  1. Soy does that to me too. Try switching to rice or almond or hemp...
  2. Oh, I didn't know that part. I'd still work on getting out of there though. I've had my share of roommate drama and it's never worth it. Everything gets really blown out of proportion when you're in the middle of a situation like that. It's best to move out or just find a way to distance yourself from the drama.
  3. Do you need your mom's permission to move out? If you're on a month to month lease, you can easily leave whenever you want, so.....I'd recommend getting out of there Not to sound cheesy....but you need to be on your own side...empower yourself to take action and find a better situation for yourself.
  4. Yeah, I did that on purpose. Why? I don't know...it made sense at the time...LOL
  5. Are both of your names on the lease, or is it your place and she's renting room? Do you have the option of living alone? Most people with roommates have these types of issues, unfortunately....
  6. I'm sooo going to the library after work to check out Grammar in Use... then I'll come back later, with new impressive skills allowing me to correct the grammer of all my suiters...and THEN I'll become the new doyenne (definition a...okay fine, and B ) of that can't get a date thread you mention.
  7. Wow! Thanks!!!! How fascinating...and confusing...but wow! I'll have to read that a few times to comprehend Are there any grammar books you recommend?
  8. LOL. Well at least I know it's somewhat normal for me to be having difficulty with this It does. You all can be very impressive I know someone here knows the answer...
  9. Okay, I'm glad I'm not the only person who doesn't know the answer. But...someone must...Emily, Dingo...anyone???
  10. I use: Kiss My Face olive oil soap raw apple cider vinegar (as toner) pure emu oil (on my acne prone areas) pure jojoba oil (as make-up remover, sometimes on my face and as a body lotion) pure tea tree oil (to treat acne) Neutrogena anti-aging/anti-acne lotion Jason satin shower body wash (as shaving cream and shower gel) currently trying to find...
  11. Speaking of verbs....may I butt into your thread again? I'm in desperate search for some grammar people, and I get the sense that for some weird reason, all the grammar people of the world are here is Sillyville LOL. Anywho...random question: What verb tense is being used in the sentence below? The ball was hit over the fence. Is that...
  12. Here's a review from amazon. I think you all would really like the book. I just read a little blurb about that place in a book by Bill Bryson. He said a little boy was in his backyard and the groud literally opened up beneath him, forcing the boy to hang from a tree to survive (so he wouldn't fall through the ground) until he could...
  13. I've recently discovered Emu Oil. It's amazing. You should look into it Also, are all of your products pure (for example, I use pure olive oil soap, fragrance-free all natural laundry detergent, jojoba oil as body lotion etc) Those things might not cure the problem but they could help limit the irritation.
  14. Different people have different sensitivity levels. The oil shouldn't contain wheat protein (gluten) to begin with, and on top of that, you aren't blatantly eating it. However, some people react to wheat germ oil (possibly because of celiac...possibly because of other conditions), and if it makes you more comfortable, you might consider switching to a different...
  15. C'mon...nobody here (on this board about food choices) has read this book?????
  16. I attended a gluten-free baking class once that was set-up more like a lecture. The teacher talked about the basics of gluten-free baking and reviewed many available mixes and products. It's a popular class and a way of getting around the shared kitched issue.
  17. I think a former poster from this board became a gluten-free consultant, or a lifestyle coach, or something like that. Maybe you could just give yourself a title, and continue to do what you're already doing (but not for free). Maybe you can look into how Danna Korn does it. I don't know what qualifications she has, but it seems like she's pretty successful...
  18. Pure cocoa butter. Pure jojoba oil is good too...or coconut oil.
  19. I'm not quite half way through the book, but I can't put it down. I think everyone (especially those of us in the US) should read it! Has anyone else read The Omnivore's Dilemma? What did you think?
  20. when I did mine (same recipe that isiskingdom posted) it stayed good in the fridge for a couple days...
  21. Wow, thanks for the info. Let us know how they are if you find them.
  22. Oh sorry. I meant to say coconut milk. It was a can of coconut milk...the ingredients were coconut and guar gum. I'll go back and edit that
  23. I made a gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free whipped topping last week and it was goooood!!!!!!!!!!!! Here's what I did: Put a can (or two, or three) of coconut milk (full fat version) in fridge overnight Next day, scrape the hardened stuff into a bowl Add a couple spoonfuls of powdered sugar and a bit of vanilla extract Mix with beaters...
  24. I drink it all the time. I'm pretty sure it's safe. You could (possibly?) have a sensitivity to hemp nuts though.
