  1. If you have a Whole Foods, you might want to try 365 Organic Rice Milk. Almond milk is good too. Lundberg is another brand of rice milk that's not too bad either. Also, if you're talking about Pacific brand rice milk...I'm pretty sure that one is safe, from a gluten perspective anyway.
  2. Ya, it works well. I use BE make-up with Ecco Bella mascara. It doesn't get all the mascara off so I use a bit of coconut oil to get the rest. Knock on wood, but I seriously haven't broken out once since I started using this soap on my face about four weeks ago (and that's unusual for me). Oh ya and the whole using it on my face thing was kind of...
  3. If you feel like dairy is a risk for you, I would aviod it. People don't need dairy. You do need more protein though. Try to add a little protein to every meal. I would add some peanut butter on the bannana, and get rid of the chocolate bar. It also wouldn't hurt to avoid corn for now. Remember that the Lundberg rice chips have corn in them.
  4. I get it at Whole Foods or Longs (a drug store) or other natural foods stores. The weird thing I just noticed is on the webiste they list citric acid as an ingredient, but on the actual package that isn't listed. hmmmm.
  5. I knew there had to be benefits to being casein-free (besides not being sick all the time). I never knew being CF could make me richer though
  6. I know this has been talked about but I just had to bring it up again. Kiss My Face Olive Oil soap is amazing. It contains olive oil, water and sodium chloride...and that's all. I started using it on my face and it works sooo well! No need to spend so much $$$$$$ on expensive facial cleansers (the bar of soap is $3).
  7. Juice Beauty and sometimes coconut oil. I have really bad skin and neither of these make me break out. I also use Kiss My Face olive oil soap (just three ingredients - olive oil, water and salt). Its great stuff.
  8. I think it does taste like regular pizza! My gluten-eating friends said it did. I think they were just as excited about trying it as I was. One day you will try it too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. LOL it was soooo yummy and so much fun to eat . I got it when I was in Colorado last weekend. I couldn't believe how easy it was to eat gluten-free there. I felt like I was in the middle of nowhere but there was a Whole Foods and a gluten-free pizza place just blocks away from my hotel. Hopefully I'll have the same kind of luck in Australia
  10. Hi - I did find this list of gluten-free restaurants throughout Australia and New Zealand. It looks pretty helpful. I think I'll be carrying it with me everywhere I go Open Original Shared Link I leave in 18 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Hi - If you browse the recipe forum you'll be able to find some great recipes using naturally gluten-free foods. You can also get a raw cookbook for some new ideas.
  12. Here's my review of Beau Jo's: Soooo good! See scary picture to the left . That's me eating pizza that I ordered from a restaurant!!!!! It could have tasted like dirt and I still would have had fun just ordering it My friends ordered gluten-free pizza too, which totally cracked me up. They said they couldn't taste the difference. Maybe they were...
  13. I used to work in a deli. It was a really upscale deli too. The slicers were disgusting. We had like one rag we would use to wipe each one down with, so the rag was contaminated, and I definitely don't think they got cleaned between each order. It would just kinda go from roast beef to cheese to turkey. yuck. I don't know if that's how it is everywhere...
  14. Here's a link to applegate farms info: Open Original Shared Link I looked b/c I was curious. Turns out they have hot dog info. on their home page . It appears to be soy-free.
  15. That's really interesting. I only like to eat well-treated animals too, but I never exactly thought about it in terms of energy.
  16. Wow, sorry to hear what you're going through. Your "friend's" response is shocking! Why does she have to think about gluten-free food at all? I have friends who don't ever think about my food. They just know I can't eat things they cook. It's no big deal. I wonder if your "friend" has some sort of food/diet/health issue she's dealing with, and is somehow...
  17. I'm glad you're so excited and hopeful! Thanks for sharing all of that info. That pharmacist sounds like he knows what he's doing! It's rare to find someone that knowledgeable.
  18. This is just my opinion (everyone has their own comfort levels with the "may contain traces" warning): If your daughter is constantly experiencing aches in her belly, I would definitely avoid that product, at least for now. Based on the play dough reaction, it sounds like she's currently very sensitive. It just might not be worth the risk, especially...
  19. Sorry to only quote half your sentence but you do have a point. People need to realize white sugar is poison too. What about organic evaporated cane juice? I'm not saying it's good for you but wouldn't that be a much better option? It's not too pricey. I bought a bag from Trader Joe's for a few bucks. It's lasted me a year and a half so far and isn...
  20. I think the answer is to avoid all processed sugars, all processed table salt (sodium chloride) and all artificial sweetners. I think natural sea salt, agave, etc. are much better options...
  21. I sometimes eat Applegate Farms organic lunch meat. It says gluten-free on the package.
  22. I think they do: Open Original Shared Link
  23. Processed food makes me sick as well. You have your answer. That's how I have to eat if I want to remain healthy. We're brainwashed to believe our bodies are supposed to be able to tolerate additives and chemicals in processed foods, but our bodies are not designed for all that. There's nothing wrong with eating fresh, unprocessed food. Especially...
  24. I'm leaving for Colorado in a couple days. Hoping to at least stop at Beau Jos
  25. That is really crazy about you and Chelsea and floridanative. I didn't live in Syracuse for very long but my parents lived there for a while and we go back to visit every so often.
