label yourself? Ha...Maybe I am reading this wrong....
  8. I have learned from tarnelberry, jnkmnky (who I think their name mean junk monkey? cant figure it out, drives me nuts!), judyinphilly,celiac3270 (where is he?), vydorscope, debmidge, chelsE, who else....gosh, so many....I learned about Kinnikinik (sp?), about recipes, about cooking, about traveling, how to deal with a rude friend, and what to do about a...
  9. I had testing done there (EnteroLab) because I didn't want to go through my doc. After doing several tests (Lame Advertisement, EnteroLab, and gluten free diet and then challenge) I went to my doc for the blood tests. I didn't want to get the discouraging comments that I have seen on here that so many people get from non-believing docs. That was my experience...
  10. Oh my, I wish I still had a base sticker on my truck!
  11. I used to do that too, until I tried to use my card at the post office, and by law, they are not allowed to take a card that is not signed. I threw a fit, and the nice lady explained to me that with a signature, they can compare to my lisence to make sure that the signature is the same, but that an ID pic can be altered to look like me.(?) So they campare...
  12. Way to go! That is the way to do it! I had a conversation with the manager at the local outback because the servers KEPT forgetting about NO CROUTONS when I ordered off of the gluten free menu. He has invited me to speak to them at a server training meeting, to tell them how serious it is, and explain that it isn't a choice for me (or other celiacs). You...
  13. I was there a couple of weeks ago and ate at P F Changs at the Quary (sp?). It was really good!!!!
  14. Hey Chelse, that link didn't work.....but I am going to order the ones from QVC, so I am guessing that they are the same things....Thanks so much everyone! You guys are "meal-savers" !!!! I am going to Vegas in a month and I really wanted to take my own bread and bagels and stuff! Thanks JersyAngel! I will be ordering these today!
  15. Gues the topic says it all. I read about paper baking bags that you can put your bread in and send it back to the kitchen for them to warm it up....but I can't find the post now.....anyone know what I am talking about???
  16. I lost weight, but I was over weight to start with.....but I felt better almost right away. No migraines or stomach problems within a week. I am 23, so I haven't had some of the ongoing problems. But I will say that you are "lucky" to have a diagnosis, because some people never get the docs to agree with them, like me, though I have test after test. Anyway...
  17. So sorry to hear about that nini. I get that way too, every time I get sick, thinking that there had to be gluten in something that I ate......who knows (with me that is). I hope she feels better soon!!!

  19. Thanks Rachel, I wasn't sure with all of the clashing ideas about topical wheat stuff.....appreciate it!!!
  20. I have read several posts about wheat germ oil, some saying that it is ok, and some saying that it is not....I need to know if it is ok to use on a healing would, like a tattoo. My tattoo is peelling, really bad, and scabbing up, and the tattoo guy told me to get this Burt's Bees Res-Q Ointment. I did, without even checking the label....silly me. I just did...
  21. I am soooo glad someone started this thread! I got a tattoo 2 weeks ago today, and it looks terrible! I alternated between A&D ointment and Neosporin, and it has lost all of the color, but the black outline is still there. There are red bumps around the outside, and it is peeling/scabing/flaking really bad!!!! The tattoo shop is over an hour away, so...
  22. That sounds like something to me.....I would go gluten free after reading that, but thats me, I agree with Gulhia, they might have missed a damaged patch. But that is my opinion.
  23. Hey, just found your post.....I am so sorry about your headache....hm.....I am not a doctor, so I don't want to give you bad advice, but I know some people take anti-inflam.s before even going so they will be able to stay ahead of the pain. It could be caused by many things, including expired eye drops, if the office isn't careful about that stuff!!! And...
  24. Well, didn't see a reply from NINI, so here is my suggestion for the blood panel: IgA, IgG, TtG, total serum IgA-those are the ones that I know about, and the ones that I had.
