  4. One thing I know works for sure is magnesium. Try the magnesium citrate powder, like in a glass of orange juice. Start with the suggested dose on the label, and work your way up to the amount which is comfortable for you. The acidic juice magnifies absorption, hence the effectiveness. Magnesium draws water to the intestinal tract.
  5. Yes, buckwheat is a good one. I like the roasted buckwheat best, which is often referred to as Kasha. It really is tasty. Another good one is Amaranth, which is quite nutritious.     That is quite possible, since intestinal healing is expected, as is better nutrient absorption. So before taking the calcium (which I agree with if you need it), try skipping or reducing the magnesium. From my experience, I'd say about two days should tell you plenty.

  10. Just a little note: Paprika is from a type of pepper, which also means curry powder contains a nightshade too. Phyllis28: I didn't have any trouble with nightshades (that I know of) until going gluten-free. I suppose it was just a slow progression, accompanied by the fact that I increased my consumption of potatoes when gluten-free.

  14. What worked best for me was methylcobalamin (B12) and magnesium. I've read that the body can store B12 for upwards of twenty years, so a deficiency wouldn't show immediately if you have a reserve.

    Ah, that might explain it. Yes, magnesium can get your digestive system moving too much if you take excessive magnesium. It just depends on how much you're taking, and of course how much you need. Calcium can work to offset the absorption of magnesium.     Yeah, happened to me too, only it was around six months after going gluten-free. It also lasted about six months too. I've read that insoluble fiber can induce D if you get too much. Slightly Open Original Shared Link might help, though if the body wants to purge itself, I'd say let it do what it needs to do.

  18. There's a recent thread about milk containing gluten, so that makes me suspect that beef can too. Most (if not all) of the animals on large beef farms are fed wheat as part of their diet.
  19. I found it is the GMO corn which bothers me most, but leg, hip and other bone pain was something I got from nightshades. There was a lot of damage before I figured it all out, and just avoiding the foods wasn't enough. I got tremendous benefits from methylcobalamin (B12) and magnesium. Thankfully, organic non-GMO corn doesn't seem to bother me.

  24. As I recall, many custards use egg yokes. So does traditional eggnog. I guess you could also put some in with whole eggs when making French toast, crepes, scrambled eggs, etc, and it would be like having double yokes.
