  1. Not the case with Tinkyada. You can cook Tinkyada for hours and it's still good (okay maybe not hours but you get the point ).
  2. I'm currently enjoying some Cinnamon & Sultana cookies. Pretty good. The pasta is decent, but not nearly on the level of Tinkyada (do they have Tinkyada in Australia ? ). I've also tried the instant tomato soup, which left me feeling quite sick all night, but I don't think it was a gluten issue. Oh yeah, and I tried a can of the spagetti-o things...
  3. Hi - If you're near a Whole Foods, I highly recommend 365 Organics Rice Milk. It's the only one I like better than Rice Dream
  4. I'm in Sydney. Bondi Beach at the moment... If I weren't soy and dairy-free I don't think I'd even have to think twice about eating here. I'm not sure what it's like in the UK, but I'm finding it much easier to find healthy food in this country. Well, that's how it seems now anyway. We'll see how it is when I start travelling more It is FREEZING here...
  5. Hi! Well I haven't found any men or koalas yet. Okay, that's a lie, there's plenty of men, but just none gluten-free enough for R'ville. Still searching.... I think Rachel might shop at the Whole Foods in Walnut Creek? That's in the East Bay. I've never heard of Sherman Creek in the bay area, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. She's really...
  6. I'm looking for anything I can find . My visa permitts me to work in this country for four months. I have a University degree but I'm applying for many different types of positions. I've applied to office jobs and cafe jobs and I'm thinking of applying for some Au Pair positions. Job searching in a new country is a bit daunting , but I hope to find...
  7. LOL Hi! You caught me lurking. I'm good!...still seeking out the koalas and...the men hehe. Gluten-free bread in Australia is AMAZING. Food is now the least of my worries. I am feeling a bit spinached over trying to find a job, but...oh well, I'm having fun. I still don't know exactly what spinached means, by the way, but I thought it'd be fun...
  8. Thanks again I really like it here. I found the most amazing gluten-free bread today. I think it's called Early Harvest. mmmmmmm. I don't even eat gluten-free bread at home much but this is truly superior gluten-free bread. I didn't toast it or anything and it was really good. I'm staying in hostels right now until I can find a job and an apartment...
  9. Okay, koalas and Aussie men. I'm on it. I have seen more men than koalas, but I'm not complaining. Any other requests while I'm here? I'll bring back anything you want - except crocodiles. I don't like those.
  10. Yes. All of them. Seriously. I keep buying 1/2 hour internet passes, and by the time I get around to posting on here, there's 30 seconds left . Okay what's with the ice cream makers and the purple bats? I'm so not caught up. I'll have to come back later. Bye for now, Rachelville!
  11. Yeah I started out in the city centre, well basically Chinatown, and I have to admitt I was a little lost at first . I found my way to Bondi Beach today. I really like this area. It's beautiful, and there's organic food places everywhere I look, and I'm stopping and eating at all of them . Australia should win some sort of international food labeling...
  12. Thank you, thank you Shiba! I love this country!...and this board! I think I was a little overwhelmed at first, since I was sooo jet lagged and sharing a kitchen with the hundreds of other people in the hostel. I think today will be a great day of eating lots and lots of gluten-free food in Sydney
  13. Hi Rachelville friends! I just had to stop by an internet cafe and visit Rachelville, because I'm hungry and I miss the place where all the food is safe and happy and gluten and auxigro and everything else free! Grow me some food and have the geese fly it over! LOL haha...but it's okay...I'll figure out how to eat here! I even found a place today that...
  14. I'm sooooo hungry!!!!!!!!!! Where are all the health food stores in Sydney??? Where are all the grocery stores for that matter (they're all so tiny LOL). I have to confess ...I really really miss Whole Foods! I finally found a can of Amy's black bean vegetable soup and it was the first actual meal I've eaten since....last Monday. I'm just glad I brough...
  15. I've been here briefly on and off for the past few days...with not much time to post I must bid you all farewell for a short while as it's time to venture to the far off lands. I'll be sure to seek out very talented and magical koalas, since it just wouldn't be right to have miraculous, protective, auxigro detecting geese...and just plain old koalas...
  16. I feel like I should clairfy my post becasue I didn't explain it very well. If an unhealthy person is perfectly happy, I have absolutely no "attitude problem" toward that person. But....if the person is extremely negative and unhappy and attempts to bring me down with them, that's when I have a problem. I don't know if that makes sense....
  17. I can relate to this too. I have a friend who would constantly complain to me about her weight problems, but she had no desire to ever exercise or really learn to eat healthy food. She also ate out everyday because she was unable to cook very basic things. Rather than try to help herself, she decided to become my leech. It was just too draining. I couldn...
  18. LOL Don't worry, it wasn't always there (it's been there for maybe, four days?), but everyone can still call me Mango if they want ps I have 12 of the 18 high histamine symptoms. Weirrrrd <------ I don't really know what this little face means, btw (sleepy guy?)...I just couldn't find one that worked lol I hope everyone has a wonderful...
  19. I'm glad you found another puzzle piece Rachel. It seems to make a lot of sense. It's amazing how each time you come up with a new theory, it doesn't discredit all the old theories, but rather brings the whole picture into clearer focus... Oh and I just have to add...we're about to hit page 200!
  20. Did I admitt to that? I must be nuts. No wonder why I'm drawn to the gluten-free cult farm. I guess the flyers can come down for now, but if you have even one minor reaction to the dairy, they're going right back up! You won't react though. Here in Rachelville you can eat all the ice cream you want...but I'll stick to my unlimited amounts of mango...
  21. Don't feel like an idiot. You can cry over food! Just go make yourself a yummy gluten-free pizza or cake or something
  22. Aww thanks Queen Julie, and everyone else. I'll be sure to check in when I get there. Congrats Pickard. Yay for good tests results Donna! Good luck to everyone doing the water challenge! I'm a total believer in the water challenge! I stopped using my water filter and it's great! Enjoy your ice cream Rachel. Gosh Rachelvile is...
  23. Ha! I do go kinda nuts huh when people talk about eating dairy. I'm like the anti-dairy police. But I do think you're on to something here. At least all the cows in R-ville are raised on pure organic land and fed all natural grasses. hehe. You really should write a book about all this (ya know - about what's in all the food we eat). You know waayy...
  24. OMG Rachel can eat dairy again???!!!! I don't have time to catch up on all the posts. I'm preparing for my trip to the distant lands, where I'll gather the koala bears to bring back to Rachelville Anyway, I can't ever help but give advice about dairy. For me, it's always a delayed reaction. Sometimes I'll start reacting three or four days later...
  25. I think she set that concept aside about 160 pages ago...
